So yeah, until I get my Frozen Gems max win, I'll still be playing this game. Grin
This is just the truth to be one of the main reasons most people are gambling. I have seen people that says they might have a lucky day. Success stories of people that won huge amount of money did encouraged them. This type of people will risk small amount of money and expecting to win huge amount of money, but they lose quite often than win. Although, they use the amount of money that they can afford to lose for it.

It's very hard to say that someone doesn't have a direction of gambling, like a focus to why they are gambling. Naturally we knows that we gambling to catch fun or gambling to earn more money anything other than this is not in gamble.
Those are the two main purpose why we gambling, gambling to earn more money and gambling for fun whomever that is not gambling for fun is either gambling to earn money, and no one will be pleased to keep losing money while they gambles and when they keep gambling and incurred series of lost they won't be pleased to keep gambling but when winning is there then it boost them to continuously keep gambling.

Of course, the desired goal in gambling is how to collect a lot of money with small capital, even though sometimes this desire is not achieved, the opposite happens, without us realizing it, due to gambling too often, we lose all our money. that's what I experienced. Therefore, learning from this bitter experience I have now stopped getting involved in gambling.

Are you like me? Gambling with no sense of goal, direction?
I am not sure if this is some kind of goal, but one of the main reasons I gamble is to have "me time", gambling for me can be entertaining especially if I am playing the gambling game that I want and enjoy. that being said, I still do want to win or at least have profit after my gambling sessions but it is not the main reason why I gamble.

Since OP gave slots as an example, let me tell you what I want from playing slots. For the last 3-4 years, I have played this game called "Frozen Gems," which has a 10,000x max win. Despite countless spins, I have never won more than 700x (IIRC, definitely not 1,000x). Every time I play, I have the mentality of "this time must be the max win since I've played this game for years!" And here I am, still hoping and coping with this situation, lol.

So yeah, until I get my Frozen Gems max win, I'll still be playing this game. Grin

1. What exactly do you want from gambling? Say it, even if it's something you don't think is possible to achieve.
Well, I envy those who became rich for winning in lottery. But then, I realized that it is not for everyone and having such mindset when you gamble is not a good idea. It can lead to addiction if you keep trying to achieve such goal. So even even if I want to, that's quite impossible.

2. What steps have you take to see if you can achieve that which you want from gambling?
I already set aside that eagerness and opted to play to have some fun using a small amount. Gambling is not the way to become rich. If you have such goal then strive and find a resources to make it happen.

There are two things I won't like to misused in gambling the fun and the money even if the money is not guarantee as loss percentage is always higher I don't like to loss I always seek means of gaining, without fun it's more boring for me to play any game so this two aspects I want them to go hand in hand why the fun is there money two should flow together because it's more interesting to get something out of something.  To actually put away money on gambling it not enough as the fun can't sustain the speculation power of what to get financially even when it's not coming as expected is more of interest to me.

And honestly, I am still confused, because I've thought of money being what I wanted, then "what is my actual target?, what amount will be enough?" is the next question I asked myself, and I realized I didn't actually have any amount in mind,
So, I thought I should throw this question to the gambling community here, maybe I could draw some ideas from your ideas and contributions.

For gambling, our target is unrealistic because it is difficult to achieve and that is why we don't really know as we don't know when to win. If we know when to win then we are going to increase the staking power for jackpot and then reach a target.

and this made me conclude that money wasnt really what I wanted, but it's not fun either, cus I cant have fun if I am not winning, like I would always say, " there is no fun in losing money".

Hahaha, not money not fun then what else  Grin. To lose is not fun but to win is fun like you already agree with me.

1. What exactly do you want from gambling? Say it, even if it's something you don't think is possible to achieve.

To increase the chance of doubling the money you are betting with not really to have enough of money to take care of yourself because that maybe unrealistic.

2. What steps have you take to see if you can achieve that which you want from gambling?

Reduced numbers of games to bet on, that is in football betting. To bet few games is better than multiple games because it increases winning chances.

Or

Are you like me? Gambling with no sense of goal, direction?

Let's have a healthy discussion.

The direction and reason for it is there and the goal is to profit but most gamblers can't just achieve that sense of gambling.  Grin

Even though the reason is to get pleasure, gamblers still hope to make a profit, even though it's not many times the deposit amount, but at least our casino balance is greater than the deposit amount after being satisfied playing for a while.
But I'm not that concerned about getting big profits or making money from gambling because I know that I also have to spend a large amount and play quite a lot of time to be able to make big profits.
So I will only play when there is money to spend and usually when I receive payment from the signature campaign I will leave a few percent to play and when I don't make any money at all (and this is what I always experience) it doesn't matter to me and I can still accept that.

I'm not going to lie to everyone, I want to get the max win when I gamble, there's no other big and unconscious goal behind all of this, it's just that I want to make big money out of the small money that I've placed my bet into, no other way around it and if you're saying that you really want to gamble just for the entertainment then you're probably just lying to yourself and to everyone. I mean if you really are true to yourself, would you be able to give out your big wins if you're just playing for fun?

Of course, you are correct and I totally agree with you, that is just the fact, same with me and everyone ( I think so).

And even if we consider it as an entertainment, we could want to win more, so we keep on gambling and actually our motives might be to go and try luck if we can win or not but in the process and we didn't win, we rather consider it as an entertainment then, so that we won't be feeling sad and the amount we loss won't also affect us  but no matter how we take gamble or however way we gamble, let's gamble responsibly to avoid falling a victim.

I search for adrenaline from gambling. But a light version of it. Not the same adrenaline when you do bungie jumping or risk your life. But that moment when you place your bet, and look at the ball spins/dealer takes cards/rocket flies/symbols rotate in slots. That moment when you wait, guess and calculate what the result could be. I think we get same emotions when we open presents as kids, we more or less understand what is in the gift box, but we are never sure.

I have a similar mood when, for any pastime, I have one question: “Why?” Why play, why money, why?... Sad
I think many people sometimes play out of boredom. But this suggests something is wrong with a person’s inner life. Something happens when desires cease to be relevant, and we don’t know what to do with ourselves. At these moments, you probably need active rest to distract yourself from a decadent mood, or, on the contrary, to load yourself with work that takes physical and mental strength.

Gambling with no sense of goal, direction sounds about right to me. When I gamble I usually have 2 motivations.
1) I have a little bit of free time to kill, but not enough to get into something really entertaining and I want a quick jolt of entertainment.
2) I am emotionally invested in a sporting event and want to have some skin in the game.

Your second option is a major one for me as I think one major reason I bet on a particular match or game is to have a strong support for that very team and since I’ve already invested money, I would have more time to watch and support the team I’m already betting my money on😁

On the other hand, I think every gambler wants money, why are we always shy to spit the truth that we all want money when we gamble🥺
Firstly I ask myself, are these casinos shy to take out money when we lose a bet? Hey no, so why will I be shy to say I’m gambling to make some extra money?

For me, whenever I bet on a game, there is always a consciousness for me to want to make extra money but that doesn’t mean I will chase my lose, if I win, it’s a win and if I lose it’s a lose and just as @yahoo62278 already said, just have a target when gambling and that’s all.

It's a question I asked myself this evening while playing a Slot game on a telegram casino.
I asked myself this question, and was puzzled for a while because I was actually confused of what exactly to answer myself, I wasn't sure if money was what I wanted from gambling, or whether I was just playing to have fun, or whether I was gambling for both money and fun.

And honestly, I am still confused, because I've thought of money being what I wanted, then "what is my actual target?, what amount will be enough?" is the next question I asked myself, and I realized I didn't actually have any amount in mind, and this made me conclude that money wasnt really what I wanted, but it's not fun either, cus I cant have fun if I am not winning, like I would always say, " there is no fun in losing money".

A basic goal IMO should be to have fun. I also don't recommend trying to win a million dollars in 1 day. If you go somewhere to play with $100 and you get to $200, call it a day and go home a winner. If you lose $100, call it a day and go home -100. Don't chase losses and don't lose an amount that you'll regret.

Initially when I started to gamble a bit, it was to get lucky and hopefully win big that'll change my fortune, but then I realized that gambling wasn't a get rich quick scheme. Now I just gamble for the thrill of it, take a little risk with the amount that I can afford to loose, and try not to worry much if I lose a bet, and if it happens that I win, I'll be more thrilled and that is it. I've learned not to take gambling too seriously a Wink ;)s a none professional gambler, I just engage in it as a pass time to have fun, not too serious about winnings because it doesn't happen often.

I haven't for a moment asked myself all of these questions, I prefer not asking as not to get the wrong answers thinking it's the right answer. Having a precise goal about what you actually want from gambling could make you gamble more than you should all because you want to achieve your target expectation. You'll just lose more than you gain because gambling is not a guaranteed means of income that a success from it is heavily determined by how much work and time we put into for us to set a target towards it.

I choose to just gamble within the realms of responsible gambling in all appearance but with no explicit expectations as to what I really want. Whatever comes my way I accept it as it comes. It's good to hope for the best as we gamble but in doing so we should also expect the worse too to stay in balance.

I like your question, which is very simple and at the same time it makes you think. And I know the answer: why am I in gambling?

I haven't been playing lately precisely because I only expect income from gambling and betting. I don't care about emotions, I need money. And I know that this is a very dangerous and wrong approach to gambling.
But I don't need emotions, I get them from various other sources, and right now I'm only concerned about money winnings. That's why I often bet on small matches of unfamiliar teams in football.

1. What exactly do you want from gambling? Say it, even if it's something you don't think is possible to achieve.
If someone answering this question is honest, it's always about the money. Winning more money despite that it's more chance of losing than winning.

The other reason will typically be said as having fun and for entertainment purposes.

2. What steps have you take to see if you can achieve that which you want from gambling?
Just repetitive actions from betting on the sports that I am familiar with. But I have forgotten about that goal, if I win some then that's nice and if I lose, I accept.

Are you like me? Gambling with no sense of goal, direction?
More likely, and you know what? I think it's best to have this kind of view. You're not obliged to force yourself to gamble more.

If you're don't have anything to achieve, you not having fun and you're don't want to lose, it means you shouldn't gamble at all!

Why doing something when you didn't get anything and has no sense of goal? it's like, why learn Bitcoin and try to understand it, when you will not invest in Bitcoin.

1. I gamble for fun, I'm not trying to achieve jackpot or huge multipliers, but gambling make me more interested with the sports that I like to watch.

2. When I pay more attention with the match and spend more time before making bet.
