Bitcoin is already legal currency in many developed currencies and those governments that are really sincere with their public and concerned with the prosperity of their public have already made bitcoin legal in their countries.

Only those government that do not want to lose their control over public are afraid of making bitcoin legal but soon the increase in community of bitcoin will premise government for the legalization of bitcoin.

To be honest, there is still few countries that made bitcoin as a legalized currency because most of the countries in our world are just doubting about the potential of bitcoin because they are scared because of the possibility that the illegal transactions will just grow even into a bigger amount of transaction because of the anonymity of bitcoin.

the market will be more attractive since every day we have seen many new coins is launch in every market and many people want to buy the coins. the government will need to learn about digital currency so they can know what the different and if they want to make regulations for digital currency, they will make some rules or one border line between online and offline world. of course the government will make approaching to digital currency user before they apply the regulations so there will be no panic from people.

I do see regulated framework coming in when it comes to the crypto trading, especially if it is involving the crypto/fiat trades. Governments will make it mandatory for the domestic exchanges to collect and share the KYC/transactions database of traders in order to determine the tax liability of the users. The legal framework is on the way but it will take about a year or 2 in most of the countries to at least get an exact idea of it. Crypto market will not go anywhere but it will transform in a structured manner.

Well by this market you must mean bitcoin, I think that realistically it will always struggle to be accepted as a currency but in time will become a more and more common accepted means of payment. To be accepted as a currency it will need a lot of criteria to be met which are not currently.

Bitcoin can work without government recognition as we have seen since the beginning of the life of bitcoin, however I do not think we should expect that governments recognize bitcoin as a currency, they are going to recognize it as an asset but getting governments to acknowledge bitcoin as a currency is going to be a tougher battle since they want to avoid to do that at all costs.
