in my opinion the current altcoin is the best for long-term investment is ripple. starting at a cheap price, the ripple can go up to $ 1.
I do prefer top 5 altcoins as they are very popular in leading in CMC table, ripple is proving again and again as a best coin. This shows the significance of a coin as how good it is, still waiting to see ETH as a best coin.
For now the market is struggling over the past few months, altcoin has experienced a decline in prices so it needs more consideration during the purchase of good coins for us to buy. in my opinion Ripple coins are able to compete with Ethereum coins that we know have good quality we buy. maybe in the next month or the end of the month Riple will continue to increase.
Ripple and Stellar both doing very well in last bad times just look at the X/BTC charts. Also if you want a coin with some bigger perspective than Monero is one of the best ones (I'm talking about XMR/BTC price chart).
I recommend now not to invest in the main coins of the market, but rather to invest in little known coins that have the potential to grow, but rest assured that after the growth of such coins we will see a big drop 
There are many good coins availble in the market. It depends whether you are looking for long term investment short-term investment. For long term holdings eth , btc and eos are good options. And for short term holdings tron and dash would be better options.
At current condition it's not good to invest in any coins according to me because the market is going down day by day so it's better to wait for the stable condition or when the market shows uptrend.

I think every coins in top 10 cmc is good to buy, especially for top 5 in CMC. Do your own research and then you can choose which coins you want to buy and i recommend you to invest in ethereum, especially at this moment when eth price so very undervalue.

We all know that the most valuable crypto currency of all is bitcoin and is the most potential and the most beneficial one and thus is the reason why millions of people around the world are investing into bitcoin and this is because is on the top of crypto ranking but we all also aware with the downside of bitcoin now a days do so apart from bitcoin if we look at other options then etherum could be the choice as the valuation of etherum is also continuously increasing from the beginning and the rates in present are also good so after bitcoin, if there is any other potentiating crypto currency, then it is the etherum.

As I see that you like the ones that are not in the top 10, I can recommend NEO, is very good currency and probably can net you a good profit, of course you have to wait a little, because it depends on different factors, but if they do, it would be an excellent coin.

The current market is totally down so I prefer stellar and Bitcoin for this situation so it is really good buy all the altcoins in this bearish market. All the peoples are continuously buying more Bitcoin and altcoins in this week again market is moving forward and we will earn decent profit in each trading. So crypto hunters are waiting for this moment and it will be going peak in as soon as possible.

Maybe stellar/lumens, i heard blockchain have it in their wallet and i think it is good for it, because blockchain wallet supported it, people will think it is safe to make investment on that coin.
There are many potential coins in top 100 in coinmarketcap, if you want high benefit but high risk, find some coins which have the low cap but potential such as Tolar.
