I want to invest on this coin cause it has a big potential to be the next superstar. Anyone who can guide on how to invest on this coin. I would love to be part on this promising coin.
You can start investing once they open their ICO on 20th of November. You will have a chance to get a 20% bonus by then, quite a good deal.
You can see more of it's details in their ico page here: https://ico.spectreproject.io/

A revolution which is very good and very helpful to all the people that are in the world. A receipt or possession of the coin that is very clear and credible, allows to have a good level of security and also a desaign/features that convince everyone. I am pleased and hopefully in the future it could evolve with good and consistent about what it wants to land on

I am interested in the anon coins and Spectrecoin can have a great future in the crypto world.. if you guys do the things right.

I've read that this coin is derived from SDC. And this concerns me. Shadowcash was called quite some times as scammy, shady and broken.
I don't care of what SDC team does, I care of the code you inherited.

There were posts claiming that SDC ring signatures are somewhat reversible, for example.
Did you guys check those claims, check the code, maybe fixed it? Or you have plans in that direction?

I think that it's a direction to focus on (and clear up) if you want to have your potential investors more interested in this project.

Yes, that was a bug found by the XMG dev, shnoe, and this was fixed so the ring signatures are healthy in the code we use. SDC had an issue with certain transactions before the fix but they fixed that and our code has all updates up until 3-4 weeks ago. All the other privacy features are good.
Bug: https://shnoe.wordpress.com/2016/02/11/de-anonymizing-shadowcash-and-oz-coin/
SDC acknowledge the bug: https://blog.shadowproject.io/2016/02/14/all-is-not-lost/
Fixed: https://blog.shadowproject.io/2016/03/07/development-update-march-phoenix/

So, the codebase for SPEC will not have any compromised transaction as the fix is in at the start.

Having being part of the signature I really want to get a perfect understanding of this project and even see how I could be part of it in a more active way in other to be a beneficiary in the long run.

So OP, are we going to download a wallet or something because from what I read on the first page, there are different branches to this project, the coin part and another P2P part. How do these part connect?

I have explained this before and there is a white paper coming, but here you go:

(1) Spectrecoin [SPEC] - anonymous, untraceable cryptocurrency w/ PoSv3 and an advanced wallet

(2) A mobile platform / app (under the name Spectre.Cash) on Android and iOS aka. Spectrecoin Alternative Remittance System. This is a remittance system using SPEC as a settlement currency.

Two different entities but linked, if that makes sense. Wait for the white paper, should be out before 20/11/2016.

Is it possible to add Komodo to the comparison on your website because from what I understood they are both a fork from ShadowCash so I can't see the difference If that's actually the case.

As far as I understand, Komodo uses parts of Zcash as a base for their anonymous transactions so I believe that it can be compared to Zcash in terms of privacy features. Someone correct me if this is not right. I have read the Komodo white paper but it doesn't really make it clear what the code base is built on but I very much doubt that it's SDC.

Hi mandica I was wondering who Behind on Spectrecoin project can you showed they profile like linkedin or social media profile or that only you Cheesy avtually I quite interested about your project

The best thing to do is to join us on Slack: https://slack.spectreproject.io/

We are all there, I am 'Spectreproject' and the other team members are 'jbg' and 'lulworm' so come and chat and we can answer your questions  Smiley One other team member chooses not to engage with the public.

I am the spokesperson as it where at this point in time. We believe strongly in personal choice and privacy so at this point in time, three members using a 'nickname' and one that will not be public. Judge by the code when GitHub is public.

Another shitcoin?

Thanks for the awesome and insightful contribution. But, no, no shit, just a brilliant coin with some mobile infrastructure to go with it.
So according to the OP you will be able to view your contacts on a local area map, how is this based? Say you don't want to be located or a phone that contains you as a contact is stolen and they can see where you are and know you have crypto, how is this secure? Seems like even if you don't do anything illegal and you buy something off craiglist and use contacts to meet the person and that other person gets in trouble you might have the police showing up and causing you a headache and possibly damaging your image. Not a good idea to me, gps locating is a stupid gimmick for crypto.

I think the issue here is firstly that you do not know how this system will work and secondly that it is obviously entirely voluntary if you want to use such an app to make a cash transfer. You get a flavour for what this is if you think Localbitcoins and Uber. It is a separate utility app that you can use if you choose and download from Playstore or App Store. It is separate from SPEC the currency which is a fully featured anonymous crypto with a desktop wallet. The desktop wallet for Windows and Mac or Linux obviously do not have any such features as location services. It isn't meant for Craiglist, its an app that will facilitate cash transfer, like a blockchain version of Hawala. There is no way to deduce the sender and receiver and no way to link the sender and receiver. If the police shows up at your door and grabs your computer they will not be able to see who you sent SPEC to unless you keep a record.

I hope that at least explains that there will be two pieces of software, (1) The 'normal' Spectrecoin desktop wallet for Windows, Mac and Linux much like the wallets your are used to and (2) A Spectrecoin mobile alternative remittance app for cash transfers, the only connection being that it uses SPEC as a settlement currency.

PS. Always encrypt your mobile phone if you have any personal information in it.

OP, since SPEC is an anonymous currency, at what markets do you plan to deploy the currency and how do you plan to do it? My first guess would be making it useful and market it to darknet market place merchants into accepting the coin as payment since it has anonymous features.

If you read the info published so far you will see that SPEC is meant for an alternative mobile remittance app for cash transfer. Obviously, once it's out in the wild any market could list SPEC as an option.

You guys realize that the SPEC ticker had already been used, right? SpecCoin. Probably dead now, but not likely that exchanges like Bittrex that previously had SPEC listed will list your coin with the same ticker, as it will create quite a bit of confusion.

I don't think there will be any confusion, there is no SPEC listed at any exchange as far as I know or on https://coinmarketcap.com/ among the 639 coins there.

We are aiming for major exchanges and we will get back to that soon. I think that Bittrex and Poloniex are interested in coins with a high volume and as SPEC has some real world usage, volume is likely so I expect SPEC to get listed after distribution. There will be more information on that later. Distribution is well over a month away.
