Congratulations to you guys who bet for Magomed Ankalaev. I should've taken that KO/TKO win. Cheesy But it's okay, a win is still a win.
Johnny Walker did great in the first round showing an impressive usage of his kickboxing style. He was so aggressive offensively and I really thought he might win that fight if he could just land one of those kicks. Ankalaev on the other hand started slow, he ain't throwing much in the first round, and then the bad low blow. Ouch!
The second round was so bad for Walker, he is just circling around not throwing anything. His kicks are scary although risky but one hit could definitely change the game. But Ankalaev got him first, what a great accurate powerful punch, and just one follow-up punch made the referee decide to stop it and I think that's a perfect stoppage or else there will be more damage. It's too strong that Walker bounced on the cage and obviously that's lights out for him. Cheesy
I bet Anakalaev's camp will now be hunting for the title match this year.

From the looks of it you also had a successful night in the UFC betting wise.
Well played @YuginKadoya !
The co-main event was cancelled so we had Jim Miller fill in with his fight instead and that one didn't disappoint.
To the point where there is now talk for this grizzled veteran to take on another fighter who is currently working the mic as an announcer in Felder to be in UFC 300.
As his swan song just like what happened to Lawler about 6 months back when he retired from the sport and was given a good send off with that wicked KO win.

The usual suspects won and alot of finishes this night for a not too bad UFC Fight Night at the Apex.

Yup! I got 2 out of 3 so it was not bad at all, the Co-Main Event was the one I was waiting for but it was canceled due to Manel Kape missing out weight it was really a horrible thing to happen but it really is just normal for it to happen so I switched my research and bet for this one and it got horrible losses, because the now Co-Main Event I am not really familiar with Gabriel Benítez but because Jim Miller was that old I had to bet on the younger one and failed miserably,

Here are the results of my Bet and Predictions for the UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker

Magomed Ankalaev VS Johnny Walker - ROUND 2 KO/TKO - WIN

Amazing Knockout for Magomed Ankalaev and 1 punch is all he needs to bring down Johnny Walker I have said that Ankalaev's power with his strikes is really there and Walker even with that Capoeira style Ankalaev has already seen those weird style of Walker was on the 1st round that the Magomed Ankalaev was just waiting for an opportunity to switch stance for an Orthodox and give Johnny Walker a beating, that he needed, it was feints Ankalaev was just raising his feat to catch Walker and in that 1 mistake on Johnny Walker's part Ankalaev have caught him, and instantly that straight punch and the hook that finish him,

Jim Miller VS Gabriel Benítez ROUND 3 SUBMISSION - LOST

Now Jim Miller was surprisingly still able to throw takedowns more often I thought that he never did that but in this fight, Jim Miller threw 2 takedowns and both were successful the sad part is that Gabriel Benitez doesn't have a good takedown defense or is not able to defend those fast takedowns of Jim Miller because Miller has the speed than Benitez and with that 3rd round Miller has successfully get those grappling into action and gotten the rear naked choke on Gabriel Benitez that led him to tap,

Marcus McGhee VS Gaston Bolaños ROUND 2 KO/TKO - WIN

Marcus McGhee's striking was superb for sure if he can not get this into the stand-up he still has other options and he has said in the interview he will wrestle and get this fight to the ground for sure the level of performance of McGhee is just incredible and for sure he deserves a fight that will raise him above the top 10 contenders, for sure that is his next plan in his next fight and Gaston Bolaños stand no chance against Marcus McGhee, in this fight he has shown that and what he is capable of,

I got a lot more wins than losses but still, I got a loss my pick is 2 out of 3 so it was not really that bad, so here is the result of my picks for today's UFC Fight Night Ankalaev vs. Walker

Magomed Ankalaev (1.19) VS Johnny Walker (4.80) - WIN

2nd Round was all Ankalaev needed to defeat Walker, well actually 1 round is what Ankalaev needed because, in the 1st round, Magomed Ankalaev had a slow start and a slow pace for this fight Ankalaev is just looking for an opening and seeing how Walker moved, and surely pressuring Johnny Walker and Walker backing out from that feint, and that low blow to Johnny was not that hard but for sure it is still painful to Johnny's part and for sure  Johnny got the rest he needed, and Magomed need to be careful but in the round 2 it was really in favor for Magomed and he keeps on pressuring Walker and as Johnny Walker moves closer Magomed Ankalaev got that opening shot and 1 mistake from Johhny and the fight was all finish as Ankalaev does have knockout power,

Jim Miller (1.67) VS Gabriel Benitez (2.21) - WIN

Actually, Gabriel Benitez has a great strategy for keeping his distance while getting those strikes and kicks but Jim Miller is returning those shots with devastating force, and for sure Miller is getting these takedowns Benitez doesn't know what he was doing while pin on the ground, not a great fight for Gabriel Benitez because now that Miller knew that his opponent can be taken to the ground and doesn't have a takedown defense, and so the 3rd round was for Jim Miller and for this fight, it was clear that Jim Miller won it with a submission,

Ricky Simon (1.55) VS Mario Bautista (2.48) - LOST

What a performance for these two and they have shown that both of them have the potential to improve for sure in this fight Mario Bautista shot 13 takedowns but 2 were the only successful ones, while Ricky Simon really has a good takedown defense from that he has had a good volume of strikes to win this fight and for sure he is doing really great, while Simon has good striking for sure for all that striking and accuracy he has given to Ricky Simon, for sure the damage prevails from this fight and those takedown doesn't have any score at all but with those striking Mario Bautista is a clear winner,

Tom still has bitterness about Jon not being stripped of his title and him also having the title which means they are both HW champs. It makes sense they both fight but it's yet a good time for Dana to do this. He still has plans I guess but it's all fuckedup since Ngannou is already somewhere happy, they got to bring someone big in this division.

Walker's odd is very tempting but its just too risky to see him get the lucky shot to bring Anka down.

Jon Jones is scot-free to do it for sure when Dana White has just given the Interim Championship to Tom Aspinall, it was not a clever way to do such a thing but maybe if it is Cyril Gane he would not likely give any care at all, but this is Tom Freaking Aspinall we are talking about here, so for sure he can not sleep at night knowing that he is not the real Heavyweight champion,

Now here are my bets and predictions for the UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker and Breaking News: Matheus Nicolau vs. Manel Kape fight was Canceled on this event because Kape Missed Weight, what a shame and it is good that I am just about betting today because I will surely go with the Main and the Co-Main for sure,

Magomed Ankalaev VS Johnny Walker

The odds for this fight are 1.90 for Magomed Ankalaev and 4.80 for Johnny Walker, for this fight Johnny Walker is surely looking bigger than Ankalaev, well, because of his height, and looking at his movement it is clear that he is faster than Magomedov Ankalev, for sure this is clear with both fighters movements but even with this Magomed Ankalev has a wrestling game and is pretty much technical with his striking and just 1 strike he can surely knockout Walker, as Johnny Walker may have decent takedown defense the tenacity of Ankalaev's wrestling he might show it today, even though Johnny Walker is much explosive with his movement I will still go with Magomed Ankalaev.

Jim Miller VS Gabriel Benítez

The odds for this fight are 1.67 for Jim Miller and 2.21 for Gabriel Benitez, for this fight at 40 Years old Jim Miller is still looking great but even though he is looking great and still moving like his old self for me he is a declining fighter now, and against Gabriel Benitez that might be on his prime this could be a wrong opponent for Jim Miller even though he is good with his striking his takedown now I don't really see him using it anymore or being consistently doing it, so for this fight, I think my pick will be Gabriel Benitez.

Marcus McGhee VS Gaston Bolaños

The odds for this fight are 1.41 for Marcus McGhee and 2.90 for Gaston Bolaños, Now with this fight Gaston Bolaños for sure has good striking and some kicks but aside from that nothing impressive while he got 2 losses with submission it is clear that he has a weakness with wrestlers, while Marcus McGhee for sure has a crazy strength with his striking and also because of his lost with a rear naked choke he is accumulating to improve his grappling by winning his one fight with a rear naked choke aswell, so for me Marcus McGhee is also a learning fighter so for me in this fight my pick is Marcus McGhee.

I don't know if you could call it dodging Tom. But UFC fans could tell Tom is in no way gonna have a chance to win if Dana puts them in the cage. Dana decides on the fights, he couldn't see Tom as the PPV type. Stipe and Jones are preferable.
Judging from Tom Aspinall's last performance against Sergei Pavlovich it is a master class one, he is more technical than Sergei Pavlovich that is for sure that is why he has a chance against Jon Jones in my opinion, I can say that he got a chance but still Jon Jones is another beast with technical striking and grappling so for sure it will be a great match to behold that is why for me I can not wait to see it, and the only thing stopping us from seeing it early is Stipe Miocic,
WOW! We got a new event this week it was really a long holiday break and sure many fighters pretty much need this long break right now but they also need to fight just to get their salary going, yeah this is an interesting fight for sure as Ankalaev right now got an ugly record of Draw and No Contest in his last fight he needs to really focus in this fight as for sure Johnny Walker's athleticism isn't a walk in the park,
For sure this new event will be lit, I only wish Magomed Ankalaev to be more active with his striking, or even work out on pressuring Walker with takedowns, because Johnny Walker surely can be dominated on the ground but for sure he is ready with those takedowns,
Another fight that is going to be OK with me is the Co-Main Event Matheus Nicolau was recently defeated by Brandon Royval who was defeated by Alexandre Pantoja sure this fighter is interesting because before that lost to Royval he got 6 wins streaks, while Manel Kape has sheer will have 4 consecutive wins now, but against Nicolau this is a fight that is pretty much hard to predict that is why it is interesting,
Truth be told owengtam09 I was not too excited to see this card when I first heard about it, being the first fight event of the year and all with the fighters having all that time off for the holidays and two extra weeks afterwards you would be thinking octagon rust.
But no, it will be fine and the fights are starting to grow on me too.

Mape was the fight I was wanting to see aswell since he had three cancelled fights last year and then fought Felipe Dos Santos and won. So he is back on my interest of a fighter radar again.

As for all this Aspinall and Bones Jones talk, it has been all talk so far.
And that is all it has been and to me.
This is quite boring to hear from these two if they are not going to throw down.

For being one so early starting mid-afternoon, they are not having any early prelims which sounds strange but true.

Also guess what?
Manel Kape fight has been cancelled due to him missing at the weigh-ins yesterday. Roll Eyes
"Manel Kape has missed weight for his UFC Vegas 84 co-main event against Matheus Nicolau. Kape weighed in at 129.5 lbs - 3.5 lbs over the 126 lbs flyweight non-championship limit. The fight is now canceled."
source: https://www.si.com/fannation/mma/ufc/ufc-vegas-84-main-card-fighter-misses-weight-fined-25-of-salary
Well not so much of surprise with his last year success rate at getting into the octagon being a quarter. Cheesy

Still have some good fights to look forward too. So here are those markets in anticipation for them:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/mma/ufc/ufc-fight-night-ankalaev-vs-walker-2/matches

Well, for me I am OK with this and I am thankful that we had something like this, and right now the Co-Main Event was canceled because of Manel Kape missing weight but It was OK with me I was going to bet for the Co-Main but because it was canceled I am going with the next Main Card available, I was glad that I bet late,

Now here are my picks for the UFC Fight Night Ankalaev vs. Walker

Magomed Ankalaev (1.19) VS Johnny Walker (4.80)

OK for this fight Johnny Walker looks fast and tall compared to Magomed Ankalaev, but for me, Magomed Ankalaev is still the more technical between the two and with that wrestling for me Magomed has more power with his striking a knockout artist, so this fight can end with a knockout or a submission for Magomed Ankalaev, but if Johnny Walker can be nimble and could evade Ankalaev Striking and defended all those takedowns there is a tendency that this fight could again end with a decision win for Ankalev aswell, so my pick is Magomed Ankalev,

Jim Miller (1.67) VS Gabriel Benitez (2.21)

For me Jim Miller even in his 40 age he is still good at his striking and has wrestled for me you can not see that he is a declining fighter and many still like him to win this fight for sure Jim Miller can do this one, while Gabriel Benitez is also great actually if he keeps his distance and used the range with kicks and with those strikes and could accumulate good output he can win this fight, but if Miller can take this on the ground he can surely get this because Benitez weakness will be on the ground but for sure if Jim Miller could still take this on the ground and Benitez doesn't have great takedown defense then my pick is Jim Miller,

Ricky Simon (1.55) VS Mario Bautista (2.48)

In this fight, Mario Bautista has great striking he also has great scrambling in the ground but for sure not as good of a wrestler as Ricky Simon, although Ricky Simon just got decent striking he surely has great wrestling that will be his weapon, and bread and butter for this fight while Mario Bautista but for sure that clinch is what he has, but if Ricky Simon can get this fight to the ground he can surely get this because he has great wrestling than Bautista for sure that is why my pick is Ricky Simon,

Yup! This is the 1st fight of the year and yes there might be some who are not really interested in seeing the rematch for Ankalaev VS Walker but there are some who because there is no certain available event are excited that there are right now, sure if this is a bigger event that we got in the start of the year the next event will not be appreciated for sure so a fight night like this will be appreciated by some, because right now they are thankful to have an event, because of the long wait,

Mape was the fight I was wanting to see aswell since he had three cancelled fights last year and then fought Felipe Dos Santos and won. So he is back on my interest of a fighter radar again.

Are you talking about Manel Kape? if so his opponent was Matheus Nicolau who is also a great fighter even though he got lost against Brandon Royval it doesn't mean that he will not do well against Manel Kape for sure he will do great as they already face each other on March 13, 2021, and it was a clear close match but I think Matheus Nicolau did well with his takedowns and now that they are back maybe I would go with Matheus Nicolau for this one,

As for all this Aspinall and Bones Jones talk, it has been all talk so far.

UFC Fight Night: Ankalaev vs. Walker

This time Ankalaev will not give Johnny the patience, no more No contest, times wasted. They both do their best to KO each. Extend to 6 rounds if possible.
Six rounds, that will be a first!
Johnny has the cardio and he did get robbed in his last fight by the early stoppage from a misinterpretation by the  referee. So it will be interesting to see what his mindset is like for this fight.

As for the other fights with Bones and Aspinall. Those are still too far away, also with speculation on who these fighter's opponents will be, it seems we aren't even certain within the final fight week from last year's cards showed us with so many cancellations prior due to illness or injury.
UFC 300 schedule is really a mess and many are just giving up on trying to guess what will happen they have been talking about International fight week preparations instead.

While waiting for UFC Fight Night Ankalaev versus Walker here is a good review of what happened in 2023. Also to refresh out memory with happened last year.

UFC Year In Review - 2023 | PART 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXszE5reWcg

UFC Year In Review - 2023 | PART 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcdy8QIRtJ8

Upon watching it all I am still amazed at how Islam Makhachev vs Alexander Volkanovski performed on their first meeting. High level standing kickboxing but their chins are just too tough that they can recover fast.

And how about Ruthless Robbie Lawler's retirement in the second part of that video? Ended it with a KO. I think that's the best way to exit the UFC. Strong! It's a sad day but also a beautiful story will be spoken forever. That dude was one of the heavy punchers in the UFC.

There's more on those videos, it will definitely jog your memories, and maybe some tears will come out. Cheesy

For sure I will be watching this later as it will surely give me a hint on what is happening right now with the UFC, I am somewhat new and not that kind of really don't have any idea about it because I am watching the fights just not posting it here, and I just recently manage to see the UFC thread in the gambling section so here I am right now because I  thought that the gambling section doesn't have any discussions like this, and it will just be discussion with gambling and how you can gamble, I think I was wrong all along,

Anyway, these video clips will surely come in handy for me as to how and where could I start with the discussion here in the UFC, so thanks for these because it is surely a help for me,

Khamzat Chimaev is not invincible after his fight against Kamaru Usman although he won that fight he was injured and was sick and not feeling well, and that was from the source that I have got why we're not going to see Chimaev while he was getting better so the fight between Costa VS Chimaev was change to Robert Whittaker instead, it was a real bummer but I guess we could see him again when he comes back,

I remember Khamzat Chimaev was a beast when he fought Li Jingliang in 2021, it was an awesome fight for sure after that he got long breaks and fought 2 times in 2022, then last year just 1 fight, and now here he is having problems and sick, I truly will not forget what he did to that poor china guy Jingliang, as he rug dolled that guy up while talking to Dana White in the corner,

Because we are now in the midst of an event for the UFC this week will be an interesting fight and this is a rematch to the unfinished fight they have here is the event,

Jon jones seem to be trying his best to avoid any decent fighters who might break his unbeaten record,

Tom aspinall called him out on X

Apparently stipe and jon are both dodging tom, really wana see jon vs tom now lol  Grin

Or we could see a Tom versus Tom kind of situation but I am just Joking for sure Jon Jones is not really interested in someone who has the interim Championship, but because Jon Jones doesn't care at all he is ignoring Tom Aspinal, and because Tom Aspinall is challenging Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic out of nowhere many fans do agree but for sure Jones is saying such things because he got the back of the UFC so he isn't really affected to something like this maybe a little but for sure it means nothing to him, all fights is settled by the UFC and Aspinall is not really the Champion yet,

I don't know if you could call it dodging Tom. But UFC fans could tell Tom is in no way gonna have a chance to win if Dana puts them in the cage. Dana decides on the fights, he couldn't see Tom as the PPV type. Stipe and Jones are preferable.

For sure Bony Jones got his point in saying that Tom Aspinall is in no position at all, for the UFC will surely decide the situation on the fights and many know that because Aspinall just got the Interim Championship Jon Jones is still champion and I feel like Tom Aspinall feels like he is not the real champion by getting something like this, but yeah for sure all Tom Aspinall can do is just way

This time Ankalaev will not give Johnny the patience, no more No contest, times wasted. They both do their best to KO each. Extend to 6 rounds if possible.

I really wish Magomed Ankalaev would be more aggressive in this fight as this is happening because he is not giving his all and the way a combat sambo does to his opponent after those 2 result I think Ankalaev will now think twice in not heading all out in every fight he has,

Chandler's wait seems worth it after all. And they are both inactive for a long time so they probably are the best to fight against each other. The whole year 2023 Chandler just skipped all possible fights only for this but not on UFC 300.

Dana is likely looking forward to a big cut before letting Conor fight with Pacquaio. This is bigger than fighting Buakaw the Muay Thai Champ and if indeed the Saudis are interested, it will be a bigger hype.

It seems that the Conor McGregor VS Michael Chandler fight is going to be in another event so it will be another long wait for Chandler it seems because UFC 300 will be on April 13, 2024, while the UFC: McGregor vs. Chandler is set to be on June 29, 2024, well according to Conor McGregor but it is still an unconfirmed rumor, but as for Conor McGregor this is just what we got,

If that Conor McGregor VS Manny Pacquiao fight turns out to be true that is maybe Dana White can put on some promotion and get a big cut, or some other promotions would take that fight instead if this all is just talk then we are not getting into something,

-snip-
Hilariously Conor McGregor wants to play in the 185lb, which is pretty much crazy for someone who is just starting with 145lb in the featherweight division
which is absolutely crazy, or yeah he might be just trolling with us and Michael Chandler, and laughing if Chandler can get into that weight class, for sure the month of June is far ahead and both fighters still have a lot of time to get into that weight class, but for sure if Michael Chandler can not make it into Middleweight I think he will show up with a less weight so yeah Conor McGregor will be a tough guy to crack,

Well, if Conor McGregor had said that they would fight in the 185 lbs maybe they would have, all this hyping from Conor McGregor is just making the fans lose more patience, it is likely just all talk and McGregor can surely promise something Grandeur like this but all we can do is wait and speculate, there is not much choice here, but if Chandler can not wait anymore maybe he can fight another fighter instead, he is not getting younger anymore and that strength of his will surely be worn down soon if he can not get a belt by that fight then Conor McGregor just wasted Chandler opportunity,

-snip-
I missed Khamzat Chimaev for sure that last fight he had was not that good against Kamaru Usman, or he was not feeling well at that time, it was like the passion and intensity were gone when he fought Usman, but I wish we could see the old Khamzat Chimaev fighting Paulo Costa, where you can see the hunger in fighting anyone in his eyes, for sure I wish that his fight against Kamaru Usman was just a fluke and he was just having a bad day that night, but yeah wish he can Smesh back again in his fight against Paulo Costa,

While waiting for UFC Fight Night Ankalaev versus Walker here is a good review of what happened in 2023. Also to refresh out memory with happened last year.

UFC Year In Review - 2023 | PART 1

UFC Year In Review - 2023 | PART 2

Cheesy
