No mining UTC for me today, such high diff!
As a UK miner there are currently more sensible directions to point my rigs in. I'm a hobby miner who normally sells a little (to contribute to electric costs) and keeps a little to speculate (because i believe a coin has a future). Based on todays diff the price would need to double, at least to reach abreak even. Which means I'd get more UTC if I exchanged fiat (that I'd normally spend on electric) and purchased UTC on an exchange or mined another coin and purchased UTC with the proceeds.
It has been a fun 3/4 months mining UTC, I have enjoyed the ride so far, I'll just keep hold of my bags for now and hope the price increases to a point where UK mining becomes viable again & I can increase my UTC stash!

What is going on with all this coin like swarm,madesafecoin,nushares,fuelcoin which from very low marketcap they skyrocket like there is no tommorow and ultracoin fights very hard to maintain a market cap of 600k-900k...like i said we need to be above 2mil of marketcap to draw attention and this need to be done asap.regards

Again a very great opportunity for Ultracoin, this time to attend at The North American Bitcoin Conference this January, and also a great progress to see the new upcoming developments with the Ultracoin wallet and a ton of improvements over the old wallet.
The only thing that should happen now is that Ultracoin expand into the top 15 of Coinmarketcap and that worldwide investors and traders will notice Ultracoin more and more, appreciate Ultracoin higher and will pick it up as their new solid and precious investment.
The rest will follow automatically after that.
So let's all be realistic and proud, a altcoin (UTC) that’s now more than 10 months “old” and is still in the top 30 of Coinmarketcap, a coin that has a strong community and a serious and dedicated hardworking management team can only be a winning coin and a coin that’s here to stay.

As a side note, I love the look on the face of family members and friends when you introduce them to BTC xD I try to speak as slowly and clearly as possible of course. I always introduce them to UTC as well!

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Behind the scenes we are working on some new developments with the Ultracoin wallet. In this much needed overhaul, there will be a ton of improvements over the old wallet including bug fixes, CPU and memory leak fixes, wallet and staking lag fixes, and other added features that will help secure the network. Perhaps one of the most exciting circumstances of this update, is the possibility that an iOS and Android wallet may now be possible with the new lowered resource demands of the software. Looks like Mac users will be getting some love too. Just finished setting up the dev environment in a test VM and compiled the UTC wallet both headless and with GUI. It has a ways to go yet as I have to get all the nonstandard libraries static-linked- like boost, bdb, miniupnpc, etc and an install package ready too.
