Guys early prelims already started so you can tune in and watch this UFC event live now.
This is not the most entertaining fight card on paper but I think main even is going be exciting to watch.
Tatsuro Taira has a perfect MMA record with 16 wins, but odds are to low on him to win.

This guy had been the apple of the eye since that live stream and most of his comments on different champions of the sport.

Did Conor McGregor Violate UFC Rules with Million Dollar Gamble?
https://www.lowkickmma.com/conor-mcgregor-violate-ufc-rules/

Quote
“I couldn’t pick a winner until the fight started, but I just knew there was going to be a KO,” McGregor posted after the fight. “A million on a KO by either fighter at 1/5. Good bet! $200,000 profit! NICE!!!”
I am glad he made some good money from that fight. I also know there will be a KO but I didn't see any option where you could bet for a KO only. Most sports bookies are offering when the match will end or who is going to win his pick must be from a different bookie.

But here comes the problem.
Quote
It was a nice 200k pickup for the Irish megastar. However, per a memo sent to athletes in October 2022, UFC fighters are prohibited from gambling on any UFC fight, regardless of whether they are involved or not.
You can't bet on any fight and that's the truth.
Every sport is trying to punish those who will do this to avoid inside jobs. Whether he made the bet or not (his family or relative, if it's proven that the money came from him then it going to give him a lot of trouble. Sports managements are trying to avoid this to keep the sport clean and I think McGregor will say he ain't the one fighting but if it's a contract that he should not bet at any means then it's still wrong.

Anyway, we have Brandon Royval versus Tatsuro Taira later. Who is your pick? I pick the younger guy who is trying to climb the higher heights. Taira will win this!

I see, so it must be their strategy to captivate the Asian people. After the loss of the Korean zombie with his retirement, a spot opened up for an Asian fighter who could carry the UFC name there. And there's also the fact that he's never lost, so this fight is worth a lot for him and for the UFC.
I remember Dana was saying he wanted to appeal to the Asian market and Japanese inparticular with signing Taira and there was another one from Rizen MMA he signed on to compete against him but his name slips my mind at the moment.

In your opinion, are there any good fights to watch or bet on? I don't know much about the fighters on this upcoming card. And I need to keep an eye on them because at any moment one of these unknowns could be on top.
Tatsuro Taira - he is the upcoming star of the Flyweight Division. That dude have no losses yet and I think he will keep it that way. I doubt Brandon Royval to win this match. It's like UFC is just testing the Japanese star. That guy is a winner and I will bet for him. I think Dana White made this match for a reason. He want Taira to be in the front page and it will be this weekend.

It's not a decent set but the Royval versus Taira match is an awaited match that will probably  put Taira on the higher ranking of the Flyweight Division. I will definitely not miss this one.
Good luck with your bets.

Dana has been looking for someone from Asia like TKZ and found Taira. Maybe the reason he didn't need Mokaev to make the flyweight exciting is because of Taira.
He Taira will be a dominant fighter in the FW, he seems to have fast-tracked his way to getting a title shot after defeating Perez. Maybe after Royval he will be fighting Pantoja already for the belt.

Unnumbered cards are always chaos, fighters treat them like anything and not as a chance to fight on a numbered card or something. I hope the next ones are better, but from what I've seen I'm not going to bet.

The main event is the one everybody is waiting to see if Tatsuro Taira can stay 16-0 versus a very good Brandon Royval.

Here are a few videos I managed to watch when they were released a little while ago so to get a taste of what we are in for:

Japan's Top-Ranked Fighter 🇯🇵 | Every Tatsuro Taira Finish | UFC Vegas 98

FINISH FIGHT⚔️ | Brandon Royval vs Tatsuro Taira | UFC Vegas 98

For the fights to bet on, it is still to early to place bets because with any UFC event you will more than likely have a fighter pulling out of these events.
As what just had happened 40 minutes ago:

Best to wait closer to the first fight to place any bets on these vegas/fight night events.

I believe this was Poatan's most difficult fight, Rountree is faster and even managed to land several significant blows on Pereira, but when he got tired, he realized that his entire body was already marked.
He won with a KO and he had more problems with Adesanya in second fights, he lost that fight, but that was in middleweight division.
I think Pereira is doing much better in Light Heavyweight division, and he does not have to worry about weight cut so much.
We are in Pereira era now  Grin

Yes, it's true and it has everything to be a great era. But I believe he won't want to stay in this category. He'll want to fight in other categories soon and that could make him lose some fights.

That is why I am doubting betting for Jose Aldo, I just don't feel that he can win a fight anymore. It's nice that it went until the decision but still, that energetic Aldo is gone and the aggressive moves are unseen anymore.

@rdbase Yeah, Julianna Peña definitely surprised me with how she fought Raquel Pennington but I did say I was going to risk my money on Peña and I was right. I am one of the old-school fans of that lady. Cheesy

About the main event, well, that was highly predicted to happen but Rountree did a great job being tough on that Octagon against the champion. Going until Round 4 even though he is messed up on calf kicks and body shots. It paid dividends for the champ in that 4th round.
4 bouts for Alex Pereira this year, I think he deserves some rest and just come back next year.

Alex Pereira demolished Khalil Rountree Jr in this fight. Even if it took until the championship rounds to do it.
There was this weird front kick Pereira did right when the first round started where Khalil caught his foot but he spinned out of it quickly enough so he didn't have time to capitalize on it. Overall I thought Pereira would of knocked him out early on but the fight lasted til the fourth round til he had to finish him off with those powerful body shots.

The biggest surprise of the night was Julianna Peña defeating Raquel Pennington to take her belt away from her.
But she did the same thing to Nunes two years ago to have the largest underdog win in a women's titleshot bout.

Mario Bautista defeating Jose Aldo via split decision was a shocker to many who were watching the fight from the tweets that were put out while the fight was going on.
Roman Dolidze beating Kevin Holland were he had to pull out at the end of the first round due to dislocating a rib so he couldn't continue on.

Kayla Harrison against Ketlen Vieira was a more competitive fight than even Kayla thought it would be. She was dominating the first round but then received an elbow to the forehead which caused swelling to a knot on there. But when she got her to the ground it was all Harrison who won the bout via the judges scorecards. Which to me was a disappointing win because Vieira had her shook in the second round.

Can't wait until the next one Royval vs Taira coming up at the Apex for this next weekend!

Alex Pereira was really amazing and just like I thought the fight would go in his favor never expected Roundtree to hold on surely he has an incredible chin and for sure Khalil Roundtree is also dangerous in some that he even knockout Pereira in the 1st rounds, but still champion and this is his 3rd consecutive title defense that earns him fight of the night.

while Julianna Peña shocks Raquel Pennington by controlling her on the ground but it was really a close fight that many are saying that Raquel Pennington was robbed for me it was a very close fight that you need to recount all the damage that has been done to say that Raquel Pennington was robbed.

The Mario Bautista fight was boring for me well, not the fight but Mario Bautista the one that is constantly moving and punching was Jose Aldo so for me it was a robbery to the legendary Aldo they should give credit to him as he is still fighting even with his age.

Unexpected turn of events Holland having a rib dislocate in a fight was a terrible that happened but that was it Roman Dolidze won because of this.

Lastly, Kayla Harrison was also shocked with Ketlen Vieira withstanding her barrage of punches but she dominated the ground which has given her a lot of points for sure I like to see her in another fight before getting her into a title match.

Just like I thought it was a pretty great fight card and I really enjoyed it although I already predicted what may happen with the Main Card

Alex Pereira VS Khalil Rountree Jr.

Alex Pereira is really something and like I have said he is really good at knocking out his opponent Khalil Roundtree might be fast but he was really reckless that overhand punch is not going to do much against Pereira and that will surely cause Pereira to see openings against Roundtree and that have cost Khalil Roundtree his defeated he swings that hand to far that Alex Pereira can see it within miles but in this fight Roundtree is something he withstood the beating from Alex Pereira and because Khalil Roundtree has the best chin in this division but he was badly beaten in the last rounds but at the beginning of the fight Roundtree hurt Alex Pereira knocking him the only fighter in the division that Knock Pereira and because of Roundtree's speed he is able to do that but again in the last Rounds Alex Pereira still prevails and got used to Roundtree's speed.

José Aldo VS Mario Bautista

Jose Aldo is amazing even though he is older he can still fight and move like he is still great not in his prime because Prime Aldo would definitely knock out Mario Bautista who is not doing a thing inside the Octagon I got to admit I really like what Aldo did in this fight but for me even though I have bet for Mario Bautista this fight is a robbery and Jose Aldo should win this one and Damage trumps all, while Bautista all did was to lock Aldo in the fence.

Stephen Thompson VS Joaquin Buckley

That Overhand punch then blocks and then right hook was really great and I feel really sad for Stephen Thompson he can not do a thing against Joaquin Buckley's speed in the 1st 2 rounds was really slow but that is the thing the two fighters are feeling each other but Joaquin Buckley is so fast for Thompson that he handed it over to him in the 3rd round and Thompson from that perspective on the 2 first round he didn't anticipate this on Buckley now a great thing to see is Shavkat VS Buckley but for me, I would go with Shavkat Rakhmonov for sure.

Guys dont underestimate Khalil Rountree so easy.
Yes he is a big underdog and he is most likely going to lose this fight, but he is in great run, winning five of his last fights and four of them with a TKO finish against good fighters!
I am expecting more interesting fight than odds are suggesting, and this two fighters had very intense faceoff: https://youtu.be/dXe95rBm2Oo
Rountree may have good standing, but Pereira is the favourite for a reason. Some bettors for sure have placed their bets in favour of Pereira for secure wins. But if you want more challenge, should have placed how the fight will end up with.
A lot of big names on this card but no fights that I’m really excited about or care enough to bet on. The one fight that I do find intriguing and am looking forward to seeing how it plays out is Harrison vs Vieira which is a little strange considering that’s a fight between two woman and not even the main women’s event. I like the smack talk and story behind the fight though.
Well, it ended up via UD not TKO. It means, Vieira has indeed some skills under her sleeves. But Harrison overpowered her as she controlled the fight. And with such victory, Harrison just solidified her position in the bantamweight division.
Kayla Harrison has to be another heavy favorite to beat Ketlen Vieira as she is on the road to dominant the division and even had a bit of jawing against Pena during the press conference.
Having both Pennington's on the exact same card is something different.
Rountree won't have a chance against the might of Pereira I would imagine.
The end of the prelims so the main card should begin shortly.
So we will jsut have to wait and see over the next three hours who will walk away with their belts by the end of the night.

My bet and prediction for this UFC event

Alex Pereira VS Khalil Rountree Jr.

I got a great feeling about this and as I said back then this could be a one-sided fight but if Roudtree can manage to avoid the 1 hit wonder of Alex Pereira then the fight will surely be prolonged if that left hook connected then this is all over we can say even the jab is a devastating weapon for him but if Roundtree has managed to evade it and make a good round and withstanding Pereira's onslaught then Alex Pereira will result with the takedown and finish this on the ground as Alex Pereira has trained by Glover Teixeira and the ground game is his back up plan so I will go with Alex Pereira.

José Aldo VS Mario Bautista

For this fight, Jose Aldo seems to be back but I highly doubt this as it takes him time to take Jonathan Martinez and end up in a decision win if he can not knockout Mario Bautista that is very dangerous for him as Mario Bautista can knock Aldo out and even take the fight into the ground and that will be very dangerous for Aldo as Mario Bautista is a very well-rounded fighter and because of Jose Aldo's age I can not surely trust him so my take is Mario Bautista winning this.

Stephen Thompson VS Joaquin Buckley

This is a 10-year gap and I'd say that Stephen Wonder Boy Thompson should retire after this fight Joaquin Buckley is very dangerous in the standing and if Thompson can not finish this fight quickly Buckley is a fighter who can be dangerous in the standing if prolonged because of his devastating punches I know I am surely underestimating Stephen Thompson getting the win but this is Joaquin Buckley we are talking about and their age gap is tremendous so my pick is Joaquin Buckley.
