Some people see it as a chance. So it actually depends on our perspective. Some people love the high volatility; therefore, they love this kind of altcoin situation. If you don't like it, probably investing in altcoins is not for you. For me, because I don't do short-term trading (it makes my head ache) and I love the more stable and secure ones, then I tend to invest in Bitcoin or find long-term altcoins to invest in.
Altcoins have no guarantees. Investing in altcoins without hesitation would be foolish. There is no hope for altcoins. I would say to wait patiently for the bull run. Hopefully the price of BTC will go up again. But maybe it will take time. I will not agree to invest in altcoin. You can invest but check a little.

If you have bought bitcoin at the price of 30k$ and still you have hold it then now you will be in great profit and I will suggest that hold it until Bull market appears because your profit will increase more than current worth. People often don't have enough self-control to keep holding their assets when the market is going down, and this is specifically for new investors because they lack knowledge and experience about the market and as soon as they see their portfolio losing value, they think they are losing their money because they don't know that the market, especially Bitcoin, recovers even if it drops significantly, it might take some time but it does recover its price eventually.

Well, I bought some fractions of Bitcoin at the price of $30K, ETH at $2,100 but unfortunately they have been going downward since then. The bearish trend in the whole market is still prevailing, which greatly impacts on coin prices. Despite the bear market, Bitcoin is still holding on its ground with its price not fluctuating over the top. However, the altcoins are becoming more volatile than before and I begin to doubt whether investing in altcoins is a wise choice. Did you invest in altcoins ? First of all you would know be in significant profit if you had hodled from the price that you bought in at. Bitcoin is the apex predator of finance, an absolute beast. Over time it increases in price, it is what it is. Most people don’t have the balls to hodl when it is down but those that do are rewarded. Secondly the altcoin market usually follows Bitcoin but with a lag. Overall just buy & have conviction, it might he tough at times but time in the market usually means nice profit (if the coin is legit & not a rugpull).
for altcoins themselves, I prefer to own ethereum, there are indeed a lot of competitors from ethereum, but not all of its competitors can outperform or even equal ethereum. until now it is still the number 2 crypto and very worth having in the long run.
I myself only have bitcoin and ethereum in my portfolio. but future plans will break down again to other altcoins that have good potential.

Many of the altcoins we have in the market are still loading and waiting for the bull run to commence before the big move will start.We just need to hold we strong altcoins that we are more convinced they would give us good profits as investor when the bull finally comes. There are different ways we can determine what coin what it and the coin that do not worth it. We just have to be prepared and do diligent research before we out our money on any altcoins of our choice.
In my opinion, atlcoin could be the best alternative for investment, both long and short term, because apart from many of the prices being still affordable, altcoin also has a big chance of rising 5x or even 10x during the bull run, of course altcoin will provide bigger profits compared to BTC, even though investing in BTC is something very promising,

Personally I believe altcoins are a better alternative. They are capable of bringing your larger profits if you made the right choices and decisions.
Altcoins have and could have multiple of uses and can be widely adopted around the world. They are faster and cheaper to transact.
Tried transacting bitcoin this morning and the suggested fees were $14 from my wallet. And diversification is a must when you invest. You can keep a large bitcoin stash but never grow it over 50% of your fiat equivalent.

investing in altcoins is indeed wise but in bitcoin it is wiser because in my opinion altcoins are better at building our personal wealth by getting 10x more profits than altcoins, it could be different from bitcoin bitcoin is more suitable for maintaining our wealth even though the increase is not significant every day but bitcoin at least maintain the value of our money, even when I see bitcoin, I don't see the price anymore, one bitcoin, yes, one bitcoin, because there are only 21 million bitcoins in the world, you can't add any more or less, that's why I'm crazy about bitcoin, I'm sure bitcoin is the future of currency

Like your analogy, gambling includes planned risks and turns that you didnt see coming. Diversification is important. Spread out your capital. Its not just Bitcoin or altcoins; its about having a diverse portfolio that can handle changes in the market.
Bitcoin, which was the first, is safer. The measure by which other people are judged. Altcoins might be risky, but they can make you more money. Bitcoin's path is easier to predict because it is stable and has a big share of the market.

Altcoins might make you money yes. But it needs to study in other to know when to invest on. Because if you are not farmilar with it you might end up loosing money.
