I was thinking about this, what if the US Dollar crashes like speculated by many renowned economists around the world?
What will be it's affects on the beloved currency, BTC?

Us dollar will never crash. This is for sure. The Federal Reserve and the Government of United States will not allow this never. But it will crash the first thing that it will happen it will be a world financial and economic crisis. I thinks will influence bitcoin in  positive way. Most people will buy bitcoin to save their money and the price of bitcoin will increased.

But I repeat: Us dollar never will crash. There are to many people (important or not) that has predicted this event to many times during the times and nothing has happen. Even, the last months the us dollar has gain about 25% of its value.

And All currency will go up , and in developing countries, material needs will be more affordable as possible  Smiley

I dont see any other option?

So why not right? Unless some other foreign powers fiat being accepted then we`ll see more that money floating around until we end up using btc.

Everybody will be immediately much better off.

yeah, but not really.

more the 1 mill people are invested with holding the usd i dont think anyone wants to see it drop to zero. imagine not being to buy something you need the next day lol.

Think it through.  If USD drops to zero, all debts evaluated in USD are effectively forgiven.  All debtors therefore wish the price to drop to zero.

Also all people who are in favor of rational behavior towards the environment and living things wish the valuation of dollar to drop to zero, but that is a longer story.

Things we need are always available for trade.  That's what you mean by "buy".. it means to trade one good for another.  People aren't accepting Lehman brothers banknotes anymore either but somehow we are getting by eh?     I stand by my original statement, even though some people might not think so at first - eventually - they will be better off.

U.S. bond prices will fall, which is another way of saying that U.S. interest rates will rise. Mortgage and credit card rates will soar, sending the U.S. economy back into recession.  foreign investors and central banks will stop using and demand will fall for dollars. Crypto currencies may rise.

And lending will drop back to 1% like how it did in 2008.

Every bank as long there is a the dollar we will always see this in different forms, or see it again very similar to being back to a recession.

Everybody will be immediately much better off.
At least us who had the foresight to buy some Bitcoin!  Smiley

It would be utter chaos at first, but in the long run it would probably not be all bad for our country and world.

Bitcoin and precious metals would suddenly skyrocket in value, so many of us here would be instant kings!

European and Asian leaders will respond with the only weapon they have left: monetary inflation. They’ll cut interest rates and buy dollars with their currencies, flooding the world with euros and yen the way the U.S. now floods the world with dollars. The result of these “competitive devaluations” will be a death spiral for all major fiat currencies, in which European and Japanese bonds will, eventually, fare as badly as their U.S. cousins.

Perfect answer. ALTHOUGH, the big question that is generally not being discussed is: The day after the crash (and thereafter), what will be the currency that is used to buy few munchies, purchase some alcohol and chips , a tank of petrol, a meal at a restaurant? Obviously, the effect will be immediate and will be on a national level in each impacted country, affecting everyone.

if the us dollar crashes, thats like saying the main world reserve cash form is done.

which means everyone else like other countries will belly up as well. so its more of what we saw back in 2008, but it wont crash anytime soon since foreign help is always done with various world reserve other governments helping us.
US dollar is an economic standard which is globally excepted. As it get craches foreign investors and central banks stop demanding dollars,U.S. interest rates will rise. US dollar will going to effect economic standard across the world.

it does not makes sense for the strongest fiat to crash, before the other, so this mean that if it crash,. all the others are crashed too, which is equal to bitcoin being the king, fundamentally

what i'm expecting in the case of a general fiat collapse, is not only bitcoin will be recognized and adopted more, but many other crypto coins, will follow

How would be Indian Currency will get more value, when most of the Indian IT Sectors depends on the United States outsourcing. If US Dollars fails, it will have massive bad impact on the whole world which will leads to the worst ever global crisis gain.

The Dollar is way too expensive. Gonna kill what's left of American manufacturing.

Bullish for "Made in Germany".

Once Fed/IMF ditches the reserve currency thing, the US is allowed to go full on Japanesie. But for now I don't see the dollar dropping much as long as we have strong deflationary pressures.

No way, dollars is very stable right now. If it does, the whole world's economy will crash in some sort.

Yes it is stable for now, but later who will know? It will crash if there are some other currency that can replace it, may be bitcoin will be nominated  Grin

Yes. 90% of the world's trade is being conducted in the USD. And also, most of the countries sell their debt to institutional investors in the form of treasury bonds, which are denominated in the US Dollar. If the US Dollar collapses, bond holders will lose some $58 trillion in government debt, as well as trillions of USD in debt which is owed by big corporations, such as Gazprom and Rosneft.

Indeed 90% or more may be, but dont you think others currencies are becoming stronger and stronger that will affect USD and this time bitcoin is going to make his movement. Do you think one day USD is going to be replaced by others(including bitcoin)?
