Both are taking a big hit this week, but I still prefer Bitcoin, eth is making a lot of awareness because of their smart contract but still, people prefer the original one, but we'll see in the middle of this year, things could change drastically.

BTC will remain in its original position, ie No.1 as 'The King Of Crypto'. As for Ethereum, it isn`t possible to 'can' overtake bitcoin. I believe, ethereum is the best coin when compared to other coins, but only in its class as 'Altcoin'. So the proper title for ethereum is 'The King Of Altcoin'.

yes same with me. ETH is currently very good in its development. it can be used as a supporter of ETH will be king in this year. let alone now a lot of altcoin which has a basic smart contract based Ethereum ,, it can support the rapid development of ETH.

The crypto king of 2018 has many names on the list and first one comes to my mind is Ethereum, Litecoin, Neocoin, IOTA, Bitshares, Monero, dash, XRB, Zcash, and Siacoin. Neocoin being a Chinese blockchain project already rising from past week and I am double sure that this coin which is one of my favourite is going to be the king of crypto coin in 2018. Even XRB is a good one to track as it has already proven its potential by giving us more than x10 time of price movement and i am sure that these two coins XRB and NEO are the top two contenders of being the king of crypto in 2018.
For this year is said to be another good year crypto currency. I believe GRF(Graft coin) created by the Graft credit card and universal crypto payment processing network will the crypto KING of 2018 because the goal is to make crypto currency mainstream of payment.

Do not hurry, 2018 has just begun. indeed ethereum and bitcoin will be appropriate candidates, but let's look together to determine which coins will win this year.
I still think that Bitcoin will take the #1 spot for this year. Although many alt coins are catching up quite fast, I don't believe 1 year is enough time for them to actually surpass Bitcoin.

Ethereum rapidly increase as we compared it last year. I think it is time for the ethereum to move up than bitcoin. I guess also that the price of ethereum will continuously move upward that will lead it to the top 1 in list of cryptocurrency.
I think bitcoin will remain to be top coin this year 2018 and it might take years before an altcoin overtake it. By that time, a new kind of cryptocurrency might emerge with better features than the present coins today. Ethereum have been one of the best virtual currency in term of market capitalization and has the best performance price gains. Climbing beyond $1000 is the highest gain of ethereum so far and some traders predicts that it will overtake bitcoin in the future. That prediction will remain to be seen as many more coins are being created and constantly flooding the market.
I would bet Ethereum!It grows faster I as could imagine.. And also so many ICO's that are using ethereum for the option to buy their tokens.

I think, that 1 year is little time to become actual king and throw btc from throne, but so far i would bet on eth, but, as we can see new technologies, new blockchains, new ideas come out every day. So i would say in future, neither eth or btc.
2018 new starts and still not known for sure who will be the King of coins this year but this year it looks like my prediction will become the property of the ethereum.

Although I have high hopes for ETH since it is used widely nowadays as a Bitcoin alternative, I still see that the future is in Bitcoin.

I think Ardor (ARDR) will also be at least in top 10 end of 2018 after all problems are solved. Maybe Verge (XVG) also but ETH and Ripple will be second and third place after Bitcoin.

There will be a huge competition between Ethereum and TEZOS.

No altcoin/token would on top of bitcoin by the end of the year. Even bitcoincash is slowly losing it's popularity that is claimed by its supporters to dethrone btc. We also know that it will make another crazy pump this year.
