When do you decide to sell?

Is it a sat, a % of profit, or even a randomly thought up number in your head?

I am new to trading Crypto, but when I traded other stocks, I would aim for a certain percentage.
This seems much easier to hit that percentage, but much more risky.

How do you determine when to let it go?
It depends sir. There are many traders are selling their cryptocurrency at 20-30%, and that is the minimum pump of a coin. There some traders also, mostly professional trader are not selling their on percentage profit because there is a go signal when to sell by watching candle sticks, watch the price and etc.
Maybe selling it now is a good thing. But just in case, maybe the end of the year is a great opportunity to sell bitcoin. Well, at that time I'm sure bitcoin prices will surely go up high. But if you have other plans, I do not think it's a problem to sell them at the moment.

Yes if you have bought your bitcoins at lower price in the past then there is nothing wrong in selling them at a moment as this price can be treated as an good price to make good profits but if you are expecting even higher profits then better to wait till the end of the year.
Maybe in my case I will sell my btc when it has higher prices because no matter what it will change the value in the long run. Though there are many speculations that are happening right now but despite the situation I will still keep going on. It won't change the fact that bitcoin has many high and low of increasing its price. As much as possible I will take the risk.

My strategy is to sell whenever it reach my target profit which is usually 2 - 3% of the total amount I traded for that certain pair. I usually do day trading and concentrate on one pair at a time because if ever the price goes down then I would have to average down and lower down the target price which is usually reach for that day. If ever it will not reach the price then I would have to wait for tomorrow and then average down again until such time it will reach the target price.

Probably when you have gained money on it already you're going to sell those profit you get and leave your capital. Or you can even take a percentage like 20% of your profit will be sold and the rest are still on your wallets. It just upon you when to decide to sell those coins. Me myself I probably sell coins when I needed to, when the pricing rate is high because that's a lot of money.

The sell option is good when profit is about 30% above from your initial investment when the profit ratio is mor then 20% then you think about for sale .please avoid to purchase in hight price rate when market is hight .

Thanks for the input about this. Good example is today, I am trading using Poloniex and all altcoins are too high. Isn't a good time to trade now and wait all of those altcoins to drop and becomes red again? I'm still in the phase of "playing" the trading strategy, and planning to trade huge amount once I am already very familiar on how trading works.

Hi guys, I am new with trading. I just have a question, do you guys consider a time frame? Or regardless how long will it be as long as you can't see any profit, you will not sell your altcoins? Do you have like  "favorite altcoins" where you just focus on those because of good history graph?
That’s okay if you are new to trading but why are you after altcoins when bitcoins are at peak of their values. I don’t have any favorite altcoin at all. I don’t think so they have enough potential of making their investors rich. Time frame matters when you are doing short term trading. But if planning to have huge profit, then time frame does not matter.

this world is not let you make day trading.
thats why hodl is the best for cryptoworld.
i don't sell my bitcoins and altcoins. i will keep them when it hit to my target.
Yeah I will agree with you. While trading there no chance of being panic of some kind or news or some little loss. There is always a rise after every fall. Just keep investing. And holding when you thinks is not the right time will be a very sensitive move. This is what traders do. And most important thing is believe just believe that after falling it will rise with many time more profit.

Sometimes too early, sometimes too late... but that is all part of the learning experience. But mostly for me its the amount of profit I'm getting. I personally very rarely do the calculations and figure out all the percentages, mostly its just straight forward for me, I bought it at 10, its 15 now, looks good probably will not go much high(although I am mostly wrong), sell.

I agree with you that wrong decisions are the part of learning trading. Your strategy is not bad. It’s wise to sell bitcoins when they have reached your expected and desired values. Too much greed can make you a loser. Sometimes it’s good to take experts’ advice.

I think it will rely on you. Notwithstanding that, a few people offer their Bitcoin for their need and a few people truly require the cash with the goal that they offer it. Notwithstanding, the best thing that you have to do is to hold it. I believe it's smarter to offer it later on the grounds that the cost of Bitcoin will increment
Hold until you met your target, you cannot hold it forever as you know it will not gonna last forever, as long as you increase the value of your holdings and you get your capital you are not worried anymore to hold your profit for long term.

I am willing to lose my investment in bitcoin if that will be destined to happen but I know when it succeed I will get more money by trusting this.

I dont sell my Bitcoins usually regardless of pump or dump. I only sell my altcoins to make some profit over time. Usually the margin will be more than 10% to 15% of my initial buying and I get more than that almost every time.

i go with a % also.

but it is all in the speculation! you do some analysis, for example it can be TA and also combined with the news you get from here and there and then see how much rising potential the thing you've invested in has.

for example when you invest in an altcoin that has been at a fixed price for some time with a decent high volume (indicating accumulation) and you find a news that can cause a rise, you can easily aim for a 100% profit in a couple of days and sell there.

another example is when you find an altcoin that is randomly getting pumped. or an altcoin that is big, like the top 10 coins, and see them rising, it is best to aim for a smaller % and dump there. for example it can be 5% to 15%

it is also based on your strategy. some people prefer a much longer investment so they aim for bigger % and some do more of a short term, day trading kind of thing and they aim for a smaller %.

**** and for bitcoin: i only buy and HODL Grin

I usually go with a 15-30% on stocks but when it comes to Crypto, I have started watching gains over the past 3 days and all of them are currently sitting at 20%+ and another almost 100% in three days. Much more volatile, but now I'm stuck with the decision as all decisions to sit and wait or sell.

I guess my hardest struggle is finding those coins that provide legitimate and easy to find news. I research everything before going into it, but there isn't an abundance unless you are in BTC, ETC, or XRP.

I need more BTC to HOLD as you state. Lol.
It is a good thing to set price target in trading where you actually have a goal to hit in a specific trading. And after you hit that price that is the time you are going to decide whether to buy more , wait or to sell it on trading site. Because if you want to earn in trading you have to monitor the price and learn the specific trend of coin you chosen to trade. And afterwards just make sure to always make sure that in all your tradings you have the right to decide for you to control your own trading not just depending on other people.

There should always be a pre panned trading strategies where all you have to do really is just open a target buy order and sell it automatically on a target sell order. However, it is easier said than though though Smiley

I sell when I think the price has gone up more than its worth or when I generally need to. For bitcoin I diversify out into other alts and for altcoins I sell when it has risen too much for its potential.
Exactly you should need to sell at this point because it should be an advantage to you that you are talking like that because if you are selling bitcoin in a high price then you are great to understand the market of bitcoin if you are holding then it would be more good decision because everyone keep save there bitcoin for their future so I would give you an idea to keep and hold your bitcoin.
