One of the world's leading Bitcoin-powered casinos
I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made.
This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this.

Tnx for your input  Cool

I Sumit my opinion in the poll that is 10-20% , no doubt that the population of the world can't be controlled but here truth is that it is not easy to teach them about the bitcoin  . But still the use and advantage of the bitcoin is going increasing day by day so more and more people are attracting toward the bitcoin , and most the countries government are looking for the legalisation of the bitcoin , so probably it may be possible that in 2020 about 10-20% people entered in The bitcoin .

I don't have any idea how many percentage of people on earth will own bitcoin by 2020 because i can't see how the graph of people who owns bitcoin now in the year of 2017. But i think it's on a 40% of people on will own bitcoin on the year of 2020.

40% is way too much in the year 2020. Currently Its around 1-3% approx., it might grow max of about 8-12% by 2020.
Its really tough to reach such a huge percentage so quickly, because people are backward about new technologies and they fear loss of money other than anything.
I agree with that, there will not massive adoption that will happen in a short period of time, if that will happen I would doubt if it is real. Since we could not basically check the total users, we might be seeing a manipulated market, slowly but constant is something that everyone wants to see.
5% is even a big projection and if we will hit that rate, I don't know what will the price of bitcoin,, I am sure we will be happy at that time.

By taking into consideration we have 7.5 billions people living on Earth, I vote for 2-5% maximum. Why?
Because people are generally resistant to change. No matter how easy a life can be by adopting new techniques like Bitcoin but still people are happy living life as it is. For example, take Digital money like Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking have been implemented all over world for more than 20 years but still only 20-25% transactions are carried through it. Thus, we should not expect more than 100-150 millions Bitcoiners by 2020.
You are absolutely right. Still, a lot of people are not addpted to Net Banking and credit card transaction because they are afraid to do transaction with this process. If any mistake happens where to go, they don't know. Now some countries are addicting to digital currency. To avoiding black money the govt only entertaining this digital currency in the there country. But just for 3 years, we can not expect more than 2 or 3%.
Most of the people afraid to use internet banking or any form of exchange of money from digital money. They don't even trust any source of currency install of digital money but I think this is just because if their lack of knowledge and lack of understanding with Internet. I think this presentage will rise in future when internet will be access by any ordinary or uneducated person.

so far it seems like much less than 1% use bitcoin.

I don't think even in 2020 we'll have reached even 1%.

but at some point growth will seem to explode

make sure you are invested in bitcoin before that happens, or else you'll not even be able to afford 1 mBTC

The percentage will be definitely very low. Cause large number of people don't know about bitcoin let alone owning. In case bitcoin is banned in different countries. So it will be 10-15% I think. It's the maximum rate.

In 2017, my guess is that it's in the region of 0.1% or a bit less based on transaction volume and other people's estimates.  I doubt it'll grow more than about fivefold in the next few years.

A wise cast can not be an anything but 0-2. According to me there is about 0,01% of the world population using Bitcoin, which is roughly about 700 000 people. I do not see this number surging over 2%, which would be an awesome number of users of 140 000 000. To see that much people using Bitcoin, we must at least wait until 2030 I guess, if not more.

I think it will be still below 30% ithink since many people dont want to risk some money in order to try using bitcoins or any thing that may help you earn online. And even if people do use and risk on bitcoin are we sure that bitcoin will still be running by 2020?

The numbers of people in world who uses Bitcoin grows rapidly..so i think there are chances in
40-50
50-60
60-70
70-80
80-90
90-100 percent.
The number of people who use Bitcoin will not increase much more.  Its actual adoption in the world, while you can't calculate it, is just a tiny fraction of one percent and it's not going to just jump through the roof, especially since Bitcoin isn't scalable and isn't the most convenient method for transactions.  It has a specific audience and purpose and those groups will continue to use it, possibly more often or more widely but that's about as far as I expect it to go.

Yeah we cannot expect that each and everyone will start using bitcoins in next 3 years as bitcoin has not reached everywhere yet and majority of people have not even heard about the bitcoins so it will take long time for bitcoin to reach to each and every person.

So we have right now 220 million transactions in the blockchain.

A number of 500k unique adresses used currently:
https://blockchain.info/charts/n-unique-addresses?timespan=180days
With an increase of only 25% last year.

And we of course now that many of those transactions are made by the same person, same of addresses used.
I've checked my old wallet and with the new one, adding a few on localbitcoins and other wallet I have used more than 100 alone.

I really doubt it could reach more than 200 million users by 2020.

I voted for 20 to 30% although it seems a lot of improvement on to the percentage people own at the moment. I believe by then it will be somehow well known and adopted among mid generation (at least) therefor safe to estimate the outcome by at least some where within the range of 1/4 although it varies from each country and how they are in terms of technology and stuff.
i voted for 50-60% in my own predict because day by day many people know  bitcoins and because of technology people that work on physical will be turn on someday in online and they will know how bitcoin works

voted for 10 - 20%, bitcoin popularity is increasing every other day I have seen many people are getting interest on online income (instead of working from physical companies) using bitcoin as a payment method, so if this continues in 3 years bitcoin will become more popular and widely accepted as a payment options.
