I did well, I'm not complaining about my earnings, but I was more successful with the preliminary fights than with the main fights.


Man, thanks to sportsbet and you initiative for that great opportunity to participate in those FB... it's always cool to be able to boost our funds with those extra money, of course we have to get it right first but the important thing is to have the chances.

I liked the Ortega vs. Lopez fight, but I expected more from Ortega, after this fight I don't expect anything from him, it seems like his time is running out. Lopez behaved more reservedly and didn't rush, didn't make hasty decisions, complete superiority over his opponent.

Before the main fight of the evening, I couldn't decide on a favorite, on the one hand I preferred O'Malley, but on the other hand I understood that Dvalishvili is also very good. O'Malley couldn't adjust his aim from the very beginning, Dvalishvili moved well around the ring, knocked Sean down on the canvas several times, overall it was boring.

Diego Lopes's fight is one of the best there. I was looking at some chatboxes before that fight began and all I saw was people saying that Brian Ortega has a glass chin. I doubt that, Lopes is just strong and he timed that punch perfectly that made Ortega wobble.
We might see Lopes in a title match very soon.

How I wish there's a technical judge who would give points on that but it will become a questionable result and I don't think they want that.
Most of the movements come from Grasso even though she is pinned down, she was the one working as hell even though all the weight of Shevchenko was tiring her.

Anyway, the next fight is UFC Fight Night but it's still far. Moicano versus Saint-Dennis.

A couple of days after the event many do not think it delivered on the hype Dana and UFC said it would be to everybody who witnessed this historic event.

Was it worth the now $20 million price tag from the $17 million the CEO estimated it would of cost his company at the very start?

Having watched it live I would have to say it was like going to the IMAX but with a curved screen surrounding you.

As for the fights, there were alot of upsets in both the womens and mens fights all night long.

Esteban Ribovics defeating Daniel Zellhuber was one of the greatest fights even the experts and announcers who were former fighters since the organization began mentioned this post fights.
Ignacio Bahamondes knocking out Manuel Torres was an astonishing result since it all happened so quick and over in the first round.
Ketlen Souza submitting Yazmin Jauregui was another shocker since you can see the odds from when I posted them right before the fights began. A huge underdog Ketlen Souza was unstoppable in this dissection to one of the Mexicans predicted to win their matchups easily.

Another Mexican fighter who lost on Noche was Norma Dumont defeating Irene Aldana.
Lastly the co-main event saw Valentina Shevchenko recovering her title from Alexa Grasso making her the last Mexican to lose at Noche.

That does sound like a good night of fights too me!
Definitely worth a rewatch so one can just concentrate on the actual fights and not be mesmerized by the bright lights and loudness of the entire event.

She tried but for me Grasso tried much harder than her opponent. And that should mean something to the judges, I believe she took at least 2 rounds and they must have had doubts in 1 round for her. It's not possible.

She is back and at 37 years old so many are saying she might be retiring with the belt on her waist just like Nunes did soon.
Valentina is nearing 40 so many fighters bodies can't condition like they use to when they were in their 20s and early 30s. It is much more harder to weight cut before a fight too.

Yeah, we both won that bet for Lopes, I think many of us did.

Alexa Grasso was so frustrated when she could not even get out of Shevchenko pinning her down. I thought she could get that win by submission through guillotine choke but it's not that tight although Shevchenko's face is getting a bit red.
Grasso actually showcased a good offense while being pinned down and I think many will learn from her. Still, the point system is an important part of the sport even though Shevchenko didn't hurt her that bad.

I am more amazed at how many languages Schevchenko knew during that post-fight interview with Joe. English, Russian, Spanish, and Thai. Damn, that lady is intelligent.

I only got Diego Lopes's right, but his odds ended up compensating the other bets. But Grasso and Omalley's fights were really bad, especially Grasso's, where she was performing well.

As much as possible, when you bet on sports, you should have at least familiarity of the athletes, the fighters or the teams involved. Because if not, the likelihood of relying on the odds is real. But do remember, even if the bookie is giving low odds, it doesn't mean, it will always happen as we have upsets. So if you do know those boxers or fighters, you can also make your own assessment of the match. Though you can read the prediction sites or check the odds given, but it is always best to have knowledge of the players themselves.


I believe the kind of tactic of going into technicality is the aim of some fighters inside the ring. Once they see they can't knock out their opponents easy, they would resort to point system to get ahead. And that I can say, will really give a boring fight. Most of the fans want a toe-to-toe fight for the fight to be alive. But we can't totally eradicate such tactic of some boxers to go on being a technical fighter, if he thinks he has this kind of edge.

Got them and used them although I lost my initial bet. Damn I got no clue for most of the UFC matches as I only bet on it based on the odds, it would be perfect if I win that one as well



Now that I think of this, I would have gotten so much higher odds if I parlay both of them. Anyway kudos to @rdbase on letting me know about this event from Sportsbet, I wouldnt have known about this if he didnt message me 

Bigtime bummer for Sean O’Malley. Suga got himself beat up with some pretty embarrassing moments. Hopefully he bounces back from this and he doesn’t find himself with the yipps. The early fights were great though. Some good punches thrown tonight. A shame Suga couldn’t create something memorable but the Sphere was definitely awesome.

Thankfully, I made a good parlay for Raul Rosas Jr. and Diego Lopes and both those fights are actually entertaining.

Are you guys entertained by the Co-main event and the Main event? I am not. It's kind of boring. What Shevchenko did, Merab did too and both of them are winners.
Both used strategy against their opponents using the point system to win their fights. That's not what I want when I am watching UFC. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Take down and ground control while exhausting their opponents. That's what the new champions did and it was successful. Grasso was great even with his back on the ground but Shevchenko was just too strong for her.

Did anyone notice that Merab was kissing O Malley's back? That was a huge disrespect and something I wasn't expecting from Merab. Truth be told, he is a little weird and brain isn't the most developed part of his body. But as a fighter, he is amazing.
Congrats everyone who had a bet on Merab and won like me. Next time do not underestimate him. He is a guy that went through hell and became a champion. He was working in construction, physically very demanding job and then after finishing the work, he was going in the GYM to train. This is something that probably only Merab can do and that hunger, work, dedication alone really makes him deserving champion!

It's Ronaldo Rodriguez 2nd fight in UFC and they say he did an impressive win in his first. He certainly stole the show even in the press con. And like MMA gurus thumbnail, a star is born. It really doesn't look like he is going to turn UFC 306 the most successful event but I think it's enough to make Mexicans interested in the fights.

My bets are O'Malley by knockout, Alexa Grasso by points and Diego Lopes by points. I think it's quite conservative, I've seen that some people are betting on Ortega's experience, but Diego trains a lot and will definitely make up for it in this fight. I feel that the other bets are safe.

The cage is huge for O'Malley to move and duck out of Merab's grappling tactics. So when Merab comes in he can do what he does best and that is snipe his opponent.

I can’t say I’m familiar with most of the names on this card but I am excited for the actual event. The Sphere in Vegas seems like a big deal and something that will be remembered forever in the UFC. They should’ve gotten Connor to fight… I think Suga will show up and get a KO to keep it memorable. He has so much length over Merab I think it will be too much to overcome.
