Just so you know,no altcoin is valuable because of its foundation technologies. The only thing that makes a coin more valuable it's the hype coin has created in the market which is again nothing  but money invested in the marketing. You can use all the great technologies you want to make the coin a success but without money for marketing, the ICO will fail terribly.
The items behind the coins are their real value. It takes a long time to wait. Most of the projects are in trouble a few months later.

I think altcoins serve an important role. Decentralization is one of Bitcoin’s most prominent goals, and altcoins further decentralize the crypto currency community. Moreover, altcoins allow developers to experiment with unique features. That makes altcoin valuable

It is more than the technology or usability, its speculation or we can say community awareness which determines price. I have seen many ICOs not even launched their product or service but still coin price went 10x the ICO price just on the basis of investors' speculation. For instance, check POWR.

People's investments and their believing make altcoins more valuable I suppose. What is more, it depends on the type of cryptocurrency and its trends of development.

I'm developing an altcoin that is based on social sharing. What foundational technologies are going to make it the most valuable? What makes an altcoin valuable? I'm wondering if it is just how much people hear about it? Thoughts?

You develop altcoin base on social sharing, it must be widely advertised to all people, for people to know and use when that you will grow to be scale with altcoin of you

Social sharing has proved to be undervalued - all projects I've seen that dealt with this idea are not as popular as we wished them to be.
Currently the most prospective direction is enhancing the resources of blockchain (increasing the speed of transactions, reducing the fees, arranging the metadata), so draw your own conclusions.

Simple social sharing coins do not reflect better value, which will not get investors' attention. The value of coins often represents the strength of the development of projects behind them.

Enhancing resources of blockchain, honestly is not that effective if you want to grab as much people as you can to use your coin, instead, it's "what is the function of this coin" thing that makes it certain about the value.
for example, storj coin which used to pay the fee for storing files and so on.

Well it all depends on how it is being utilized, if a coin becomes so relevant such that investors could rely on it and make use of it, then it gains more stand and increase in value.... The use of the coin by good no of people speaks a lot on which value it will eventually have... Though most people still prefer bitcoin, it has really stood the test of time

The market today is really crowded with altcoins which some of them will not be needed or will not last long. Many people still prefer bitcoin because it is the most supported cryptocurrency in most of the countries in the world. I think altcoins are instruments which balance the market which people gives many options for investments, imagine the market if Bitcoin and Etherium are the only coins do you think people will earn in a stable market I think no.

I think the market needs to be the biggest value of the altcoin. Even if it's technically powerful, if no one is optimistic or invests in it, I think it's still useless.

One of the things that makes a valuable altcoin is its high demand from the community against the altcoin. If the industry of an altcoin is active and creative in delivering new innovations and is also active in developing in various fields, the altcoin will quickly arrive at its targeted objectives. In addition, enthusiasm from the community will also continue to increase, because an active team will open greater opportunities in realizing a coin to be valuable.

I think the value comes from the consensus of the community. Its products, community activity, and advertising marketing all determine its value. The current exchange price is expected to have hype. In the long run, there will be many project deaths.

The altcoin is also more complicated. There are many projects among them. Not all altcoins are worthless. Some altcoins are very good, such as medical, basic blockchain. But in the future many altcoins will disappear. This is the rules of the game.

It is important that it is available. Strong projects to move the market. Good quality stock market. The team that stands behind the promise. Also, it is important to be fit to the road map.

Let me give you example, Apple shares decreased horribly the day Tim Cook announced 20% fall in Apple China's sale!

Same theorem works in crypto world too. Coin is wholly owned to open market and its price fluctuates hugely by buzz and FUDs!

So would it be smart to launch a cryptocurrency into the market as a sharable currency before establishing an ICO? If the proof of concept is already working, would the ICO be better? I mean if the community is already there?
a very high price can be a considerable advantage. because indeed for the price of the highest coin becomes a big enough profit in the future. so as to become a valuable coin. so also with Altcoin which has a high price will be very profitable by having Altcoin which has a high price.

Alt coins derive their value from the people. Most alt coin are limited in supply and once the project has a working product and keeps excelling, the demand for the coin on the market increases, thereby increasing its price and value.

with increased coin development ability, it is very good to produce coins as coins that are very capable to be relied on and become valuable coins in the future. because it is a precious coin is not easy. every coin that wants to be valuable is a coin with an ever-increasing and profitable development.

the innovation it has and the issue it unravels makes the genuine estimation of the coin. Best coins to have are the coins that can be embraced some time or another by everybody. I attempt to take a gander at the network and the group behind the coin. Dynamic people group is an or more sign for me.
