There are people that are very confident in gambling and can do anything or go extra miles for them to bet and win.
There emare also people that are very shy at things even when gambling and would not want people to keep seeing them at the casino or gambling shop because they might not want their personality to be exposed to their friends and family or people that might know them.
We all have different personalities and there are people that are bold while some are very shy so no matter the kind of temperament that we might have, there is nothing wrong with hiding to bet since we might not want to disclosed our activities to others.

I believe that most religions will not allow their followers to engage in gambling when we look at the bad effects that gambling can cause itself, and I think that even if for example your religion allows gambling activities but still we cannot get out of the stigma attached to gambling where most people will usually consider that gambling is an activity that is better avoided regardless of your religion, and because of this people prefer to hide their gambling activities because they don't want to get a lot of criticism from people in their environment.

I think religion can also be a reason why people hide their gambling activities, but like you said that it tends to be hypocritical, if for example you are in a religion that prohibits gambling then obviously don't gamble at all and follow the rules, and apart from that there are still other reasons why someone hides their gambling activities, usually more people have the reason that they don't want to get bad views from people around who know the bad effects of gambling.

On point! I'm like that too, I don't let other colleagues know what I'm busy doing, especially if I'm gambling because I know they'll have something to say and possibly change their opinion of me, because they can use that as a reason against mine once did something wrong. When it comes to religion, I understand why some people chose to stay quiet about their activities because they are torn what they will choose, religion is a difficult opponent especially if all your relatives are of your religion, because they are also the ones who can fight against you once you deviate and disobey their orders and prohibitions.

People around or the society does have that negative projections or views towards gambling and just like been said by most people on here is that
on the time that they've seen someone who do play gambling then they would really be treating them like a bad man whose really that bound to mess up their lives
later on. Also when it comes into our relatives then there are really indeed conditions that they would really be having that kind of judgmental approach on things
on which they would really be able to see someone play gambling.

This is why they would really be deciding on hiding into the shadows and since its that easy to play gambling nowadays due to online execution

Those kind games are common.in Africa. And I believed it is only in Africa you can see such games. And in most time they are doing it like that because they don't want people to see them in the public. I have seen them many times. And also there are times they don't want some gamblers to participate with them so they went for hidden places and gamble to satisfied themselves and whenever you such people playing whot, you should just know they they are gambling because if they are playing for fun then they would play in the public place and not in the secret place. And they is no way people place gamble in secret places that family or others would not know. Even it takes time they would know. In my opinion and from a fairly reasonable point of view about the reasons why someone prefers to hide their gambling activities from the public eye is quite simple which you have also said the right thing that one of the reasons they hide it is because they are afraid or worried that people in their environment will view them as someone who has a bad personality because they are involved in gambling, and obviously this negative viewpoint can cause other problems in their life and one of them may reduce the level of socialization between them and others around them.

There is a high probability that the people around them will stay away from them and also maybe by throwing some criticism for fear of being exposed to the bad effects of gambling by the gambler, and also obviously I think there is a high probability that other people will reduce their trust in the gambler and when people no longer have trust in you then most likely you will have difficulty in life when you need help from them in any case, and this is quite a reasonable reason why people prefer to hide their gambling activities.

Totally depends on someones decision because we do really know that there are people who are really that some sort of being introvert who doesnt really like
on showing on the things that they've been getting involved into. This is why its not really that not something new if people would really be tending to be that silent about on the things
that they've been getting involved into. Some are getting ashamed because we do live in a world on where people are really that having that bad looking about gambling
and to those people who are getting involved with it. This is why they dont really like on letting others seeing on what they are really getting involved with.
So its up to someones preference and the conditions that they are into.

I think that people who are gambling are going to gamble in public or private, it is just that the urge to gamble follows no rules or bounds. It is not uncommon for people to meet up in dark and shady places after the evening for a round of card games and often there is money involved. Usually these events happen away from the wives and the kids and in lower economic strata.

I don't think hiding to gamble is to secure privacy, instead, it's a means of trying to avoid shame, when we are doing something, then we should be proud about it, we should avoid fear, neglect the way others may see it and focus on what's best and good for us, if we are truly not ashamed of ourselves being a gambler, we should then have no reason for hiding it that we are gambling, even the government is not against it to be a gambler in many countries, when then should be hide if we are not having something we are hiding.
