I think that EOS or TRON will be the fastest blockchains now if we consider the transactions per second rate.
But, later, after IOTA will be more used, IOTA will be the fastest because Tangle is a nice solution how to solve the scalabillity problem Wink.

I do not think that several miliseconds really can change a thing, so I am not sure that there is a point in making every new platform faster and faster.
Every millisecond is important if you want to be a global digital currency. Bitcoin can handle less than 10 transactions per second and Ethereum can handle around 20. VISA, for example, handle around 2000 tps and that number can go up to 4000 tps.

I would say any small blockchain is instant.
Basically, the way the technology works is that the less amount of transactions, the less volume of confirmations that need to be made, means faster speed.
At a certain point, it becomes basically instant.

But if you are looking for a crypto that can always be fast, you will have to look for non blockchain projects.
The three biggest now are IOTA, Nano, and Byteball.
Out of these, I would say Nano is the most reliable and fastest.

there are a lot of projects going on right now that promise to have incredible speed, but that's just it, they are only promises.
Whether they can deliver anything, like 1mil transactions per second, than that would also feel "instant".

for now what I believe is coin with a good speed of delivery is XRP,
the fastest I've ever sent using XRP is 5 seconds, between one wallet with another wallet,
but not including wallet exchanger, because usually the wallet exchanger requires manual confirmation every time you do a WD or deposit.
and besides XRP, I also recommend Stellar, because the delivery is also fast.

Money drives people mad, it's sad! People buy XRP cause it's stable, but it has many demerits and doesn't meet the purposes of the community! The coin is centralized, so be cautious when buying in long-term!

As Bitcoin becomes slower each day in transaction confirmation time, other alternatives could prove to become useful for everyday transactions. Cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and even Ethereum have faster transaction confirmation time allowing you to send and receive coins at a hassle-free way.

Thus, among the wide variety of altcoins, many have block times which are near instantaneous. Based on these facts, which cryptocurrencies do you consider the fastest?

I would appreciate if you would list it or them here.  Smiley

There are too much of altcoins, so there will not be certain answer and you need to look what altcoin is the best for you in terms of use to make a choise.

I come across a lot of solutions that saying that they are the fastest and I have no time to compare all of them, but I am sure that several researchers have done it.

in any case the update of Constantinople failed the testing. perhaps the ethereum team is implementing everything with good results in January 2019.

The Ethereum constantinople upgrade failed on the testnet. That's the main reason, why Casper has been delayed for Ethereum until 2019. In the bright side, Ethereum will scale in the safest way possible compared with other alternatives which scale quickly without ensuring the quality of the implemented upgrades. As such, it's not quantity that matters (like number of TPS) but quality instead. If Ethereum could scale safely with it's Casper PoS and Sharding, then it would become a success.

By then, Ethereum will become one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, just like in its early days. In the meantime, we could enjoy altcoins with near-instant speeds that make our life much easier. DAG cryptocurrencies seem to be the best bet towards allowing users to make micropayments at the least time possible without any additional costs. On the other hand, DPoS cryptocurrencies such as EOS and Tron are also fast with cheap costs. This means that cryptocurrencies are only getting better over time, which will result in massive adoption from people within the mainstream world.

Nonetheless, if you're looking into the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, then DPoS and DAG cryptocurrencies are the ones that fulfil such purpose. It's been proven that PoW based cryptos like Bitcoin and Litecoin are extremely slow and resource intensive. Which is why, the future lies on PoS, DPoS, and DAG for greater scalibility and energy efficiency. Just my thoughts Grin
I believe bitcoin is much fastest than other coin because as you look in its market value it increases highly and widely accepted investors as well. I hope it will remain stable in its price and continue to grow more.

It also does not matter what technologies one or another coins use, because it doesn’t affect the price of a coin because the price is formed from crowd manipulations, look at trends which are now in market  Wink

Also I would to mention a big update from Ethereum side. Vitalik was talking about network emprovements that will allow to speed up the network to around 1000 tx/s. 2019 will bring nice updates.

Nice. Without a doubt, Ethereum will scale until it becomes flexible enough for people in the mainstream world. Increasing TPS is key towards the adoption of Ethereum and its tokens among individuals, businesses and corporations alike. The upcoming Casper PoS and Sharding upgrades, will totally rock Ethereum as they drastically change the smart contract platform for the better. Right now, Ethereum might be slow and costly in fees, but everything is bound to change sooner or later.

Once it scales, then it could be compared to other cryptocurrencies which are fast enough for the mainstream world. On the other hand, Tron is a smart contract platform which could greatly rival Ethereum since it's much faster, cheaper, and it's fully compatible with the EVM. This means that existing developers within Ethereum, could migrate their projects easily within the Tron network, without having to learn a new programming language at all.

Therefore, the future lies in not only fast and cheap cryptocurrencies for daily transactions, but also for smart contract platforms that are highly scalable for the mainstream world. In my opinion, the fastest cryptocurrencies right now are: Bitshares, Tron, EOS, Ark, Lisk, Stellar, Ripple, Nano, IOTA, NEO, and even Credits. Smiley

Network transaction leaders are:
Ripple-1,500
Bitcoin Cash - 60
Litecoin -56
Dash - 48
Ethereum - 20
Bitcoin -7.
There is still such a coin XEM, If the developers launch Catapult update, the transfer rate will increase to 3,000 transactions per second.

Nice observation, mate. Without a doubt, Ripple is by far the fastest cryptocurrency in existence today. This is probably because of its centralized design, compared with most popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. I would like to add Stellar to the list as it has somewhat the same technology as Ripple (XRP), but with a greater level of decentralization than the latter. Stellar's block times are blazing fast like Ripple, and it has recently implemented smart contract functionality with SSC (Stellar Smart Contracts).

Tokens can be easily launched on the Stellar blockchain, which serves as a greater alternative to Ethereum due to its high TPS and dirt-cheap fees. Several decentralized exchanges have been launched which make use of the Stellar blockchain for quick settlements. As such, it looks the future lies on cryptocurrencies that deliver near-instant speeds at the lowest cost possible.

On the other hand, NEM (XEM) is quite fast too, with smart contact functionality (NEM's API) and plenty of advanced features. Once Catapult release becomes public, then without a doubt, TPS will rise to unprecedented levels. Catapult is somewhat similar to Bitcoin's Lightning Network. This means that NEM and many other cryptocurrencies we know and love today will become highly scalable in the future.

Nonetheless, cryptocurrencies would become even faster if they would provide zero confirmations (0-conf) without compromising security. Bitcoin Cash is already working on that, and if it becomes a success, then transactions would be instant, making it convenient for merchants and businesses alike. Just my opinion Smiley

As far as I know VISA allows up to 1500 transactions per second, XRP allows up to 1000, BCH around 3500. But I heard about Traxion project, this coin is not on the market yet, but they have tested their blockchain and it allows up to 100.000 TPS.
Well, VISA is not a cryptocurrency, BUT a company of plastic cards. Soon Ethereum will compete in terms of transaction speed. New platform coming soon
to profit quickly and pretty much we can use trading. the ability of trading to give us more of the profits shown by the results obtained in more and more markets are increasing. so trading can give us many profit.

Judging from the frequency of its speed, bitcoin has a very fast frequency and cannot be defeated by any coin in crypto. From the advantages of bitcoin, bitcoin also has the characteristic that its increase cannot occur frequently, and its increase is difficult to predict. Become a good recommendation to invest, provided you can be patient in facing bitcoin.

I think it is still dash. Because your transfer can be done in it instantly, with just an approximate second you already receive your fund. And if you go beyond the crypto space. Many tokens now are good at sending in a faster way.
