Personal reason but yeah that's also valid as everyone has his own way of treating this venue of entertainment, if you don't want someone to stare and watch you while playing, better to keep it as secret so no one will annoy you while enjoying your game.

Negative thoughts are a fine line between addicts and non-gamblers, both always think that one party is doing something wrong. The addict thinks the non-gamblers would blame and criticize him, and the non-gambler thinks the addict will go about stealing and abusing his life for money. Hence, the gambler wouldn't have any other option than to hide from the non-gamblers around. However, that's a wrong move from both parties. Gambling is not something that should be hidden from our friends or family. Provided that they're adults and can decide for themselves what they want. Although not everyone is meant to know. However, there exist multiple factors why gamblers do hide their gambling habit. Which include the ones mentioned above, stigmas. While gambling secretly is not fine, non-gamblers should learn not to develop stigmas on gamblers around their vicinity.

I now see both sides. Some people raise their heads and act like they're better than everyone else. Others dont like being judged. The truth is that some people can handle it. They know how to play, especially when it comes to games like poker where planning is important. People hide because of that reputation, though. Being sneaky all the time is not a good way to live. I think its time to try something new. Im not saying that you should do anything dangerous, but we need to talk about ethical gambling in an open and honest way. Its about being in charge and knowing your boundaries. Stop keeping things secret, put more emphasis on education, and support smart plans. Thats the move that wins.

Gambling is a form of entertainment. It’s not illegal or something immoral that you need to hide just to avoid criticism. In fact you should be proud because you have the luxury to do it while others afraid of taking risk with their money. Just like drinking beers or hitting cigarettes, gambling is a hobby that gives you satisfaction.

I don't see how they were hiding, if you could see them, it means anyone walking on the street could see them as well which isn't how one hides. However, people who hide when gambling locally probably do it so that people from their society don't see them doing it because gambling might not be considered a good habit in their locality or maybe they don't want any of their family members to see them gambling as many families don't allow their members to gamble.

We can often see such gamblers sitting somewhere around the city gambling either with cards or any other game, some would be playing games for fun but some would be betting with money to make it more engaging, some might do it to earn some money but you can't earn a lot in such gatherings, to be honest.

These students can also do this activity in the school premises where anyone can see them without question them, but the reason why they look for a quiet place is because they don't need distractions from any body. Some people can hide to gamble but it's not usually everyone that hide to gamble. Street gambling can be done any where that those street guys finds suitable for them.

Not every country or every society welcomes gambling. There are some countries or some societies where gambling is an illegal activity and those who gamble are looked down upon by the people of the society. I am a gambler and if someone else knows about my gambling then if I have problems in society or people in the society look down on me then why should I share my gambling issues with everyone to make me feel bad. I think it is always the right decision because there is no need to make the family look bad in the eyes of the society where a little privacy is not a problem. If gambling is to be done in secrecy then it should be done in order to preserve one's self-respect.

Gambling is considered as a vice by a lot of people, especially those outside the circle, to us it may seem like it's just a full on hobby we do every now and again when the classic hobby choices of ours just don't do the trick, but to other's it's the devil's work and you should stay away from it. Leading some of us to gamble in hiding, in fears of being called out and ostracized even by their family or friend groups for gambling.

Lastly, there are people who are good at this, especially when it comes to skill-based games like poker and blackjack, in fear of losing their money from people who are out to get them and their wads of cash, or sometimes just so they don't risk getting banned in the casino, they seclude their identities and make sure they let on as little information about them as possible.

We gamble freely when we have nothing to lose. Hiding gambling activities is understandable, you never might have a knowledge and recognition of top influential men in the society, maybe seen pastor gambling, how will you feel? You will quickly assumed the pastor uses tithes and money generated for church projects to gamble, that's the actual sense of your reasoning, that's why we should become more careful with our day to day activities and ensure they're been discreet.

Sometimes the reason why they hide it, is because maybe the people around them don't really attest to them being gamblers and that's why hiding it is mandatory. Like for example not every woman would like for her husband to be a gambler and possibly resulting to addict so I guess she will try every means possible to stop him from gambling that's if the relationship is mutually enough to let that actually happen.

There are several reasons why they hide gambling from family, relatives and friends, the main factor is that gambling is not supported by environmental behavior which is still viewed negatively or gambling is still illegal in some countries, another factor is because they consider gambling to be private so that it is not known to other people. So there are various reasons people hide gambling but it all depends on their individual goals because if you win at gambling then they will be very close to you but when you lose big then they blame you for being too greedy and they will not help with loans to gamblers without collateral.

I know some people who hides their gambling activity, I asked why they hide it and they told me that they don't want people around them to know it because they would either be criticize or when the people around them found out that someone win on gambling they tend to tease them to ask for treat, so basically they are just hiding the amount they lose or win on gambling.
And there are also some who hides because it is illegal, some place are strict that they don't tolerate gambling games (Cards, mahjong or other forms of gambling games) even if it is being done indoors or in your backyard.

We do know that we are living in a world on which almost everyone have that kind perceptions and views towards gambling on which it is something that really looks bad or automatically treating up that all of those individuals who are engaged on it would be considered addicted person on which it would really be that a normal or something which is in default in speaking about peoples views.This is why on the time that you would really be able on having that dealing then you would really be that tending to hide it from others on which there  are people who are really that not liking on making others do talk bad about them and there's some that don't really care about other people's saying as long they are having that kind of fun on their gambling activities.

There are really just those common judgmental inputs or insights in regarding about dealing with gambling on where there are people who can't just bare up with those kind of shit insights on what they are doing and just that not that not liking for them to hear about.
So it would really be just that depending on a certain person.

Probably they are not hiding at all, or they are just playing on their meeting place where they consider this as their bonding but yeah people are hiding when it comes to gambling for some reason, maybe because gambling is illegal on their place, or their family will not allow them to do this and their only option is to gamble secretly. Well, if you are doing illegal things that is not good at all, and if you don’t want to get caught better to gamble online because your friends might put you down later on because of this kind of activity.
