No one knows when and how the Altcoin season will happen specially nowadays that we are experiencing a current downfall in the prices of cryptocurrencies which also includes the major crypto which is Bitcoin. Most Altcoins that can be found in the market mostly depends their prices on Bitcoin so when Bitcoin's price increase, so other Altcoins also experience the same thing. The only manner that some Altcoins can be independent in which their prices can turn into an increase even Bitcoin was in a dip in price is when such Altcoin do have its own improvement wherein people still do obtain demand on that certain Altcoin making a volume on demand which increases the price value of that Altcoin. But most of the time, Altcoins just rely on the price movement of Bitcoin because of its dominance in the entire cryptocurrency market. I think Altcoin season can still do happen but without assurance because people tend to buy more Bitcoin than Altcoins due to some related issues in the past which concerns some Altcoins that results why people trust Bitcoin than Altcoins.

It's probably sometime after the halving. Question is which altcoin that takes off the most.

I don't thing so it's happen after halving or in this year. In my little experience i don't think it'll happen very soon. Couple of altcoin doing so great like ETH, BNB, LTC but BTC popularity far away form them.

You can see every time when market was fall btc rise up slowly but altcoin don't. Why because altcoin too much depend on btc price. Alt never create their position like btc did. So pretty much expectation from alt is foolish. If somehow alt takes off in near future then my recommendation will be choose those coin which are much older in crypto market.

Articles from Binance research can be a good reference. Bitcoin dominance in the crypto market is very strong indeed. Had some changes occurred last month, observers saw an investor interest in altcoin that is getting bigger. This is indeed difficult to predict, but if the trend continues to develop, the altcoin season will certainly come. This is not easy because the market is saturated for quite a long time, so we must be patient and don't miss out on opportunities, wait and see.

I don't think as it is there would be a particular seasons for altcoins as everything has gone dip and once BTC starts coming up all altcoins would follow it but having a particular period or season for Altcoin with this total market knockdown I don't think such would be possible. Once bitcoin price starts coming up everything will follow it and pump. This is the general dip period for all coins.

I'm predicting DEX projects will be MASSIVE performers, just like Kucoin and COSS was it in 2017, only difference this time is decentralization versus centralized exchange platforms.

I'm buying Blocknet for this very reason, since I want to run a service node and get a passive income through their DEX fee's and XRouter/XBridge fees as well.

In the past, altcoins have enjoyed immense gains during altseasons. Well this happens only if there is Bitcoin dominance... And I believe there are two types of principles to follow them

* Bitcoin dominance Increases when more and more people buy and simply hold BTC.

* Bitcoin dominance decreases when more and more people sell BTC.

So altcoins fate is purely depend on BTCs price reaction or altcoins are independent???guys please share your thoughts on this.

Taking to mind the current status of the world right now from financial sector to businesses and markets I can only say altcoin season might take a long time. From the look of things, people are going for more cash, as in fiat so as to meet up with various personal needs while a greater number is converting to coins which they believe in such as Bitcoin because it is the best and USDT because it is stable.  Therefore, since people are buying Bitcoin it means there is less attention to altcoins which also means the fate of altcoins depends on Bitcoin dominance.

At the current situation altcoins price does not depend on Bitcoin price, now its depend on the roadmap and development of the altcoins project. The current situation is not like 2017 where the price of Bitcoin has an effect on the price of altcoins.

altcoins have always depended and will depend in the coming years on bitcoin. they develop separately from Bitcoin, but price values cannot move independently. the problem is that people consider altcoins riskier than bitcoin and that's why when price start moving people sell the riskiest assets

Selling is normal when people sees a profit on their investment, but what we need here is the FOMO because this is easiest shortcut to a bullish altcoin season. Based on the last altcoin season, it was altcoin which are more profitable that Bitcoin, so hopefully we will see it again once the altcoin season will come.

Everyone is definitely waiting for this as its over 2 years now, altcoins market is still not stable, majority of the coins has not recovered yet.

I don't think the altcoin season is coming right now. it might come after halving arrives, it's just that we don't know the right time, especially when there is still a virus outbreak spreading. however, current conditions are very difficult to predict. Well, it's hard to predict the altcoin season when bitcoin prices still go down like this.
- Indeed, the altcoin season is probably very far from us because in an environment where the economy is facing many difficulties, the capital poured into altcoin has become very low, expecting an atlcoin season is probably unrealistic compared to baseline conditions. And combined with the difficulty of the economy, Bitcoin seems to be starting a familiar scenario when good news like Halving comes out, instead of rampant growth, it will be a drastic price adjustment, haven't seen rays of hope to change this reality
I will still blame the current fear to the pandemic. It was a good sign to see ethereum pump in bitcoin value which is expected to flow to other reliable coin in the coming month, maybe the second half of the year but it is more difficult to predict altcoin season now. ATM ethereum is gradually losing all the bitcoin value he gain in the beginning of the year and if it persist for no reliable reason it will flow in altcoins. Lots of speculation in the space and we can only follow the market cause we have this unprecedented factor in the market that makes market prediction more difficult.

This year is a desperate year to enter this market because most of the coins in the top 100 are falling very quickly and you will definitely risk investing in this period. Currently, I am sure that altcoin season will be very unlikely and the current market depends heavily on the price of Bitcoin so in the near future investors need to be more careful when choosing to invest in this market.

Most of the time the price of altcoins depend on bitcoin.

When btc increase alts do follow thats why this year many investors are looking forward for bitcoin halving because of the possible effect on it to bitcoin's price. But unforunately covid-19 affect the whole market making the price of crypto to decline.

I don't think covid-19 affects the price of cryptocurrency. The behavior of bitcoin in the market is not much different from what it was before the coronavirus. Traders were able to get up to 80% of the profit in the last 10 days. I think that the halving of bitcoin will have a greater impact on the price of altcoins .

It is difficult to determine when an altseason starts because it is difficult to predict market movements. I agree that there is a condition where the dominance of bitcoin decreases called altseason but we also have to look at the marketcap value because if the marketcap value is fixed then the bitcoin price is going down

I agree with your opinion, because I have experienced huge profits in 2018 when the price of bitcoin surged and altcoin followed the price of bitcoin, I hope it will happen again this year.
Didn't in 2018 Bitcoin experience a slight price drop? so that some Altcoins also fell, because as I recall, the growth of the very good Bitcoin only occurred in 2017, as soon as it entered 2018 Bitcoin immediately experienced a fall in prices.
In 2018, bitcoin started to fall while alts are soaring high until the second quarter thats what I recall.

about the altcoin season , i think it will not come this times because look at bitcoin  , btc is still on critical state  . linking btc to alts is more possible than btc/crypto to corona because its already proven many times based on me and others observation .

Still far from the altcoin season because in times of crisis like this no coin will have the potential to rise unless the corona virus outbreak really disappears in this world so I think that recovery can happen again.

But the altcoin season I think there has never been more altcoin now being shitcoin on the market or bullish and bearish so keep looking at the views of others responding that the altcoin season will exist.
I think that's impossible.

What you say is very true in the crypto world often happens like that altcoin always affects Bitcoin, but not only that the value of Bitcoin and Altcoin Rising also very influential on the positive news that discusses the advantages of Bitcoin and vice versa, and now the dominance of bitcoins decreases because the Korona virus is caused by disrupting trade activity in every country.
when such a situation, it is very difficult to predict the development of crypto in general. because until now there are still many countries that have just begun a virus pandemic. and we know this virus outbreak seems to be a world epidemic, so the world will be together to overcome it. I think if this virus can be handled, then the crypto world will recover
