Yeah, at least 30% in my opinion. Remember that we took off from no users at all from the start to where we are here. If we can come this far then surely getting more users wouldn't be a problem.

When fiat dies, this is when people starts to seek an alternative.

That is possible but with low possibility as that is too optimistic which becomes unrealistic already considering that is is just 4 years from not, we are still in the early phase and we have a lot to improve to get the percentage.

i think less than 1% 4 years is too short for atleast 5-10% of worlds population to have or know about bitcoin
specially when bitcoin doesnt have that much publicity(advertisement on tv etc..).

I dont think only 1%.... Cause now the user percentage is more than 10 and cant we expect any new user daily. Even if one new user login to any website where bitcoin is accepted or simply written about bitcoin then the percentage will go higher and the price of BTC too for sure and if price is high then it will be major concern in the society peoples Cheesy

sorry for late reply, but the total users of bitcoin as of jan-1-2016 is 100m (http://www.coindesk.com/2016-bitcoin-challenge-100-million-users/) i may be wrong about less than 1% but 10% is still too high,4 years is too short for people to start accepting bitcoin specially if they don't even know that it exist.

Bitcoin- in bullish time

IMO 40-50 is one of the closest percentage that can happen on 2020 because this coming halving can make a big news by making the bitcoin price higher. If that happens it will catch more people's attention and start getting into bitcoin and year after year it will increase more volume of users and after 2020 will be another big year for bitcoin users because of the next halving which is one of the best year for bitcoin to get a great adoption around the world.

Yeah definitely occur in the future adoption of bitcoin. this time the user maybe grow slowly or be invisible to us but certainly I always find new friends in this forum and members of the local exchange is also growing. This proves that bitcoin users continues to grow

Slow but continuous growth implies that bitcoins is a strong economy, it cannot be easily manipulated and the price is the living evidence now. We should not take about the percentage of the people to use it because as of the moment we cannot determine it yet but one thing is sure, we will be big in the near future.

There will be change and that is certain, we are increasing in terms of users in a daily basis but comes 2020 the speculation that majority of the people will use bitcoins is too unrealistic, we just need to increase slowly but in a consistent manner.

I don't think so simply because the Bitcoin's price is increasing highly recently and we noticed more and more people interested about it and even started investing with this crypto currency

i feel like the number right now is probably around 2-4 percent and its only bound to go up. so for 2020 my guess would be around 10% if alot of merchants start adopting and accepting bitcoin then we might even see a number around 30-40%.

The word that better describe could be users,say own Bitcoin it would be more complicated answer, because even if somebody only have a portion of 1 BTC still fall within the category own BTC, just as some will have 1,2,3,4 and so on, instead say BTC users encompasses these and falls into a category more widespread.

Even 2% is a large number. I calculated 1% of total world population and it is somewhere at 70 Million which is still a huge number. Voted for the first but I think that 0.x% will own bitcoin, this will impact directly the bitcoin price. Until 2020 we hope that the block size will be increased and more promotion of bitcoin happens.

I think 20-30 percent would be enough for the percentage of people who will own bitcoin on 2020 because we can't be sure that the doubt of other people on bitcoin will not exist anymore. IMO there still doubt for people to use bitcoin up to the year of 2020 because it's not easy to understand exactly what is bitcoin it takes time for an average person to be able to understand all the basic things about bitcoin so that scenario can affect people for getting into bitcoin.
