The best alternative to ETH in this direction, in my opinion, is difficult to find today. It is this superiority of this coin that allows it to be one of the most popular.

Nowadays there are lots of such coins, too many of them on the market, and they are with their own Blockchain  and are faster than Bitcoin. And the biggest problem is that if the network is not overloaded it will work very fast. I think such coins like EOS, Litecoin and some others are fast and good one, and they are even faster than the Ethereum.

I would have to say ripple, it is hands down the fastest coin in the market. The transactions are received instantly and there is no kind of delay because confirmation of the transaction on the network is so fast. It is true that the speed of bitcoin has gone down significantly and one there is higher volume then the network would be even slower and that is where coins like ripple would be so important.
I think that EOS and POA are now the fastest, but no one uses EOS, since it is super expensive, and nobody knows about POA in the world yet.

It seems to me that the EOS project today has a lot of fans precisely because of the speed of the project, because this project has already processed a huge number of blocks, I am sure that the speed of the project is large.

EOS may be one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, but it lacks popularity unlike Ethereum. On top of that, the cryptocurrency is partly centralized, as Block Producers could effectively freeze your account at will, adding the risk of middleman cryptocurrencies were meant to eliminate in the first place. It's unfortunate, but the true reality as EOS resembles the nature of XRP as a centralized cryptocurrency. However, in terms of speed, and costs, EOS wins by a long shot.

There are absolutely no fees which makes EOS ideal for mainstream dApps. If EOS takes the right path to decentralization by making modifications to its Arbitration model, then it could easily rival Ethereum and several other smart contract platforms. When EOS is compared with other cryptocurrencies in existence, it's quite fast but not the fastest at all. I believe that Dash may be the fastest among them all since it provides a feature known as InstantSend. With it, people can send transactions instantly from one Dash wallet to another without hassles. Other cryptocurrencies which are quite fast are: Steem, Bitshares, and Ark.

However, in terms of popularity and mainstream acceptance, Bitcoin is still the winner among them all. If Bitcoin wouldn't have been the first-mover within the market, other cryptocurrencies would've taken its place by now since they're faster, cheaper, and full of features. Nevertheless, it's good to know about the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, as they provide a better alternative towards Bitcoin when sending money in the least amount of time possible. Just my opinion Smiley

The average transaction speed for Ripple is four seconds. In the last six weeks, daily Ripple transactions have quickly gone over one mln.

The average transaction speed for Bitcoin is 78 minutes.

As Bitcoin becomes slower each day in transaction confirmation time, other alternatives could prove to become useful for everyday transactions. Cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and even Ethereum have faster transaction confirmation time allowing you to send and receive coins at a hassle-free way.

Thus, among the wide variety of altcoins, many have block times which are near instantaneous. Based on these facts, which cryptocurrencies do you consider the fastest?

I would appreciate if you would list it or them here.  Smiley
Cryptocurrency is a very good medium. Coins like Paragon, Stellar and Power ledger are great for investments. These are the fastest currencies.

It would be easier if you provided TPS and confirmation times.

GoChain has an active mainnet running at 1300 Transactions per second, with transactions confirmation times of approx 4-6 seconds on the blockchain. Most important of all, it is 100% Ethereum compatible Shocked Q2 next year it will be upgraded to 13000 tps  Cool

New age blockchains should be very fast, for instance, zilliqa promising around 2-3k transactions per second due to sharding system. Another project that aims very fast transactions is Sparkster, but it is in development.

Yes . I see Bitcoin as the first currency and it is the king of cryptography. . But there are altcoins with technology developed and manufactured fast. ETH has gained a lot of popularity in this field, which is used in many transactions.  Easy to use . There are also a lot of altcoin also being popular.

Last year I wrote that in the first places there will be ethereum and pulsation. Was wrong. I think their place will take EOS)
Then that can be wrong again. Crypto transactions are growing so that really depends on how the network's stability of that coin is fine.

I tried Dogecoin and ethereum and when I used them it was almost an instant transaction that has been confirmed on the spot.

Dash has InstantSend, which is about 2 seconds and gives you 4 confirmations on a transaction.
It also has that transaction locked to prevent double-spending.
I just found out about this problem and I tried to move the Dash from Bittrex to the local Exchange.
Maybe this will be the best choice for me if I succeed in the transaction with 2 seconds.

This top10 is misleading,
Dash isn't the fastest crypto so far. Even Nano beat it.
They forgot to consider a lot of cryptos.

Dash is one of the fastest cryptocurrencies to date (just like Nano) due to its Instant Transactions feature. By making use of this, you can send money in Dash to anyone in the world within a few seconds in a near-instant manner. It's one of the most undervalued cryptocurrencies right now, considering that it has been the pioneer of Instant transactions technology. Nano appeared just after Dash did in the crypto space, but has managed to stay on top, probably because of better marketing/promotion. Despite this, Nano is also one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence due to the use of the DAG algorithm.

Other cryptocurrencies which are based on the same algorithm (such as IOTA, Constellation, Coti, and Hashgraph) can scale indefinitely without experiencing delays in transaction processing time. However, it is debatable, whenever they're highly secure against external attacks or not. Even DPoS based cryptocurrencies like Bitshares, Steem, EOS, Lisk, and Ark, are extremely fast and cheap in fees. Some of the coins mentioned here even have zero fees, which make them practical for micropayments and more.

However, I believe that there will be only one winner, which could prove to become the fastest cryptocurrency among them all. This is greatly determined with the number of people using a specific cryptocurrency. Hence, the more people are transacting in a blockchain network, the greater the load will be, which causes the performance of the network to decline. Just my thoughts Grin

Are you serious? Zilliqa is the much faster than all of the mentioned, also EOS would be one of the fastest one. Also I like the Graph technology that is kind of similar to blockchain, but I guess it is much faster and cheaper technology.

That's certainly true, mate. Graphene technology developed by Bitshares, is fast and cheap with the ability to handle massive TPS. Cryptocurrencies which make use of such technology are Bitshares, EOS, and Steem making them one of the fastest and most widely used blockchains to date. If you look closely at the Blocktivity website, you'll notice that cryptocurrencies based on such technology are the most used, while other popular cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin and Ethereum) are behind them. This means that DPoS based cryptocurrencies with Graphene technology are much more scalable and cheaper than PoW and PoS based cryptocurrencies.

Things aside, Zilliqa will be one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence once its mainnet launches during the beginning of next year. By making use of Sharding technology, Zilliqa will be able to scale to millions of TPS without delays. Best of all, it's a smart contract platform like Ethereum that has its own programming language for dApps. Therefore, the competition is becoming fierce as new alternatives emerge on the market which rival popular cryptocurrencies into obtaining the top spot in fastest TPS and cost-effectiveness within the blockchain space.
