Regarding the whole anti alt coin thing.... I can see both sides of this argument, and honestly I'm probably more for the alt coins chilling the hell out eventually and having 2 or 3 solid coins. That being said, I have no shame in admitting that I will jump on new alt-coins as soon as they come out and seem legit (or at least not a scam) in an effort to make a bit more profit. I actually do really like the whole idea of crypto currency, and to be honest nothing I have seen makes bitcoin seem anymore legit to me than any others that have come out so far, except that it was the first one. But I also think that as long as people are just copying coins and not doing anything innovative (other than changing difficulties, block sizes, etc.), this trend of 1-2 new alt coins a week will eventually die out.

Again, I won't deny that one of the main reasons I got into this was to make a few bucks, but I also am strongly supportive of decentralized currency. I don't know if Bitcoin will end up sticking around as #1 or not, but Bitcoin will definitely be what winds up revolutionizing money, even if some derivative of it ends up taking over.

When you say 'people' you really mean 'people with 50 mh/s or more GPU mining farms' right.. and even though you prob DO know this: That makes it technically impossible for someone on say 300kh/s to ever complete a block that is not invalid. So.. again. How is this not premine?

That's how every coin gets started, Bitcoin included, it starts with 10 or so people, then grows. Bitcoin was mined for a long time by 10 or so people, before it had more. Though I can say with certainty that bitbar had more than 10 people mining it after just 10 minutes or so.

Sometimes I wonder if people are intentionally daft or if it just comes naturally. How stupid can you get that you launch a new 'ASIC Proof coin' with 'fast retargeting' and 'lots of new features that makes it impossible to pre-mine'.

Then you set diff ultra low, and throw several 20MH/s clusters at it and go 'it's not premined, it's ultra rare' and 10 minutes later people are selling them by the 100s in the altcoin forum.

Some people are so brazenly fucking retarded and greedy they should just be ashamed of themselves, and so should their family.
