imortality is impossible..
But in the future it will be possible to connect a neuro-network to a supercomputer. And thus have robotic lims acting as usual body parts. Then the brain can then be stored seperately in a closed enviroment with its own superior blood-curcuit.

This way, you could extend a "lifetime" more than 10x i think

uploading your mind into a digital version guarantees it. these people chasing the end of biological ageing are probably wasting their time. there are too many things to take into account.

i dont think it will be possible to upload your "mind" for at least 5000 years ahead from now.

Immortality is state of mind not of body

your state of mind won't be very immortal if your body is dead.

even if the mind and body could be preserved, i don't think most people would be psychologically equipped to have much fun with it. it goes against every piece of our evolution.

"The billions who live forever will be a testimony to my work,
and the billions that are murdered to provide that immortality
will be the continuance of that work. That will be my monument!"

What do you think about immortality? Will people find immortality in the future?
Is it possible to transfer a digital copy of the brain to a computer environment?
Physical immortality of man is not possible. I am herein sure at least. And his memory and remembrances I think that soon will learn to save through computer technologies.

I am open to the idea, and pretty much believe my soul, or my essence is already immortal. I however, would not want to be immortal, within one body only, and not limited to this one planet. Not because I would get bored, or overwhelmed, but because I have always wanted freely roam, outside of my body. I have imagined shape shifting since I was a very young child, and was taught it was not possible.

The way it can be done is using fuzzy logic.
You are connected to a computer, fully conscious.
The brain is copied into the computer.
One part of your brain is disabled and the computer takes over that task, then the next part is disabled and the computer takes over that and so on.
There is no way to tell when you go over from being human to a digital human if this is done gradualy so the digital human will be you.

Hmmm now im more interested when you put it like that ... What is it that makes human human ? Is it our logic and brain , or is it something else ? Because when you transfer your self in to computer you are no longer human , you are machine , computer if you like . And what if when you transfer your self to computer you are no longer capable to learn new things on emotional level . Computers dont have emotions , they are all numbers and stuff . And even if its posible to make emotions they will be only numbers and code , nothing more ...
I think immortality is not true because up to now, no one has come out claiming that they are immortal.

Why anyone would want to live forever on this god-forsaken rock is beyond me.

If I could change my appearance and identity every 50 years while erasing the memory of the previous 50, then maybe. But I certainly wouldn't want to do it in America.

Most people wouldn't be cut out for it.. The type of person who could take it would be very adaptable, of strong character and able to take being alone frequently.. Most people however are very stuck in their ways and need people, they are unable to entertain themselves, and would eventually attempt to find ways to "end it"..
If you view reincarnation as a form of immortality than yes, also a soul is never killed immortality in the form of a corporeal existence however is debatable.. I myself have never run into such a person so I don't have the means to say either way..

I think that this is impossible and even unnecessary. A person is given a certain amount of time to manage to do as many different things as possible, and not to exist forever without any sense.
I agree with your point. I also think that immortality is impossible because if it is possible, up until today, there's no one who claims that he or she is immortal. I only think that the right word to use is "baby faced" or "young looking" for looking young despite or compared to their original age.

I think nothing would be worse than living forever, at the same time nothing would be more incredible than living to see the advancement in the future. It's a thin line between torture and oppertunity

I don't think it is possible, but than again, if you showed someone from 1940s an iphone, they would probaby think you're crazy.

i think thats impossible.. and we all know

It is not impossible, it is just defined differently. There are lots of examples and rumors about immortality but only some of them are known to us. I think it is possible with all the technology we have today but the government's will not disclose these things.

I don't think that people will ever manage to be immortal. However the average limit of life has been more bigger comparatively to the past due to the rise of medical and biotechnology.Even if all people would be immortal then the earth would die much faster.Personally I would not like to be immortal because life might be boring.

Immortality means Not having death.
our  scientists  have to find immortality. But will we be able to take advantage of it when immortality is found? Do they give everyone the opportunity to use this technology? NO.Everybody want to be Immortal then.
