I have also heard about the ethereum update news. But why do ethereum prices continue to decline? I don't think it only happens in ethereum. All altcoins also seem to be decreasing too. There may be several factors or other things that make the price of ethereum and other altcoins decrease.People do not notice that all other altcoin has the same reduction as ETH, even the largest projects currently on the market like EOS.

We are still in the bear market so you do not need to be surprised why ETH market price continues to drop. There were still greedy people out there still withdrawing their crypto after investing on it for a long time where its market price is still that cheap. This people were the early investors and they had huge crypto.holdings so which means they could make a huge fluctuations everytime they will make a withdraw on crypto.

Not just etherium but the whole cryptocurrency, it was started by bitcoin when its keep on falling and the whole market were get affected. It seems someone manipulate the market and i could only think the culprit of all these matter are those big whales.

There is what we call the correction phase which is normally followed by any perceived bull run. Remember, there were investors who bought more ETH when the price went down to $83. It becomes a huge percentage profit for some of those investors when ETH rose up to $154, so definitely some will decide to sell and this can cause the fall in price again.

You’re not missing anything instead you have just overlooked things in Ethereum movements,how can we expect altcoins to grow these days when the mother coin in form of bitcoin is continuously dropping its value?lets not forget that all coins only following bitcoin so whenever theres a dump all the alts will dump also,this is one sad face of cryptocurrency because all are dependable to bitcoin
I think the delayed of Hardfork of Ethereum blockchain caused its market to go down again. It started to go green after the news of Hardfork coming but as it got postponed so the price has started to fall again.
There will be a HARDFORK in the late February this will make ETHEREUM better.
Though we dont know what will happen in the market. CEO VUTERIN says that the ETH price will go high after the FORK.
But can we expect? it is not 100% sure as what we saw with the BCH FORK.

my opinion is that such sharp falls are associated with panic in the market, for frequent even experienced traders are subjected to great pressure, which makes them panic and sell, but in fact most likely, whales sell coins to themselves and fully control the situation in the market. I think the market still needs a very long time to recover. As seen at the beginning of 2019 that market prices show a very positive trend. But now the price has dropped again. Best You just look at the market in general they all seem to be on the downward spiral and things are not really going well for all of them but I think the only reason the focus is on ETH is the whole Update that causing the Hype I personally am looking toward this in February I will like to see what happens next
