Every day more and more ICO collect money, and then disappear. Do you think we need sanctions for ICO?
I think people should be really carefiul with ICOs - it is like looking for a needle in the hay to find a proper ICO and get money from it

Sanctions... I am not sure. I just think we should punish harder people who are hackers ans scammers. Then it will be peaceful

I'll say between 2-5 years of it could be 10
Not all ICOs are bad, so why not to give them a chance to stay on the market a little longer, you can get some profit from them

There is an opinion that all or almost all ICOs are bad and you will only lose your money without any chance to get profit

I guess it'll never end.I think just to work with those who have already carried out successful projects and did not cheat.Especially other ways that I can see.Vedb deception was and will be!I think this is just to share with each other, where everyone participated and got benefit of a new project from the same admin!

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has initiated the first in the history of the case of fraud in the initial placement of crypto currency (Initial Coin Offering, ICO). The accused are businessman Maxim Zaslavsky and his two companies - Diamond Reserve Club World (DRC World) and REcoin Group Foundation, the regulator said. According to the SEC, they sold unregistered securities and offered investors non-existent tokens or crypto currency. Investors were promised a solid return on investment from companies, which, however, did not conduct any activity in principle, the SEC writes.

Don't you think the crypto won't be considered decentralize if there is an organization that governs the crypto ICO which they will verify whether the team is legit and are capable of making the project successful?

I like having the ICOs though but there are just some scams that will just take money from us and ran.

I agree. We certainly need some sort of regulation or governance to manage these ICOs to eliminate the bad actors. But I think this needs to be done by the crypto community using blockchain and smart-contracts, not by a government or a centralized authority.

I believe that soon the number of ICO projects will decrease. However, in the future only really good projects will remain

If we look at the search trends and hype around ICOs we can see that it is lower than 2017. The euphoria is going down since a lot of investors had lost their funds. The hype could end at the end of 2018, since all major advertising networks are banning them and regulations arise.

But that could be the good news, with increasing regulation and difficulty successfully promote ICO, there will be
more quality projects that will survive. They will need to start with decent initial funding from private investors. Therefore ICOs will need to go through more due diligence.

I think this hype is still lasting for a long time because today we are still at the beginning of the ICO trend
We need sanctions but that is only for scammers, ICO only requires regulation and investor awareness to be more selective

The situation is very interesting actually;
"which one will kill ICOs? regulated conditions or not regulated conditions"
maybe in both situation, ICOs can survive or can die.
İf the teams can not collect money for their project, many of them cannot release their product. Which means many good projects cannot join the crypto world

I am not waiting for ICO hype end, as it is now the easiest and cheapest way to promote your project, attract audience and go into crowdfunding. It is a win win strategy, while everybody gets profit - team, investors, bounty participants.

I do not believe every claim made by many ICO as regard fund they have made is true unless I can trace such fund on the blockchain. I dare say 90% of ICO fail to raise money require for their project or lust. However, those that raise money and serious are developing their project and they are accountable to their investors!

I don't really think we need sanctions, as it doesn't work so easily in an industry that is inherently anarchist and anti-control. I think we need more education. If people knew how to better examine an ICO, they wouldn't be so easily swindled

We need strict rules for ICO projects. Need to those people who carry ICO failed after completing it just to disappear. We also need rules that will not allow weak projects to enter the market. Either to do well or not to do such a project.
