Because bitcoin is the based pair in all exchanges out there so if people sold other coins/altcoins for bitcoin then the price will go up for bitcoin as well as the market cap. Simple and easy explanation from yours truly. Wink

No one really knows and it's unpredictable for now. Cryptocurrency has been unstable this year and it's hard to conclude whether the prices and getting high or low. Speculations are unreliable as well so we can't do anything but just to wait until we are all sure that the bull run is happening.

all coins require bitcoin, but not with bitcoin. so that bitcoin can affect other coins when the price goes up or down. therefore many say that btc is the safest coin, because market movements are preceded by btc

the question is, when will the price of bitcoin rise? nobody knows that. predictions at the end of this year will increase sharply, but until now there are no signs for that either. Hopefully after etf, prices will rise again

Virtually the prices of other coins are determined by the price of bitcoin. Moreover, bitcoin has over 50% of the entire market cap, so it is very easy for the market to easily be influenced by the price of bitcoin.
