Some people pray because they need something but some prays for giving thanks to the lord. For being grateful, blessed, protected and having good health for evryday life that he gave us.
Praying is a way of communicating God. Through prayer you can tell to God all about inside in your heart and what you want to be in the future even the needs of your friends, family and others. People pray to God because God is justice for all. Everyone can talk to God through prayer and can tell all felling's they have.
Praying is not just about asking a gift or material things. It's also a way to thank God for everything you had.

Prayer is a spiritual need and a mans need in life.God knows what we need before we tell our prayers to him. I do believe that through praying we can seek guidance to the Lord our God.With this we can be a better person in our society because we know how to balance what is right and wrong.
Well, you do have a point, God knows what exactly what we need before we even say it to Him. But of course, you need to be specific, and tell him what you really need. I remember our pastor telling story of a man who asked for a vehicle, he asked for a vehicle in his prayer. For a couple of months he was able to have a bike. That was a vehicle right? So he asked that it should be motorized so he have a motorcycle. And then he finally prays for what he really wanted, a car. Then after a year, in God's perfect time, he have a car. God knows the desire of our hearts. We need to still say it in our prayers. And we should be specific.
When I was a kid, my parents used to tell me that my wishes would come true if I prayed to god. Back then, I believed them. But once I grew up, I realized that there is no use in praying. I am not an atheist, but I haven't prayed for quite long time.
Not a religious person, but i think is how they can ask for things or thank God. Not useful for me.
As a human being you know that there are things that you can handle. That is the main reason why people do pray. Of you think that you can do anything without god then praying is not for you
This is very mental way of behaving. They want to feel something powerful to back them in bad days.
Well prayers are like calls for help from the higher power and in prayers you don't have to ask for anything material or anything out of the ordinary, it's just a way of asking for help, nothing more.

Humm people have never seen god and yet they pray to God to hear their desire or to God help him in difficult situations... as expected of the religious
Prayer is like everyday communication in our family.
We can see and touch the people of our family, just dial the cell phone number to converse with the person in our family
But we do not have the means to communicate with "god"
Well, this is going to be your personal view on praying which probably isn't going to be the same as everyone elses. I do frown on people (though I do it myself) who go ahead and only pray when they need something from god, or want to do well at this or that. Praying like that isn't going to work (at least in my eyes) you're going to need to just pray to God when the little things happen, when good happens in your life, when people are healthy, food is on the table, and so on and so forth.
Some people pray to get things, others pray because they feel as if they're thanking god everyday for everything that they've been blessed with and are continuing to be blessed with on a daily basis.

Prayer helps to get the hope that your request and needs will be heard and fulfilled.
Prayer performs the function of auto-suggestion. The person allegedly did something - prayed. He is too lazy to get up and change his life and therefore he believes that if he reads a poem, then some force will help him. It's all unfortunately only dreams

Yeah, people know that praying to God is not going to change the outcome, but still pray and then blame the God for not altering the reality. Praying with a purpose is just an empty ritual, a manifestation of ignorance.
If your prayer does not involve constant blabbering or demands then it can bring a lot of positivity in your life. Praying is like how the law of attraction works.
