When your child has cancer, do you take your kid to the hospital for chemotherapy (science), or pray to God (religion)?

In most states, if you pray to God instead of taking your child to the hospital, you go to prison for negligent homicide... for good reason... because God doesn't exist and prayer doesn't cure cancer...

Christians recognize science at least as much as non-Christians and atheists. How do we know? Because Christians know that everything comes from God.

Christians don't deny factual science. In fact, Christians embrace factual science. The thing that Christians often don't embrace is non-factual science, namely, science theory.

Since many scientists, but mostly amateur scientists and atheists, embrace the non-facts of science theory as though they were facts, it is these people that have the greater religion.

Why do science theory believers have the greater religion? Because, as I have shown over and over in the "Why do Atheists hate Religion" thread, and elsewhere, standard science proves that God exists, while believers in science theory often attempt to convince themselves and others that God doesn't exist.

On one hand I'm sad that I haven't thought about this topic myself. On the other somehow I feel it's useless because the christian nuts will come and say a) how much they don't like atheists and that they're bad and b) atheists are bad because they're bad. Hard to figure which side of the fence you are leaning not that it matters to much.

To write off one side of the issue is to go about life with a half cocked idea in ones head. If you are unable to see things from the other side you are really not living a open life. So as a Christian you are not being excepting of a fellow man/women and as atheist you are not allowing open discussion.
That said I agree to the point that both sides are locked and if I was to look today,I would say religion is still as powerful as ever.
No President can even state he is anything other than Christian in the States and Muslims are increasing in numbers at a pretty good clip.
Atheists have always been around and are slowly gaining traction in the public arena. So it looks like a issue for a long time more and will not be solved in this life.

God does not exist...

The God you worship is merely "the God of the gaps"... meaning, you attribute to God, whatever has not (yet) been explained by science...

1000 years ago, God was responsible for lightning, earthquakes and hurricanes... now that we are more educated, we realize lightning is caused by static electricity in the clouds, earthquakes are caused by shifting of the earth's crust, etc... it is no longer caused by God, because it is no longer a 'gap' in our knowledge...

Following this philosophy, your God of the gaps is getting smaller and smaller... less powerful as time progresses, because he is responsible for fewer unexplained events...

If you say, "A universe this complex would need to be created by a more complex God"... well then, who created God? Something even more complex?

Theists will claim, "Something can't come out of nothing", so where did your God come from?

You can't have a creation (God) without a creator (God's dad)... the flaw with Infinite Regress is the first cause...
