I guess more than 20% was just a guess definite bitcoin users will increase from year to year because of the better performance of bitcoin and the price continues to rise it's signifies the bitcoin has a good future
That's too much of a guess, what is your basis on that? And do you consider the total population of bitcoin currently? If it for 3 years from now, that is already a massive increase which I would say it's close to impossible of happening. Remember that you guess is the basis of your prediction so always make it realistic to make a good judgement in investing bitcoin.

I went with 2-5% but that's being optimistic, realistically I think bitcoin ownership will stay under 2%. Even if bitcoin ownership increased by a magnitude of 10 it would still be less than 2%. We are still in the early days.
it is still too short to say that bitcoin will have a very large number of users. I knew the development and deployment of bitcoin kept walking
but 2020 is still too short time

Its indeed a short time but we cant still predict on how many percent would be the total % of population on engaging bitcoin in the year of 2020 but well we cant still know even the adoption arise in the future since its users would still remain anonymous.

It's a short time therefore our estimate should be conservative also, less than 2% would already be considered as a major improvement. If we can just keep this price increasing, we can certainly attract more investors to adopt which will help to create the demand of bitcoins.

I'm looking forward for a positive outcome after this ETF approval since people are optimistic it will be approved and I think this will help to grow the market substantially.

I personally hope that everyone is going to use the Bitcoin by that time but i don't think that it will happen.
I think that it will be between the 5 and 10 percent but everything can happen, so it could be more.

I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made.
This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this.

Tnx for your input  Cool

remember now in 2017 is still a small percentage of users bitcoin in the world in 3 years I think bitcoin users still have a small percentage and bitcoin will not achieve maximum results in 3 years, bitcoin still took a long time again and support from government to maximize the users bitcoin

it's impossible to reach those levels : 30-40 , 40-50 , 50-60 , 60-70 , 80-90 , 90-100 .
i think it's just will reach between 2-5 or 5-10 by 2020 .
but after 10 years ,the percentage will be 50-60 . i think that .

I agree that around 5% - 15% of global population will own bitcoin by 2020.  There are lots of country that don't have access to internet so that will be the first problem.  Second is the on going bad press about bitcoin which make merchants to have second thought on adopting bitcoin .  Added the illiteracy of people on using digital gadget.
It's anyway depends on people local mentalities, trust in any other currency, then there own fiat money. And some countries, not welcoming digital currencies politics, because of easiest and non-informative transactions (Names, birthday date etc...) which allows people to purchase : weapons, drugs, illegal stuff. And it should be around 2%-5% on my opinion
It still not unpredictable, there some researching to determining the specifical amount of the bitcoin users but it seems like it will be never happening. A lot of the problems such as the lack of knowledge by people around the world about bitcoin will make it just get a little increase everytime.

By 2020 I think there might be only 2-5% of the world's population that use bitcoin since many of the world's population especially poor ones cannot afford a phone or a pc with internet connection to use bitcoin on a daily basis. Unless there will be a way to use bitcoin offline without having to use internet, the probability of having 5% more than the world's population using bitcoin by 2020 is still a pipe dream.
Agree I think bro 5% is good because all people around the world is about 7-8 billion so if its 5%  it also big. Yes many poor countries cannot afford to buy cellphone or PC because they need to do first they needs everyday.they  need also internet connection and they need to pay it also.  I don't think bitcoin can use in offline it cannot easily works the bitcoin price cannot be determine because you buy offline and what if you want to sell it. I don't think it is happen. If many people know about bitcoin in 2020 I think bitcoin price will increase to the high level.

maybe I will be optimistic bitcoin users would probably only reach 2-5% of the total world population. if you want to see 90% of the world population using bitcoin. it will take the next decade
That number is too optimistic, when half of the human population have problems accessing water when one third don’t have electricity, I don’t think we are anywhere close to reach a number like that, if we reach one percent before this decade ends we should consider ourselves lucky.
Or should we say that number is too unrealistic, the progress that we see based on the current value of bitcoin now does not automatically reflect the real value of bitcoin as we know that price can be manipulated. Making that kind of speculation or projection in the future would help you to buy more and be profitable but you will not achieve the profit you are expecting.

Life is a game, you either play it or get played.
As more and more hype gets spread in the media, people will surely flood into figuring this learning curve out.

Just like with gold mining back West, it'd be much wonder to pick up on before more opportunities are discovered.

There is much developed that adds to proper valuation, although the length of gains seen now will be enough to prove its worth. Stay wary of false investment opportunity and the rise will bring technological joy.

I have voted 20-30% but it's just a wild guess . Don't have something to base on and most probably all answers are just a guess .
Even what will happen in the next month is hard to predict , What more if its 2020? And it will be harder if you got nothing decent to base on . The future is uncertain we don't know if something huge will happen that might boost bitcoins popularity, Well I hope it happens while I'm still alive .
i think that is such a large number of people i personally do not think that such a big number of people can accept bitcoin upto 2020. i do not think that the number will exceed than 10 % because in next 3 years we cannot expect such level.

It's possible to have half of the youth population of the world going into Bitcoin by 2020 and that's about 30% of the world population now and perhaps around the same percentage in 2020.

Maybe 5-10% by now. But in 2020 it will increase to 25%. Cause not all business are still not accepting bitcoins on that time.we need 50 to 100 years before people will accept bitcoin.

Who says that 5-10% or world's population is using bitcoins right now? That is a really huge number and i don't think we can even reach that till 2020, and if we could reach 5% in that year then it would be a great success for bitcoin in my opinion. Don't consider world a country.

Perfectly right. People in internet who knows about bitcoin will utilize and spread it around the world in some months if the 5 % people are using it. We could say in 2020 may it reach to 2 to 5 percent people.
bitcoin became famous around the world and increasingly popular on the internet. bitcoin very rapid development. probably every day bitcoin have extra adopter. so I'm sure in 2020 bitcoin users will reach at least 5%

All those are probably impossible to happen (at least not for 2020) :
Quote
40-50
 50-60
 60-70
 70-80
 80-90
 90-100

I personally don't think it's possible to decide now , we should at least see what's going to happen after the halving block reward and how successful OpenBazaar would be .
I am totally agree. During next three years many things may happen with bitcoin and with it's price and the next halving is coming and it will affect a lot on bitcoin. So I think it's too early to judge now what will happen with bitcoin and how many percent of people will use it.
Just use your logic. If everyone has the same thinking just like you and keep on saying " It's not right to judge now, wait till it's coming " then the world will be slow to develop itself.
There are many factors that could affect the acceptance of bitcoin and yeah, I think that the numbers above are just too much. Within 3 years, I don't even sure that bitcoin could own about 20% or more users, it's too short.
