We live in a globalised technocracy where people have been reduced to nothing more than economic units. Voting legitimises an illegitimate system. Don't go out to vote in their little charade. Have some dignity. Don't contribute to the tryanny of modern governance systems.
Will refusing to vote during elections make things better?Refusing to vote will only make the system even worse, it will help promote an illegitimate system where those who are there to rule the people will be accountable to no one because they were placed there by no one. This is the only chance the people have to correct their wrongs, so it's better they exercise their civic duty of voting during elections.

I have always said it, the reason these political leaders maltreat their subjects and forget in a hurry all their campaign promises is because the masses gave them the room to act the way they do. What do you expect from a political leader who bribed his way into office and who did he bribe? Still the same masses who complain every day about bad leadership. Until the masses learn to do the right thing, the same people whom they voted into office won't stop neglecting them.

Not voting is also harmful because you let the wrong candidate to win the election because the right candidate didn't get enough votes to win.

Many right wing people and organizations are rising at the present, so if you're an immigrant or minority race in the country where you live now, you're in danger. Racism and discrimination will rise, your live would be tougher than now.

So you need to vote even though you only contribute less than 0.001%

Why would you not use your very own weapon against the government that you're not in favor of when they don't things favorable to you? I know that it's different per country on how legislations are being made and how election does. But that very entitlement and authority you have must be used for its full potential. Don't waste your vote instead of not voting, choose wisely and vote for the leaders that you think has the same thoughts as you and has a genuine intention to help you and your countrymen to the best interest of all.

Use all the government free gifts. Just don't be the persons that use them. Rather, remain the man or woman that you are, but get the benefits through your persons.

Your advice though might have been given in a good fate but many people will perceive it in different ways. On the election day if you do not go out to vote, you have given the manipulators the automatic ticket to do whatever they like at ease. Even when you know that the system is rigged and your vote might not count, but you voting will also make it more difficult for them to manipulate it easily. There is no other democratic way that is proven to bring in the people's choice apart from voting, and it is not nice to abandon it because the system is faulty. The best thing is to practice and keep devicing means to improve the system believing that one day it will happen. Don't go out to vote and the same people will recycle themselves in the system and make laws that will even make your home uncomfortable for you. Do not give up, give your all and work with like minds to make a difference.

You're against system where people is nothing more than economic units. That's ok. But also you shouldn't go to work, pay taxes, follow laws and etc. Because by doing that you legitimise that flawed system where people is just economic units.
Whether you're voting in elections or not, it doesn't changes anything in general.
Yea, OP forgot that be it as it may, he is a part of the ecosystem. No one can honestly work in isolation. So, bring ideas to make good laws in the society and not to chicken away.

It is good to go out and vote because it is through voting that bad leaders can be elected out of power. If you don't go out to vote, you have given the corrupt leaders the advantage to out whoever they like in power because they will do the voting themselves.

However, there are some countries that voting is useless especially in a those third world countries that are very corrupt. The electorate body already knows who they will put in power but they will use election as a disguise to make sure that they follow the right process of putting the wrong person in power. Voting is useless in such countries because it is a waste of time and abuse of democracy.

For the average person voting for the main two parties doesn’t do much I guess. My life isn’t much different regardless of whoever is in power out of the Democrats or the Republicans. Whatever one promises & gives with one hand they just take with the other. I actually don’t vote but it’s for the reason I explained not because I think voting is harmful & random conspiracy theories.

People have died for their right to vote. Voting is our right and privilege to choose the people who we want to lead us. If you don't want to vote, it's your own choice, but if you believe in the future of your country and your vote will make a difference, then go out and vote.

I don't know what kind of government you are promoting, but democracy is still the best form of government because the power comes from the people, by the people, and for the people.
If you have different ways of choosing a leader then why did you not include it.
people who died for the right to vote were incredibly stupid. humans in our earliest forms have been around for 6 millions years. we only started voting 2500 years ago in ancient greece. it is a dumb cruel experiment and that is becoming more and more obvious everyday. I don't promote a government. The idea of a government for man is undignified to say the least. Why should man be governed? Can man not govern himself? Had we not being doing that for millions of years until these empires imposed these shams on us?

This thread reminds me of the situation in my country where voting is a waste of time. The electoral commission is already compromised because these politicians control them. At the end of the voting, the electoral umpire will just announce results that suit the political class. But this shouldn't stop us from voting because it is our fundamental human right. We shouldn't be discouraged by these illegalities because these corrupt practices will end someday. But in advanced democracies like the UK, US, and other European nations the electoral system is working to a large extent. They might not be perfect but they can be said to be fair because the will of the people manifests through the voting process. So we should keep voting no matter the situation.

By not voting, you are in fact supporting the very system that you dislike, ensuring that voices that could challenge it are not heard. Clearly, the best way to challenge a system is to distance yourself from it completely and hope for the best outcome sarcasm

I totally understand the angle you're coming from and having lived in a region where regardless of what you do as an electorate to ensure that you vote the right person into a position of authority, you see the election result being manipulated and a candidate that has zero ability to win an election if it was conducted free and fair eventually emerging the winner at the pole.

It's the sad fate most of us who are patriotic enough to go out to vote for our preferred candidate have had to face during every election period. Sometimes you go out to vote and thugs are being organized to beat you up. in some instances, you're forced to vote for a candidate that's not your chosen aspirant and you're left with only two options which are to vote for who they want you to or to go back home with your voter's card. These and many more hostile experiences are part of the reason some of us have decided to remain apolitical but when you look at the effect of leaving power in the hands of some selfish selected few who care only about their gains, you can't help but have a shift of thought into going back and getting involved in the whole election process but this time around not just an active electorate but someone that's of a political party and that's ready to get involved and contribute a little quarter in ensuring that the right person leads your locality.

Regardless of the past hurt you've faced because of the thought that your vote doesn't count, it's even going to be worse if you show total negligence on who becomes your leader after an election. Regardless of your skillset and finances, you need the right leader who can make quality decisions that can affect a nation positively, or else when the wrong one emerges as your leader, you might experience war and huge chaos faster than you've ever imagined.

In any civilized society their is need to have elections and the people will use their votes to choose leaders of their choices. Without giving people the opportunity to make decisions including choosing the people that will lead them, there can be all sorts of lawlessness and disagreements in the society or country. I don't think that voting reduces the dignities of anybody, instead it is a democratic way to have the will of the majority to decide their leaders.

Although there are places where elections are rigged and the votes of the majority are suppressed, these are places where democratic electoral processes are not followed. But scenerios like this does not mean that voting is wrong, it is where undemocratic systems operates that have issues like that.

Here's why you are wrong.

BunnyWunny is a person. It's not a man or a woman.  The difference:

I, a person, BunnyWunny, blah, blah, blah.

i, [wo]man, bunnyWunny, blah, blah, blah.

You the [wo]man are not your person. Stand as a [wo]man, not as your person. But use your person for the benefits you get from it.

https://redress4dummies.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/office-of-person1.pdf

You have as a [wo]man many persons. Each doc you have is a separate person. Your voting person votes; you don't. If they want to harm you, stand as a [wo]man against therm as a [wo]man. Don't stand as a person/one of your persons/certainly not one of their persons that they are trying to sell you on being you.

by chance are you an anarchist or you don't believe in the rule of the man upon other men?
It depends whom you ask, whether they also agree we live in a technocracy or not, I would not call it a technocracy, it is something different, because it is not only about big technological corporations being predatory on polítics and the natural resources of other nations. It is more complex than that.

Voting is not supposed to be a demonstration of submitting to the system, instead, it is supposed to be a way to change the system in a pacific and civic way, but that only happens when there is a true democracy, otherwise voting is indeed used to perpetuate a tyrant.
It would not be the first time a tyrant tried to rig an election in a banana republic.

Perhaps you have that vision on democracy because your country seems to be democratic, but actually is not.

Whether you go out to vote or not to vote, it won’t change anything and that is the thinking and believe of an ignorant citizen. The democracy is designed to voice out for those that are oppressed and not having a feeling of the good governance, so you can’t tell me that going out to vote for your most preferred candidates is an illegitimate act. Only one vote can change something and can change a whole narrative that is been pedaled on for years.

Voting is not a choice and if you’re in a democratically system of government, nothing should stop you from voting even if you feel you’re been cheated on and you’re voted aren’t given to the right person that is most deserving to rule over you. When you try and never gave up, a time will come when the voice of the voiceless will prevail over all. As a patriotic citizen, exercise your patience and cast that vote because that’s what make you to be part of the system you’re been governed under.
