We cannot say of how many percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020, because, all of us can be part of it, other will not know about it. We cannot say because the price of a bitcoin becomes high , and sometimes becomes slow. We all know that we should create some blogs, ads and promote bitcoin to make our bitcoin value up

Promoting bitcoin everywhere could really increase its user and possibly could also make the percentage of its user goes up significantly. Promoting it in blogs, or anywhere would really mean a great help. It doesn't matter if it could create you more money or not when promoting it, the thing is, it should be done. But I think without a big man, a very famous one that promotes bitcoin, it will take time before we go mainstream.

While my guitar gently weeps!!!
For me its 30-40%, because as you can see now some people are now aware by using this Bitcoin, they're having a knowledge about this business, and in the year 2020 it will be double because if were earning by this bitcoin were proud to say to other people then they will be curious about this and how it works and most especially how it will make money.

That's too high, very much opitmistic... Even if the number of bitcoin user increases by double by the year 2020, we will not reach a 30 - 40% of the people of the world to use bitcoin by 2020... We can't set aside the fact that not everyone that uses bitcoin stays with it, some are sometimes living... But it's good if we are plenty by 2020, that way we won't be seeing a big swing in price...  Smiley

Using my my country as a case study, I went for the 10-20% category simply because following the trend of what is happening currently the acceptance of bitcoin is growing, but not at a rate to surpass that range and since 2020 is 3 years from now, I dont see any maximum movement in that regards. The category of people involved in bitcoin currently is largely the youth who have the time and also see bitcoin as  a way to make extra bucks but only few percentage of the youths are bold enough to take the risk and to believe its not an illegal move that others might think...

2020 is still far and it is hard to predict what percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020. If the pace will continue as it is now, I think 2-5% of the population in the world will own bitcoin. But it can be more if there are major updates. And maybe if there are more people that shares and discuss about bitcoin well o doubt that many people will used and understand what bitcoin is all about.

That is a good estimate.
Probably, but still unpredictable. Many are stated that its impossible to happen that even can't reach to its higher percentage. Not everyone are lucky enough to earned bitcoins, not all are knowing and not all are using it.,For me the basic fact how long does it lasts and it  also depends on how you work on it and how you truely understand the system.

I am sure the year 2020 users bitcoin can reach 10% of the population of the Earth. Although currently many countries that prohibit bitcoin but the popularity of the bitcoin will not be stopped.
Lol you too much, you should know that the total population of the earth is so large and while users of bitcoin is still very small, impossible in the next four years we will reach 10% of total users. it is too big expectations

not only that but also bitcoin can not handle that many users. right now with the current number of bitcoin users (which is far smaller than 10% he is suggesting) blocks are full and people are stuck waiting for confirmation. and anything bigger than this is not possible and i don't see how in 4 years we can handle 10% population of the world.
we are even always struggling to maintain current bitcoin user due if then there is a price reduction/bitcoin price dropped , a lot of people will leaving . an obvious example happened around my place where bitcoin last year at $500 but then dropped 50% to $250 , my colleague who have invested a lot in bitcoin they just cursing and leaving. that's the real fact how hard to grow bitcoin user.

I said 2-5% and even that is a stretch imho. That's still what, 140-350million people? (Assuming 7billion people wordwide). That's way more than we have now (again, assuming. It's hard to tell how many bitcoins users there really are) so there would have to be a huge influx of people starting to use bitcoins.

If there are 300 Mn people owning bitcoin, each one on an average will have less than 0.1 bitcoin. You can imagine what that will do to the price. That will be a moon shot. I don't think that will happen as soon as 2020.

4 years to go, I think it possible to reach 2-5% people of the world but I agree it hard to measure how much the exactly number right now. If we assuming 140-350 Million and everyone at least have BTC0.05, the price should be more than $1000 at 2020 for sure. It's funny as we expected and speculated bitcoin prices would be reach that price ($1K) in mid 2017, hopefully.
I am hopeful that the price bitcoin is going to cross 1000USD at the very start of 2017. I am also helpful that this time bitcoin is going to cross its all time high price levels.

I think bitcoin still need to be introduced to more number of new people as still a large number of people do  not know about bitcoins that is the big reason bitcoin prices still struggling under $1000 levels itself.

The percentage is going to be low and stay low for a long time. Even if bitcoin becomes more mainstream, there are still many poor countries where people don't have access to computers or cell phones. Also many people will not trust bitcoin enough to put money into it.
first of all the percentage of bitcoin is not going to low but every day it is increasing more and more and those people who know about bitcoin will not take much time to trust on it because it is already used by a number of big companies so they will trust on it because of it and the poor countries will also one day adopt it when it flourish.

The good new is we don't need every single person in the world to accept bitcoin as long as that number reaches a big enough number, businesses will have no other option but to begin accept bitcoin.

I think that it will be slightly greater than 2% just because of the law of increasing returns, ;p if you have 100 people each tell one person thats 100 if those people tell one more person and etc.
But you must understand there are also limitations to that especially because bitcoin can be difficult to people to accept, for example I have been unable to get a single one of my friends to open a bitcoin wallet and to use bitcoin, and I have some who are avid gamers and could have benefited by the cheaper prices on games given in the forum,
Yeah i think that would also be a major factor. Having people educated about the benefits of bitcoin. Even here where i am, people are a bit pessimistic when i tell them about bitcoin basically because it's the first time they've heard about it. For sure by 2020, more people would have heard or known bitcoin but then there's also the factor of online accessibilty. A large percentage of people around the world still doesn't have or very limited internet access. So yeah for me 5% would already be a big amount for people who OWN bitcoin by 2020

Well, I know it's low but at still we know we are increasing, we cannot get the half of the population as bitcoin can be complicated for majority of people.
Agree that the percentage was increasing very low but we can see the progress of bitcoin because of our continuous using this currency and also day by day we know that there are more people continuous adopting bitcoin for their new money transaction.
he's saying that the the users of bitcoin is quite low thus not saying the growth percentage. there's no exact calculation about it tho and may be impossible to be calculated because everyone could make multiple wallets or addresses.but i guess after the latest price peak many people are getting interested. just see why the price always stay
