This thread is old, but some discussion is still interesting! One of the reasons people sell some of their altcoins is precisely because they do not have what to do with them being that 90% of people who buy altcoins expect some return on BTC and not use altcoin for anything... After a long time and some damages, I have taken the dynamics of this world or at least are beginning to understand some behaviors... Try to find the maximum application and understanding of the altcoins that you have some interest, otherwise, it will only target the pump-dump as a cycle.
Yeah yo are right with this act most people are to show that altcoins has no potentials, therefore holding onto it could be some kind of burden to you later. But hey, there are some really nice altcoins out that are making some good names for themselves. Stop this act since you might live to regret you decisions some years to come.
Everyone has a reason. They probably need cash for urgent things or so.. Anyway. For me, i dont like to sell my coins so soon. Sometimes it’s better to wait.
They are only who know it's good or bad, because we can only see bad things, while they may have plans from the beginning why they chose to sell. I'm sure of that, because people usually didn't do it without careful thought, moreover that's the thing that makes him lose. In some kind of coins, I see very profitable prospects and keep them in my wallet for the time being, and on some I earn by selling them at the moment when they reach a good price. Basically it's coins that I get as a reward for bounty.
Projects of this kind appear, because many continue to want to make a profit, and earn quick money.

Personally I only sell my hokdings if I needed to or if I need money other than that I don't sell any of my altcoins if I can't make any profit out of it. The key to holding is knowing what to hold. You can't just hold coins that you like, you have to know wether it has potential or if it will stay relevant for a long time other wise you will be wasting your time holding coins that is not promising.

Many altcoin holder feel that. Many altcoin investor do not want to hold for long term because many similiar project with others altcoin. But many good altcoin woth to invest for long term like NEO or WAN or RVN because they have solid developers team and working product
I am selling my alts, yes, but not all alts that I am selling because some have a future and some are just some shitcoins on the market to run with our money. I mean the pump and dump coins. Some coins are not meant to be part of your long term hodlings portfolio.
Personally, I don't believe in any altcoins except ethereum. Therefore, I am selling my alt coins when it reaches my aim. They are only for earning money for me.
Even till now, i still feel most altcoins should still be on hodl, because the market has every tendency to to rise. The year i perceive looks very much promising, not for bitcoin alone, but also for most altcoins. For instance, i have invested into some altcoins that as of now, they are moving on the upward trend. So, we this , i still believ that there are other good altcoins that worth investing in. Most times, investing into alts, brings more profit thanks
I also sometimes think about this. Why people sell their tokens at low price? I just don't get it. May be panic is the reason behind this types of activities.
Despite the fact that the best thing is to hold yet the present circumstance of the market can be so disappointing to push one into doing what you never envision to do. I firmly trust the market will before long change to put favors individuals once more.

People think that if they do not trade coins, then it will go down. The market is very unpredictable, its behavior is very difficult to predict. You must understand yourself whether to risk it or not, wait a month or two before trading your coins.
Many people have lost fate in crypto due to the dragging near market hence they are trying to cut losses and pull out by selling all their holdings. The smarter ones though are waiting it out and doing every thing they can to amass more , invest more to earn more profits when the bull run comes.
Because there are too many useless projects, so people sell tokens. I personally do not sell many tokens, only those projects that have a really great future and the team develops the project.
Because no one knows what will happen in the future and many altcoins are also very promising.
Because people have emotions, and they can not contain them. Everyone has such qualities as greed and fear. As a result, in January many people played greed and now fear. This is the fear that sells.
Since the market is still on red, I don't have plans of selling my alts at this moment and would only do so if the market is in green marks, no matter how long would I wait. It is just a matter of patience and those who will not be, would surely lose profit and those who are patient would surely earn huge and are more advantageous.
I here and see that a lot of people are selling their altcoins for this reason or for that reason. In some cases I here that people are even spending their altcoins to buy Bitcoin. Now that one really has me confused. To me it's way to early to be selling your altcoins. It's like selling an original painting before it even gains in value or while it is still gaining in value. What smart investor does that unless they are selling out of fear or because they are desperate. For me I am holding all of my coins for now because it is way to early to even think about selling your altcoins; what say you?

I would have agreed with this post in February as it seems like sound and logical advice. If you would have listened to this it would have been a sure disaster for you. This should be a good lesson to always take a bit off the table when you have made a substantial gain. At the same time you need to keep that moon bag just in case we would have went to 2 trillion vs 200 billion. I sold my alts and went into Bitcoin and got destroyed anyways. Wish I would have Tethered however I didn't and still don't trust it. No way they are holding all that cash on hand. If Tether blows up the market is going to get crazy for a while.
If crypto runs again I have no idea how to play it. I may go half in Bitcoin and take the other half and spread it among all the top stable coins. For sure don't want to make the same mistake twice.
