Comparatively, there are some altcoins of which price is in the range of my investment capability. And I always prefer to invest here. And I do believe that with proper analysis it is easier to make profit from altcoins rather than investing in bitcoin (I am not discouraging to invest in bitcoin). So if altcoins price dumped, I will definitely do a lot of study to get the insights that would support me the way of investing in altcoins.
for example, I just invest in projects that I think will be successful in the future, and I know that my investment will not pay off immediately, I'll just wait.

Personally I don't think that long term investing in altcoins is a good idea until they became independent on Bitcoin through exchanges, which means that altcoins should have a trading pair with dollars or fiat currency. It is to know if which coins will survive and have truly potential in the future. I don't invest long term in alts especially with low volume coins, because it can easily pumped by whales but also can dumped it and your trade will get stuck because you don't want to lose your investment. So what a trader should be doing if they experienced it? it depends on the coin, holding is the best solution but if it gets dumped and it has no potential growth then you probably wasting your time holding it. Everyone has different thoughts about altcoin when prices are falling, some soon sell their altcoins to avoid more losses and some also think this is a good time to buy some altcoin when the price is cheap and make a profit in a few month when prices increase.
This is a very risky thing. Now most of the altcoins are cheap in your eyes, but in someone eyes they are worthless soil. I know that many people buy a lot of altcoins at low prices, almost all lost.
Everyone has different thoughts about altcoin when prices are falling, some soon sell their altcoins to avoid more losses and some also think this is a good time to buy some altcoin when the price is cheap and make a profit in a few month when prices increase.
If you are a risk taker and knows how to understand the purpose of certain coins then investing would not be that hard for you, knowing that time will come and your investment will grow, even you are seeing a lots of downtrend as long as you really taking your investment seriously, then you will find some good and quality coins that will bounce back each time bitcoin does.
Most of the time, I will study the open source code of this project by myself.

It is always predicted that altcoins market will only increase when the bitcoin price goes decrease because in that case people will be moving from bitcoin to altcoins but sometimes you can see both the bitcoin and altcoin price remains stable.
So i would definitely withdraw from altcoin and enter into bitcoin or atleast change investment to alteenate coin

Just let it go. We can do anything. If it's a scam you need to sell all of your funds intimately. If not, it's just a correction of the market. You can sell and wait to buy at the lower price (in case you have experience).
if I still hold a coin until the price of a coin having increased or selling a coin to decrease a loss.
It depends on how much it is dumped but if it is not a scam or pump dump coin I would probably not sell it, some altcoins are not too much lower than the ico price but I would rather still hold.

For me I have to hold the coins I have, because I have bought coins in february, and until now the price of bitcoin and altcoin is still going down.

Watch and learn., when the market is weakened, i dont have enough money to buy the coins which i like the most, but when the market is green., i mean the prices are rising., thats the time that i have enough money to buy the coins which i like, the situation may not favor me all the time., but my strategy is always buying at the low price, then wait until the market recovers., investing in altcoins or any crypto has the big potential that you could earn some profits.

Altcoins are potentially great investments because they have more chance to grow. Small value coins can easily double in price which compared to bitcoin doubling price, is very difficult. When altcoins dump, don't worry. As long as you did research and believe in the value of your coin then it should very soon go up again. Pumps and dumps are part of altcoin market cycles, learn to profit from it, not get beaten by it.
