I would like to request to be white-listed so I can ask some questions of the mining community. I've done quite a bit of research on Bitcoin in the past 48 hours, so I have at least a few bits of knowledge under my belt Smiley Specifically, I have posted this question:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/p2pool-mini-pool-server-set-up-question-173286

Text:

Myself and some of my buddies are starting our own tiny pool that I plan on setting up through p2pool. Not a whole lot, just more of an experiment currently. We're running BitMinter currently and are all assigning our 'workers' under the same address, but are looking to switch, since I believe it might be more beneficial for us to participate in a smaller pool (or so I think - we'll find out.) This is going to be a manual handout instead of an automatic handout - we're all more or less in this together with the current equipment we have.

I just want to be certain that I set this up properly so that we are receiving our bitcoins appropriately:

Currently, I have run_p2pool.exe running on my desktop (192.168.1.149), with the default ports. Current parameters:

Code:
-a 1GgYw8mTRcLVzYnqWiqkSK6DAWF34jDzA7

I am running cgminer.exe on my laptop with the following parameters:

Code:
-o http://192.168.1.149:9332 -u -p

bitcoin.conf entries:

Code:
rpcuser=
rpcpassword=
server=1

In order for my friends to act as 'workers,' would they just need to run cgminer.exe with the associated parameters above? Including the username and password? (Regardless of the networking aspect - no problems there) Or do they also need to run p2pool.exe on their own machines (meaning they would have to run the Bitcoin client themselves, along with downloading the entire block chain like I had to)?

Given the above, will all of our MH/s work be contributed to the same address/wallet? Or, is there any way for me to find out explicitly what address my work is being 'paid' to? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I am going to be using my desktop as my main worker, not my laptop - currently set up backwards because I started out on my PC first .

I'm asking for a whitelist so I can help out (to the degree I can = website + hosting) for the DIY PCB with Avalon project (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/diy-pcb-with-avalon-the-quarter-stick-needs-help-161715). I've asked allten if I can help out by mail and he said "make it happen" so this is me trying to make it happen. Being whitelisted would probably help with communicating with the ones interested and involved in the project.
Thank you

Please consider me for whitelisting. I've been lurking here a lot, and have become very knowledgeable about bitcoin in the process. Thank you for this great resource. Looking forward to being able to contribute where I can.

Hello.  I'd like to get whitelisted.  I need to purchase something for sale on your forums.  I'm also very active on Reddit under "gsibble" and am working on several Bitcoin business concepts.  Thanks!

Well, not to offend you or anything, but I don't think this is much evidence at all.

We don't know who created their website, they probably don't manage it themself. And it looks like Yandex is a worldwide company.

I'm no experts on managing big websites so I can't say, but I'm thinking this ain't much to discredit them yet.

Still worth posting, but I'd be careful when you say some evidence Wink

Alright with your lame rules I will add it here and someone will pick it up:

This is an interesting one which I am little suspicious of.

I am certainly interested in this sort of development but it is amazing how light-in-detail the proposals are.

It does seem strange that so much is left for the forum user to try and substantiate

Having had a look at your website  I have had a look at the source code and one thing stands out as odd. You have a russian website tracker http://metrika.yandex.ru/

Now this is very odd!! Your typical European would not choose do do their Web Analytics with a package the from Russia and written in Russian. Your average Swede does not speak Russian so why would you choose this over Google Analytics, Yahoo Analytics, Woopra etc etc which are free and global.

Yandex.ru 'Worldwide' caters for:

Belarus
Kazakhstan
Russia
Turkey
Ukraine

Here is some information about Yandex from Wikipedia

Yandex (Russian: Яндeкc) is a Russian Internet company which operates the largest search engine in Russia with about 60% market share in that country.[3] It also develops a number of Internet-based services and products. Yandex ranked as the 4th largest search engine worldwide, based on information from Comscore.com, with more than 150 million searches per day as of April 2012, and more than 50.5 million visitors (all company's services) daily as of February 2013.[4] The company's mission is to provide answers to any questions users have or think about (explicit or implicit).[5] Yandex also has a very large presence in Ukraine and Kazakhstan, holding nearly third of all searches in each country's individual market and nearly a half (43%) of all searches in Belarus.[6]
The Yandex.ru home page has been rated as the most popular website in Russia.[7] Yandex attracts more than 56 million users from all over the world.[8] The web site also operates in Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and Turkey.[9] Another company, Yandex Labs, is a wholly owned division of Yandex that is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

All very good if you are Russian probably not so good if you are from Stockholm.

This literally does not make any sense whatsoever unless you are Russian posing as Swedish.

Hi there

Please can I be whitelisted as I have an important post for https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.220 this thread.

It gives evidence that these new Swedish ASIC producers are scammers and my post will give some damning evidence which I think they will have difficulty explaining.

Thanks!   Grin

I request to be whitelisted.

The reason? I wish to post in the MarketPlace and also would like to send a PM to a forum member who might tell me how I can buy bitcoins using cash.

If you decide not to whitelist me, perhaps you could help send my PM to the forum member on my behalf? I would appreciate that too.

Been studying bitcoin for 3 months. First turned on to it from AVTM, yet to make a purchase as I have very little btc.

I am fairly familiar with forum rules. I've been on your forum obviously for those 3 months reading, learning. I'm not a big poster on any forum I am a member of, but the limit in this forum means I am unlikely to ever be much of a poster. I'll keep trying to find something worthwhile to respond to or ask in Newbie.
