We can never know when the next altcoin season will come and can only hope it will come soon. So it's better for you to keep waiting for it to come and if now you have benefited from the altcoin, you can sell it or keep waiting for an even higher price. But because bitcoin prices still can't rise higher than we want, it seems that altcoin prices also have to wait a little longer because altcoin movements depend on bitcoin movements. So stay patient while waiting for the altcoin season to arrive and don't panic if altcoin prices don't go up either.

yes, converting half your assets into bitcoin, as well as choosing a popular altcoin to hold would be a good decision.
no one knows when the altcoin season will occur, but some have suggested that it could happen in 2024/25 after the bitcoin halving. if we trace the historical development of crypto, we will see that the price development will increase in the year after the halving occurred. However, this is only speculation, no one really knows about it. Besides that, so you don't miss the bull market later, choose a trusted altcoin like ethereum, or bnb.

I think for the conditions of the time no one really knows about this but in which case I'm not too sure it will come at the right time. The benchmark remains for the bitcoin halving but even then I'm still not sure altcoins will recover fully and it's likely that only coins with enough names and good projects will follow suit in this halving.
The situation remains the same for altcoins they will partially rise when bitcoin begins to return to a bull run and will collapse entirely when bitcoin corrects.
Correction of price value for Bitcoin is versatile and volatile, but capturing the timing would results in gains. Altcoins have specific period they do shoot to the moon but I'm certain that their season is not triggered yet. If we follow the market, there's down and uptrend deceiving most traders to fall for bull season, we should be 70% sure of outcomes of the market and knows when to make good entries in the market. Bitcoin is top, while altcoins are inferior to it, they always wait for the go ahead bull turn from Bitcoin before they make further upward movements on the charts, they're always among the top gainers and also the top losers in the market.

Bitcoin halving was just become one of point to determine the bullish trend but it will not always come when the halving already done. It needs time for bitcoin to increase after halving. That being said that if needs around a few years for bitcoin to increas and go to the moon. The fact that if you shall watch it and it needs around 1 or 2 years for bitcoin to increase after the halving time. It was giving long term impact. people should not expect to  see bitcoin pump asap after halving.

I have decided I have too many altcoins in my portfolio and want to convert up to half of them into Bitcoin but I am waiting for the next pump like we saw in January to do this as don't want to convert while my altcoins are 20% down.
If you wait for altcoins to recover, it's the same as waiting for Bitcoin to recover. If you convert to Bitcoin, then you will get the same amount of Bitcoin as now. Because altcoins will also grow based on Bitcoin.
This is different when you convert to stablecoins. You will get different results if you convert now and you convert when the price goes up.

It will always depends on the fundamentals of the project. It will always be the one to identify if it can recover fully, Even a famous altcoin can't recover fully on a bull market if the developers have slowly developing the project or if it doesn't have enough community support or lose it's support from the project. We know that there are named famous altcoins that didn't reached it's all time high price last bull market despite of the fact they have a great support from the community but obviously it's not aligned with the trend that's why it didn't catch up that much attention from the community. Trending coins are the one who really got the attention of public during an altcoin season and these coins might be the one who started these altcoin season.

I have only been in crypto last 12 months so not that experienced when it comes to understanding cycles. Do we have any idea when the next altcoin season is due?
You have two choices, you can either keeping holding and they fall further without any hope of pumping in the next bull market since not all altcoins that are trading now surfer to next bull market.

Or you sell then now to Bitcoin and be guaranteed when the next bull market comes that you'll be among those that'll profit since you're buying Bitcoin now at its bottom and will sell them high next bull market.

The bull market will be happening very late in 2024 after the halving event of Bitcoin blocks or in 2025 like we saw it happening in 2021 which is exactly one year after the previous Bitcoin halving in 2020
I would guess that buying bitcoin means that you would be profiting when the bull run comes, not sure how much but you would be profiting for sure. After that, you could take out your initial investment and the rest could go towards some altcoins and you could make some profit that way.

For example, you invest 1k, and then bitcoin doubles in price, you keep 1k in bitcoin again, and the other 1k goes into altcoins, not all into same one, but like divide that into multiple amounts and you invest accordingly. This way you would be able to make a lot of profit whenever you can, and it will allow you to make sure you are invested in bitcoin so there is a guarantee.

Well i don't think that anyone really knows when the next altcoin season will start so all we can do is give you our best guesses. I am interested into cryptos since the end of 2017, therefore i witnessed a few bullruns and bear market since then. Usually a bull market starts with a bitcoin price that is strongly rising not only for a few days but for a few weeks and during that time the altcoins are not rising as fast as Bitcoin itself. Afterwards after the price of BTC is stable on a new high level usually the bigger altcoins also start to heavily increase in terms of the price. Then at the end also the very small projects are pumping. That's how it was in the last few bullruns.

We are still very far away from the day a new altcoin season could appear, an altcoin season most often appears after a bull run has been ongoing for some time, and since the bull run will still take some time before it appears you will have too take a choice, which is to take a small loss now, get bitcoin and then get into altcoins when the altcoin season comes, or keep holding your altcoins for the moment, neither is an easy choice to make so it is up to you to decide what is best for you and your portfolio.

I would advise you to be cautious when it comes to timing the market, as it can be difficult to predict when the next pump or altcoin season will occur. While it can be tempting to wait for a price surge before making any moves, it's important to remember that the cryptocurrency market can be unpredictable and volatile.

Instead of trying to time the market, it may be more beneficial to focus on diversifying your portfolio and investing in projects that you believe have long-term potential. By doing your own research and staying up-to-date on news and developments in the cryptocurrency industry, you can make informed decisions about which projects to invest in.

If you do decide to convert some of your altcoins to Bitcoin, it's important to consider the fees and risks involved in the transaction. Be sure to choose a reputable exchange and consider the tax implications of your actions.

It's understandable that you want to maximize your gains and minimize your losses by converting your altcoins into Bitcoin at the right time. However, predicting the next altcoin season is difficult as cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and can be influenced by a range of factors.

That being said, historical trends have shown that altcoin seasons tend to occur during periods of overall bullish sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. Factors such as increasing adoption, positive news, and new developments in technology can all contribute to this sentiment.

My opinion for the decision to convert your altcoins into Bitcoin is a personal one and should be based on your individual investment goals and risk tolerance. It may be helpful to consult with a financial advisor or do further research on market trends and analysis to make an informed decision.

In my prediction, the altcoin rally will only come after bitcoin completes its recovery and market restructuring - only bitcoin can create confidence and drive the market to move. Bitcoin and altcoins have a mutual relationship and it looks like it will only come when the next bitcoin halving is in 2024. Now is a good time to observe and organize your portfolio as well as consider your strategy.

There's no more altcoin season because Bitcoin is unbeatable, the only way altcoins can overtake Bitcoin was on 2017/2018, but Ethereum still not able to beat Bitcoin despite Bitcoin price is dump and Ethereum is rising. Nowadays most of altcoins are scam and only created for money purpose, the cycle never end and that's make an investor will not hold altcoins for a long time.
What do you mean there is no more altcoin season? Altcoin season was never a way between Bitcoin leadership vs altcoin, no altcoin is dragging anything with Bitcoin, altcoin season mean that altcoin pumping after Bitcoin is done pumping and the dominance starts decreasing.

The only thing I have to say now is to keep having faith since we still trust the process. Once Bitcoin price start pumping consecutively, all Altcoins will defiantly pump but I think this is not the right time because the market is yet to take a normal pumping shape.
2024 is just some months away, and Bitcoin is yet to regain it all time high, what is our hope that it will sure pass its previous all time high?

Altcoins season will happen if Bitcoin continues to pump because that is already a confirmation of a bull market and good altcoins will always follow that. You are still new in this market and need to learn a lot, I suggest to slow down and just enjoy learning while taking every opportunity. Don't rush for an instant profit, just be consistent and you'll make more money. Altcoins are a good alternative, you just need to choose the best price to enter and which project to support with.

always look out for bitcoin season first, it's the bane of altcoin bullruns generally after bitcoin is rising high, altcoins will follow, you can see the pattern from the chart not too long ago when bitcoin rising from $23k to $27k and altcoins are all following and increase massively.

Do we have any idea when the next altcoin season is due?
It's most likely before the pump of bitcoin, you'll hear people say that it could happen by the end of this year but nothing is certain for this year. But what's certain is that by next year bitcoin will have its halving and that will lead again for the price of it to pump which will lead to altcoin season again. The cycle sometimes isn't being followed and we don't know if that's going to be the exact time that it will pump.
Once the bull run is activated, all of the efforts being done during this phase through accumulation will be paid off.
