I think not only Ethereum has dropped in price, but other Bitcoin and crypto are also falling in price. Yes, you are missing something. Market price action does not equate news, vice versa. People out of fear will sell anything even if its already undervalued. People will buy anything out of greed even if it is already very expensive.

The only constant you should worry about is growth and progress.

I am guessing the good news you were talking about was the Constantinople hardfork that was supposed to happen but was rescheduled, people were buying fast in other to get the forked coin but when they discovered that the fork was postponed, many started reselling the Ethereum they bought and this caused the dump.

Yeah, everyone are expecting the bitcoin price pumping of the year. When the price of bitcoin increases automatically ethereum pumps high. When the ethereum increases gradually majority of the altcoins will increase. Because, majority of the altcoins in the market have got developed over the ethereum smart contract platform.

That's the effect that I've been saying and it's for every altcoin that are following bitcoin's lead. Ethereum will get the favor when bitcoin pumps and that's why most of the alts went down, they all lean to bitcoin's lead. The idea was already formed that altcoins are markets that depends to bitcoin too, so if someone says that there's a crypto that has independent market think of the sudden fall of the market as a whole.
