I think Bitcoin will be a leader of the market for crypto currency for a long time and he will be the leader at least until the end of 2019
Although I love Ethereum and hold it, I do not believe that it will be the winner and the King. I am sure that Bitcoin will recover, gain, and take the leading position.
Bitcoin is a king that needs no debate and this is because many people have made millions with Bitcoin. Ordinary people who don't know about crypto have heard about Bitcoin, because the development of this coin is very popular.
I suppose BTC will be raising, but Ethereum blockchain will be more prosperous. XRP will be used by banks worldwide competing for the market cap with ETH. Same situation on a higher level

In my opinion the price of BTC will be higher than all. And it can not be that the price of the ETH or other coins will be higher, because the price of all other coins is tightly related to the price of BTC.
There will be nothing else for change. The throne will be dominated by bitcoin - the great coin and revolution in technology. XRP just crossed ETH in a few hours. But there will be no exceptions to that. ETH will soon return when they are ready for the new network. In that, I think the top 10 will have many changes.

The market is very volatile and to the changing market no one can be called as a winner but if we are judging according to the percentage increase in profit then the king of all will be bitcoin as mass adoption is increasing

probably ETH, many tokens are based on eth platform and they adopt the technology of eth.

Ethereum is a good a guess as any, however, I may stick to Bitcoin for now.
Lately bitcoin has been showing bullish signs of activity which may indicate that the king being woken up by bulls. If the trend continues, we may see the king ride these bulls to once again new all time highs. Just hodl boys!
I think it's too early to talk about the king of the crypto currency at the beginning of the year. In our time, a lot of new crypto currency is created and therefore it is difficult to determine. But, if you do not take into account newly created crypto-currencies, I think that after all, ETH leader is among the crypto-currencies.
So far for me I think its still bitcoin. Even though bitcoin suffers now bear market but its still a strong coin. Perhaps ethereum having a good run but its still not enough to become king of all crypto. In the next 3 years maybe if bitcoin cannot recover.

you did already said that btc is already here for a long time , i guess that is already a solid proof that btc will only be the king. eth on the other hand is too far away from btc if we are only basing on their values. in my own opinion , no one can beat bitcoin because bitcoin is really a superior type of crypto. the only one that can compete to each other is only altcoins because thier value are seem to close to each other. one example is bch , bch did overcome etherium last year but etherium did make a comback to the number two spot. soon i think ripple can be the next coin that can de throne etherium and bch .

I will say that BTC is king for now. Even if things are up and down fluctuating keep an eye on the prize and keep in mind longterm how the king has performed in good and bad times.

Naturally, Bitcoin will remain the king for a very long time. At least, this year and in 2019 it will be the market leader. However, I can easily admit that Ethereum can lead the market in few years. if we talk about the king, of course the main coin will remain as the king because of how many users used it. im talking about bitcoin. it will stay remain the king of crypto. even if it has a great dump in this past month but still it remains as a king. Because some of coins will follow only in the prices of bitcoin so i think no coin can replace the throne of bitcoin and and the next to the king will be ethereum.
And by what criteria do you compare? If the price, then the leader of 2018 will remain Bitcoin. If you evaluate by technology, then the leader of 2018 is Ethereum.

I'm sure this year is still for Bitcoin. And I firmly believe that in 2018 this is the permanent King of Bitcoin and Ethereum cannot replace that position. It may take several more years for Ethereum to be like Bitcoin.For me,there's no one can beat the one and only,and still the king of crypto the bitcoin. Ethereum will remain as a secondary,but it will never overcome the bitcoin.

Nevertheless the Ripple has a shortage gap. The gap is due to network openness. Nodes in the XRP network structure, allowing Ripple to be vulnerable to attack, which inevitably impacts the user's access paralysis of the transferred funds. I think BTC will stay out as a winner.
I still believe that Bitcoin will continue to be the King of crypto this 2018 and no doubt about that, i mean the market and community that the Bitcoin has, ain't easy to overthrow. Yes the it's taking a big hit right now but surely just like the previous years, it always find a way back by the last quarter of the year, so I believe that Bitcoin will continue to reign for more years to come or even decades, even with all new coins, surely the Bitcoin will prevail.
I personally hope it wont. Bitcoin is the reason so many alt coins can't reach their full potential. We need more fiat pairs so bitcoin wont be the deciding factor for all the market all the time. It's fine to hope for bitcoin to reach the ATH again and what not but I personally don't think it's the best thing to happen.
