Image is showing fine for me though sometimes they need to be resized for being to big.

While I like the thought behind it I wonder what will qualify as "reputable".

Well that's why we should consider removing the rule.

@Wardrick

PS: If you're going to go through my entire thread and delete all my "bumps" that I did not delete, then do it for all the other threads too. I don't care if they're deleted or not, but it pisses me off that these other threads have hundreds of "bumps", while I rarely bump my thread yet it was given more attention than these other people who obviously spam there thread with unneeded replies and bumps. Obviously someone targeted my thread out of competiton, smart move but I can smell the weakness.

if you reported them I'm sure they'll get deleted. not being an asshole or anything but you being mad for mere bumps are a show of weakness. again, not trying to be an asshole.

No, I just get mad when rules are applied to me, while they are not for others. You're probably right that if I went through and reported all of them that they'd be deleted. Someone must have a lot of time on there hands, I don't have the time to do that.

Also moderators do a great job here and it seems to be more of a available resources problem than the mods as it takes a lot of time to go through and delete the bumps if they are not reported. Not a very big deal, but nonetheless maybe an alteration of the rules to better represent forum activity.

Report them. If you see a thread with several unremoved bumps just report one and note that there are other unremoved bumps as well. Complaining here literally takes more time, than writing a single report per thread you encounter anyway.

@SaltySpitoon

Something to add, a pending update on an outdated rule: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sales-of-accounts-and-invites-to-invite-only-sites-134779

We really haven't followed that rule in some time, requiring a user to be reputable or be vouched before being able to sell accounts isn't a very ideal method. Based on implied meaning from some comments Theymos has made in the past, the issue isn't with account/invite sellers themselves, its with the possibility that the accounts will be hacked.

We don't care about other company's TOS, but hacking is pretty much globally illegal, and under the no illegal goods rule, hacked accounts are not allowed to be sold here. A few warning signs that accounts are hacked, are the notorious "Don't change the account details" or Log out when you are done, etc lines.

Of course, still waiting on Theymos' clarification on that one, but it was an issue that came up recently and the staff discussed it and gathered info leading us to the conclusion above.

While I like the thought behind it I wonder what will qualify as "reputable".

That's just you being irrational. Moderators are supposed to and currently are (AFAIK) fairly treating everyone (and equally). You have to understand that there are a lot of factors involved, for example:
1) Complexity of report (e.g. referral link vs. cases of constant trolling which require evaluation).
2) Rank of reported user (reported newbies get handled very quickly).
3) Activity of moderator in certain period.
4) Other.
We are certainly trying our best.

Also moderators do a great job here and it seems to be more of a available resources problem..
The new forum should have much better moderating tools.

On the other hand... if someone doesn't know about that rule or this thread then he would feel treated very bad... or made to shut up. So it only might put on to sentiments about the moderation.
Not really. All that usually happens is that someone reports the thread and it gets moved.

Though that can't be done when someone is asking inside an otherwise legit thread. The post would be reported and deleted probably. Though maybe the moderator added a notice about why it was moved.

I am having trouble finding a source, however it appears that the following rule is missing:
33. Posts about the moderation of a thread, or about the moderation of the forum in any thread outside of Meta is automatically off topic
I don't see why this should be a rule. It is indeed missing, but it would be a better fit it was added to the Guidelines for threads.

I had reported a couple of posts in a thread outside of Meta that were discussing the moderation of the forum, such posts were subsequently deleted and this thread was created.

If possible, please add to the OP.

I think you might be right. It should be known that such things should be discussed in meta. On the other hand... if someone doesn't know about that rule or this thread then he would feel treated very bad... or made to shut up. So it only might put on to sentiments about the moderation.

Though it doesn't matter when it get moderated anyway. A rule might be helpful, will probable not lead to more reports.

Should bumps for 3/4/5 year old threads be reported? I've been seeing some posts being made on old threads like these which don't make any sense whatsoever... But there isn't really a rule for that as far as I could see.
Yes. Technically not always, but I'd say that in 99% of the cases that I've seen so far they were useless necro-bumps. These are usually created by bots, or spammers. Only in rare cases where the person really does contribute and does not want to create a new thread are they left intact. You could always send them to a moderator directly if you aren't sure.

You might consider moving or closing the thread, rather than arbitrarily deleting posts in the pretence that the Wall Observer has a topic.
I don't moderate it.

You don't seem to understand how this process works. Obviously you are allowed to mention it to a certain degree as long as you mostly stay on topic. However, in your case your post has nothing to do with either Bitcoin or the topic (I assume). Keep in mind that moderators can't keep track of every post as well.

Would you like me to run a program to compile a list of the hundreds of contributions containing the terms ETH, Ether or Ethereum from that thread for you? I can help you sterilize your forum.

Altcoin discussions shouldn't be in Bitcoin boards.

Perhaps somebody might explain what is wrong with this post that it requires deletion from the Wall Observer Thread. Do you have fructose intolerance?

Wow, ETH is still performing...

When I come to this forum and see every other post mention ETH, it indicates to me that the fruit has fully ripened.
