This is has result of December to January hard pump, this are healthy correction to keep crypto alive, it would shake out weak hands and shirty project.

I think the current dip is caused by two factors:
1. Binance API fail
2. MtGOX guy selling coins for 400M.
But the marker seems stable around 9K and alts seems to get a slight recover.
Make market go down?
I think it seems to be all altcoins rely on bitcoin price, altcoins will also affected in Bitcoin fall. Even whales are also contribute on ots fall if they sell it to fiat. Besides, bad news and the market also reacts to them through the demand on the market.
Mostly when the price of bitcoin goes down, the entirety of the market prices go down with it so the prices of altcoin go down when the price of bitcoin goes down. Until coins can detach from under the shadow of bitcoin, anytime that the price of bitcoin goes down then the prices of altcoins will always go down with it. Also when a lot of people are dumping an altcoin, the prices go down.
We all see a clear dependence of the altcoins price on the bitcoin price, but I think that in the future everything can change. It is possible that in the future some altcoins will not depend on the price of bitcoin, the coins will become more independent. I hope that this happens soon. Roll Eyes

Well, i feel FUD contribute to the fall in the prices of altcoins. There are times that holders of some altcoins sell in panic after being fed with fake news and they begin to sell low, which results into the fall in prices.
Also, it has been a trend, to see the value of coins in general dump during the middle of the year.,

talk about altcoin, where altcoin is an alternative coin of bitcoin, so it's definitely the price will be lower than bitcoin. usually if the bitcoin price down, the altcoin price will also be getting down. but besides altcoin also has many benefits. the right time to buy altcoin is when the altcoin price is down. and we can sell it when the price is going up.
Supply and demand and future expectations determins the price of altcoins. If the devteam works hard and have good progress to show the community the price rises.
None has got the clear information for the recent price drops of majority of the altcoins. From my understanding as bitcoin went dropping, the value of altcoins too fell as it is dependent upon bitcoin. Now bitcoin has returned back on the track, and the same has made almost every altcoin progress.

When we talk about the price of altcoin ethier high or low it's all about the supply and demand with that altcoin can affect the price itself. If a lot of people who are buying that altcoin the demand will goes high and that's the time the price of that altcoin goes high too. But if many people are selling their altcoin the supply of that altcoin goes high so that the price itself will goes low.

the most likely reason is due to the large number of competition going on. Types of altcoin the longer more and more. Then the number of the community became dispersed evenly. and this makes many coins finally experienced a price drop. The second reason is probably because a lot of going panic sell. that result because it was afraid that the coins will be priced low due to burn.
It seems to me that the market is run by the same maybe few thousand people maybe even one hundred people and they just keep manipulating the price of everything. nobody is going to make money unless you swing trade like they clearly do. That seems to be the beginning of this year anyway. It's already Q2 and tons of good news came out but nothing is happening

I believe prices have down because the opportunity to have more bitcoins and increase the number of miners of bitcoin
I do not really know about the current altcoin price decline because I know the price of altcoin falls because bitcoin also decreases because altcoin follows the bitcoin movement so from that with the price of altcoin the current price you can get altcoin that much and buy it for the future
In my opinion, the main reason is the negative news background and the absence of very large and significant events for the world of crypto currencies. Once such events occur, this will give a new impetus to the development of the entire crypto currency market.
Many of the ICOs have been selling their ethereum heavily in the past months, so people have the feeling that market is bad, but it is more the opposite, everyone is deploying the projects.
Altcoins will remain cheaper than the coin- Bitcoin. Obviously, there is a reason why they are called “alt”coins. After all, it`s great that they are cheap, it means you can buy cheap and sell when they will rise in price, but be careful with choosing the altcoin.
Bad news, fall of Bitcoin or Ethereum, loss of interest among investors - that's what makes the market fall down. For now I prefer going into alts since the price is relatively low and stuff) So I think that going into promising projects with promising future is the best option
That causes the altcoin price drop in my opinion because many new coins and tokens appear to be also because sales are higher than purchases so many people who sell can cause altcoin drops.

Of course the price will not go up continuously. And when such a correction becomes a pattern, people will believe if the end of the year will rise, and they start buying. So that's the cycle.
