Temps are really marginal on some of those ASIC already (125c is the spec, you have 5 at 120c).
Looks like you either have the fan turned down too much, the room your SP20 is in is too hot, the fan is starting to die and not flowing it's rated airflow, or something is obstructing the airflow.

i can't seem to get my miner above 1.1 thz.

Asics showing 125c all the time, what should i do ? i have repasted it recently might have done a bad job ? .

Temps are around 38c / 69 c.

here you go, i managed to get up to 1.3 but i would like to get it to highest hash rate possible, power is not a problem, it's currently on a 2000w 80+ server psu so there is power enough for it

Is there anyway to undervolt/underclock these SP20s so they are at the same noise level as an S2/S3 ?

You can't set the clock directly, it's controlled automatically by software based on other settings.

Voltage control IS built into the SP20E interface, I would presume the same on the SP20 (not E).

Fan speed control can be set "auto" or to specific % level in 10% steps.

I have mine very underclocked right now to maximise profits at my very high summer electric rate - .59v start, .595 max voltage, TH and watts vary a bit usually around 800-820 TH at 360-372 watts or so, and the fan on "auto" tends to sit on a very low speed. I can't even guess at the noise level though as my SP20E is sandwitched between a pair of Antminer S5s with 3 more S5's on the next shelf down.

I have the opportunity to get these SP20s at a decent rate. Only problem is I mine in my apartment and noise is the number one concern.

Mining Rate: 1219.76Ghs
Temp Front / Back T,B    27 °C / 70,71 °C
Fan Speed    Auto
Start Voltage    0.635 / 0.635 / 0.635 / 0.635
Max Voltage    0.64
Max Watts    280 / 280 / 280 / 280

fan is at 6%, meaning silent

Yes, If you are willing to sacrifice some Gh in favor of lower noise. lower w/Gh is the benefit.
You can easily get to 1300GH/780-800W with fan at 20-30 or 1200-1230GH with fan at 10.
The latter setting produces a humming soft noise (~60-61dB at 1m distance) instead of 'metallic' noise at higher fan settings.
Automatic setting makes fans going up and down, so although final could get as low as setting 6, but the noise keeps changing, so fan 10 was best for me.
I have family walking around at setting 10 for many months now-not a single complaint, but they absolutely hated Sp20 at fan setting 90, similarly to unmodded S5.

Has anyone used the DS1200 power supply that the SP30s use on an SP20?

I have the 12V wired up, but am looking for the correct jumpering to turn on the supply

Thanks,

~nh

I did a fan mod for 1 sp20.

I pulled the fan out completely and added a silverstone to the external end of the miner.

Are you sticking with a Pull configuration? Have you tried switching to Push, or Push+Pull?

pull and while it is quiet it is not quite correct.

 next will be push- pull

Did you ever try this? I can find a follow up to this with the search function.

I would quite like to know how low you can drop the dB with 2 silverstone FHP-141.

GAVE UP ON GETTING SP20'S super quiet.   settled with the stock fans and ran at 6% speed undeclocked

Thats unfortunate. Was there no gain or its just that it wasn't worth the price of 2 FHP-141?

if you did not mind an underclock to around 1000gh it ran too hot at 1200gh.  as for control I used external psu and got it very quiet .  I also kept both silverstones external and fully pulled the internal fan

Thank you for the details. I might stick to S5's in that price range.

Having an underclocked S20 could be of interest but its a bit expensive compared to getting S3's and maybe even S5 or such.

The problem with the FHP-141 is that you will also need a external system to power them since the sp20 fan is using a special connector.

You will also need to find a way to make the airflow correct into the sp20. This is a lot of work but you could try.

This is the "special connector" used by the SP20.
