they are low quality but it should be able to handle the watts you ask.

do you have any other psu's on hand.

I have 1xCorsair CX850M and 1x Ultra X4 850W. I was thinking of switch to those PSU's to test. To see if it is the Miner or the PSU's. I have been thinking it was my settings in the miner this whole time, but I am starting to wonder if it is not the PSU's.

So I purchase and Sp20 Jackson back in October and have been trying to get this thing to run and I am having alot of trouble understanding how the voltages break down when setting this miner. Any ways I have 2 Corsair CX750's. Each are 744 Watts, 12 Volts, 62 Amps. I am trying to find out what settings i should put this miner at so that it can remain stable. I really think I am doing my math wrong when it comes to figuring out what my Watts vs Voltage settings should be. Any help or pointing me to some good reference material would be greatly appreciated.

you are already at the right place.
I don't have links ready since I sold my SP20E, but there are pages and pages of settings on this very thread.
1. don't think about it as a calculation, but more like tweaking.
2. when tweaking, it is better to change just one parameter at the time, otherwise you would not know what cause the resulting hashing change
3. here were my settings (to do this, click on advanced settings button):
Fan speed: 20 (you could try 10 if your ambient is 72-75F or lower, mine was 80-83F)
Start volts unit 1: 0.642
unit2: 0.642
unit3: 0.642
unit4: 0.642

Voltage limit: 0.647

max PSU Power unit 1: 165
unit 2: 153 <-you see, this was specific to my machine only because at higher power this unit was overheating (you can try setting all at 165 initially)
unit 3: 165
unit 4: 165

restart miner if rate is below :500

mining rate with these setting was 1222 Gh with 650-660W, which is close to most efficient , at least for my machine.

after miner reaches steady state, you need to check ASIC stats page and make sure that none of the chips have temperatures more than 115C (it does not matter within 85-115 range, anything there is good) and it is also better if mhz ratings are in white, not yellow, but yellow is acceptable (although with yellow there is a small drop in efficiency).

I also suggest to dust-off the insides, but ONLY using compressed air DUST OFF. This improved some chips behavior in my machine after few months of usage. If your miner is used, you cannot be sure how well it was treated beforehand.



I am still reading through the forum to try and understand it better, but my main issue is since my psu's can only push 62amps each total. When setting the voltage should I divide the amps by 4 so that each proc is 15.5 amps. lol I am not an electrician so this is new territory for me.

If you connected both, then you have plenty of power, don't worry about 62amp (which is basically 750w/12v).
The max power usage for this machine (SP20) is 1200w anyway, so 600w/each of your PSUs, which is 50A. you have plenty of reserves.
However, i don't rec running SP20 at default since it is uneconomical
With settings as above I was running on just one Corsair CX 750, but you have to start with two FIRST to make the underclocking settings.

Thing is I am getting ALOT of dc2dc_i2c errors. I most my miner will go is for about 10 mins then it becomes unresponsive. I can't even log into it at this point. Thats why I also posted the System recovery log.

I also suggest to dust-off the insides, but ONLY using compressed air DUST OFF. This improved some chips behavior in my machine after few months of usage. If your miner is used, you cannot be sure how well it was treated beforehand.



I am still reading through the forum to try and understand it better, but my main issue is since my psu's can only push 62amps each total. When setting the voltage should I divide the amps by 4 so that each proc is 15.5 amps. lol I am not an electrician so this is new territory for me.

So I purchase and Sp20 Jackson back in October and have been trying to get this thing to run and I am having alot of trouble understanding how the voltages break down when setting this miner. Any ways I have 2 Corsair CX750's. Each are 744 Watts, 12 Volts, 62 Amps. I am trying to find out what settings i should put this miner at so that it can remain stable. I really think I am doing my math wrong when it comes to figuring out what my Watts vs Voltage settings should be. Any help or pointing me to some good reference material would be greatly appreciated.

you are already at the right place.
I don't have links ready since I sold my SP20E, but there are pages and pages of settings on this very thread.
1. don't think about it as a calculation, but more like tweaking.
2. when tweaking, it is better to change just one parameter at the time, otherwise you would not know what cause the resulting hashing change
3. here were my settings (to do this, click on advanced settings button):
Fan speed: 20 (you could try 10 if your ambient is 72-75F or lower, mine was 80-83F)
Start volts unit 1: 0.642
unit2: 0.642
unit3: 0.642
unit4: 0.642

Voltage limit: 0.647

max PSU Power unit 1: 165
unit 2: 153 <-you see, this was specific to my machine only because at higher power this unit was overheating (you can try setting all at 165 initially)
unit 3: 165
unit 4: 165

restart miner if rate is below :500

mining rate with these setting was 1222 Gh with 650-660W, which is close to most efficient , at least for my machine.

Any of you guys knows of a single PSU that can drive the SP20E?

Seasonic X1250 (Gold) or their 1200 watt Platinum unit should work.
Many folks like the EVGA 1300 G2 gold unit, though it's a hair less efficient than the X1250.
 The EVGA tends to cost a little less than the Seasonic gold is probably what makes it more popular.


 I tend to be conservative on PS usage, never run them real close to capasity, so my pair of X1250s running one Antminer S5 and half of my SP20 each is definitely overkill. 8-)


The G2 is actually the one a hair more efficient, and proportionally more efficient if you run them both at the same draw, because of the 1300's higher rating, for instance the x-1250 will go down to 87.x% at 1200w fed and the G2 at almost 89%. The warranty is better as well.

But since they are so similar in term of performance, i'd recommend going with the price here, but definitively favor the G2 if its same price or cheaper. The extra 50watts rated is good here for a single psu running a SP20 too.

Thanks for the information man. I decided to get the G2 and I look forward to seeing how the Jackson performs after. I have been having some issues with the speed kind of dipping around a lot and I know temps are not going through the roof or anything so I am wondering if it has to do with my power source.



What speeds do you clock at?

Going past 1400 is pretty much a crap shoot.

OK so here is a screenshot of the hash rate of an SP20E I have running in my lap and connected to ANTPOOL. I apologize for the HUGE dip in the chart but I have no idea what happened around that point. Internet appeared to be up but running but operating very slowly, it was NOT just my SP20E having issues so it is NOT related to the SP20E and can be ignored.

How work after do it ?

the biggest heatsink issue is 2 screws not 4  

the repasting of the chips does not help much.

I would think really good pads are better.

but frankly underclock the gear to 1250gh solves over heating pretty much every time

^^^this and dusting it off with compressed air-I noticed when it run even at the same speed for a while(~1220gh), chip temp slowly rise (over months).
I was able to decrease some chip temp by 5C with everything else being equal, and it is super-cheap too (a can is $5 or something like this)

with time passing by, re-pasting will be recommended!

it's poor contact between the asic and radiator, the pressure is minimal! the higher, the better!
