I think some improvements makes an altcoin valuable, when some technical changes or some other good news form example when the coin is added in new exchange and also good exchange then this good news will impact on the value and price.

I'm developing an altcoin that is based on social sharing. What foundational technologies are going to make it the most valuable? What makes an altcoin valuable? I'm wondering if it is just how much people hear about it? Thoughts?
The things that make altcoins value is the product that they developing, the product should be able to be realize and should be usefull and solve the problem as it planned. There is a lot altcoins out there that doesnt have a good product and they just a useless coins without real project and i believe altcoin like that will die as time goes by.
What gives altcoins value is the idea that you can make trades with them and make profit. Most people who understands the system would cling to that idea. And so these people who makes up the community would faithfully engage in trading activities which builds up value for a certain alt.
The potential that the alt can do is the one thing that make it valuable. If you think that a lot of people will use that token and the fact that the project is trying to make something big will make the coin worth more. You don't invest in something that has no future, you put your money on something that will change a lot of thing and bring you profit.
From my view, the Bitcoin technology has been surpassed by many ALTCOINS. That's why ALTCOIN getting more valuable than Bitcoin. The most expensive coin price is now BITCOIN. Because it was the first of Cryptocurrencies. But i do believe, someday BITCOIN price also will surpass by some ALTCOINS.

In my belief, people in the community gives value to tokens and coins. To make your altcoin successful and valuable you need to make other people know about. This means you need to advertise your coin.
In my opinion the community gives it value. As it is with every currency, if its not used and accepted by the people there is no value in it. Same goes for gold. After all that is also just a metal, if people decided to value iron more and do use that as a store of value that is commonly accepted, this maybe would be todays precious "gold".
It all depends on how would the people value the coin and their perception of it if it would be useful or not. The more demand the coin has, the more valuable it would become. A thing would be worth nothing if it is useless. A coin would be valuable if it has a use like BNB or binance coin. People buy it because when you use binance coin in the exchange as trading fee then you would get a discount so it is valuable. Other coins that has projects that are abandoned or not developed by the team has no value yet and for those abandoned will eventually be worthless if there is no demand. They are just use currently as pump and dump coins.
Altcoin is valuable because of its foundation technologies.The only thing that makes a coin more valuable it's the hype coin has created in the market which is again nothing but money invested in the marketing.You can use all the great technologies you want to make the coin a success but without money for marketing,the ICO will fail terribly.
The basis for crypto invests is tokens. And if in your project tokens are used unnecessarily then you will fairly be sent to seek investments elsewhere. If your tokens were conceived as a means of payment be sure to release them to the crypto exchange.
