This discussion is mostly about sporting events, for instance, football.
Do you consider gamblers who bet on fewer games that they can watch to be gambling more for fun than to make money?
My answer
It is a yes for me, because fun is not just in betting on these games, but following up with these games by watching them contributes to the fun you intend to have. If you bet on so many games across many leagues that have kick-off times clashing, then you are obviously betting with more intention to make money than have fun because there is no way you are going to watch all these games at the same time.
What do you think? Is it possible for a gambler with a long bet slip to be gambling for fun?
Concerning football matches, I think yes, you are right. I and my friends commonly watch them in the pubs over a glass of beer, We are betting on them for a small amount of money just to have fun for every goal which adds chance to win the bet, Funny, but we have an agreement that the winner pays the drinks we are consuming and as I have already said in some of my post my friends have never thought that it is such a big deal to pay for others in the case they win.
A gambler with a long bet slip can't possibly be betting for fun only. On a casual day, when you are watching the game you bet on, it is going to be fun if you didn't bet much, like you bet one dollar or two dollars on it. And you are genuinely playing it just for fun after a long stressful work day. But if you intentionally placed a bet on a game, especially when you have the mindset of winning, it's not going to be much of a fun watching the team you bet on lose.
You are going to be getting a little bit of panic, you are going to be getting a little bit of dissatisfaction when the games you bet on lose. Also if you are betting to win, that means you won't be betting on just one game, you'll probably be betting on more than one game, because you are definitely betting for profit.
But if you are betting with friends, to go watch the match with friends and just relax, then it's supposed to be fun watching the game. But even when betting with friends and you start getting negative feelings when your team is losing, maybe you are not the fun bet-ter. You should probably just stick to betting for profit. In summary, enjoying a game you bet on depends on you.
