The answer would be because there are many bad people who wish to get an easy money for them self. That is by creating those scam project.
When ever they got what they wanted, then they leave with all the money they had collected.

People at the moment do not trust new ICO projects because they are very poorly proven. The problem is the greed of the organizers of the scam ICO. This also applies to the market situation. We both know that we invested in ICO ETH. And the price of ETH fell very much.

The number of fraudulent projects that appeared during the past year is simply amazing the imagination of any person. There were so many of them that very many online publications wrote about the ratio of 4 fraudulent projects to one normal project. Perhaps it was very close to the truth.

In 2017 the price of cryptos went high so ICO investment also become very popular and millions of money poured into new projects so whcih get attracts many scammers to do the same thing by creating fake site and fake team just because they also want to make that millions in easier way.

If you think about it, then it seems to me that similar scam projects started exactly in 2017, more precisely, from the end of 2017, when a very big HYIP started on this issue. Now everything is very, very quiet. I think that all of us will be able, sooner or later, to start the processes for clearing the market.

the scammers found out that it was too easy to create a project especially under eth platform and hold an ICO to their advantage. those naive users who didn't even read their whitepaper or searched the authenticity of the team members, lost money to these ICOs. last year was not a good one for most investors though.
It seems to me that the situation can be corrected only by the total control of the cryptocurrency market, so that they have legal protection not only for investors, but also for participants of the Bounty company. To prevent fraud in the market ico company.

Scams will happen all the time. The crypto world is still an attractive place for all scammers because of its high anonymity. The high price of cryptocurrencies in the last time additionally influenced the increased amount of ICO scams. The reasons for this situation are probably much more, and the scammers who want to earn easily and quickly is very much.

Are you asking why people scam or why scammers are not many in cryptocurrency to the extent of investors sitting back to watch the whole thing and not investing in ico anymore, I think most scammer are here to retaliate on what some people as done to them in one way or the other may be when also investing.

The overwhelming majority of those projects that turned out to be fraudulent are such because their motives were originally such motives. They are fraudsters with the aim of cheating they created these projects, no matter who told you the opposite. In fact, there are a large number of such people, respectively, the projects that they created are also very many.

It's because there are so many bad and greedy people who had discovered and seen cryptocurrency as a way to get huge and instant money without making efforts and without considering those investors that had put their trust for the project and because of selfishness they don't mind other peoples welfare. It's simple as that.

In our modern world today of course theres no hiding the fact that there are many new way or style of hackers just to steal funds especially in terms of digital funds. All spouting new token projects conducting ICO after launch are not all legit, some are just scam so better research first before investing to them.
And why not avoid investing in icos and only invest in those coins if they have proved to the community that what they say is actually true and they can develop the product outlined in their whitepaper? Many invest in icos thinking they are going to miss out in the profits but most icos do not grow until they release to the public their project and that can take anywhere from a few months to a whole year so you will not miss much if you wait.

Actually, when crypto gained popularity and start to rise up then scammers also got interested in making millions of money but this is not just last year. I think in 2017, there are lots of scam project but people were so amazed and occupied with the much bigger project since they are receiving lots of rewards and tokens at that time. Actually, even the scam projects were able to distribute their tokens too because they have earned enough for the distribution fees. Now that some scam projects were able to generate profit but don't have enough money to distribute then they are obvious scammers. While good projects that don't reach even softcap paused their project and rerun their bounty campaign to somehow generate for the distribution fees and for the startup of the project.

I cannot deny that 2018 season most of the ico was scam, or if not most of it they've extend their ico project and yet in the end still scam.
Most of their reason was bear market, I don't know what's the connection of it for the bear market. Just all I knew was almost majority of the ico last year didn't meet soft cap target, then most of ico that has been arise was fake.

It seems to me that everything is simple. Those people who once successfully conducted ICO have become very successful in doing the second, tenth and twentieth ICO, so today they have taken this trust of investors.

Not every ICO on the market is a scam, because if you would search better, you would be able to find great projects even on such a market. But generally you are right, there are too much fraud projects and it is happening due to the current market conditions.

that's because people think by joining in ICO they would multiply their investment quickly, so this is used by con artist by making ico project that said their investment will double by joining in their project.

but not all ICO scam people, in 2017 study said around 80% was scam and here's the article on cointelegraph.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/new-study-says-80-percent-of-icos-conducted-in-2017-were-scams
so 20% of it is a real ICO project that surely worth to invest on.

Look, you've just raised a lot of money and you know that ICOs aren't regulated, so nobody would punish you for your activity. Would you gone away with money?
People are greedy, that's the main reason.

I think that not all projects should be considered fraudulent, because there are projects that collect money and disappear, and there are projects that simply can not raise the necessary funds for ICO. As for the real scammers, they simply enjoy the trust of people who do not have experience with cryptocurrency and do not know how to analyze and choose projects.

There have been such ICOs, there are and will be many more, so you need to sort out the projects in more detail so as not to get on another scam!

It's very simple, in my opinion. With the growing popularity of ICO and cryptocurrency, people saw an opportunity to earn easy money. Scammers still use this and create fake projects to attract as many users as possible, collect a lot of money and hide.
