You got a nice analogy there. Ethereum is like a better and improved version based on your analogy but not really. Bitcoin maybe slow and has limits to how many transactions it can process but that is why there are hardforks. During a bitcoin hardfork, they are releasing a better and improved version of Bitcoin. Yeah it is now a different coin but it is still from the old Bitcoin.

As on date , after bitcoin is something is trending is ETH as it is in the early ages and has got a long way to go. Its got good technology backed by good institutions and even we can see many more changes in the blockchain technology as upgrades will make the interface more user friendly. I will still buy some ETH coins and hold them long as in the long term it will fetch good profits.Trending coin in the future , will keep a close watch on the movements impacting ETH.

Lots of new project is choosing ethereum platform because through years ethereum had already showcase its advantage versus other platforms.
I agree i see so many coins that are ETH based. I think ETH will have a good future just look how good its doing many coins are made eth based. This means that it will surely rise in the future.
Thats why I will do a investment soon on ETH. This coin will just be like a second bitcoin.

The organization of the development community around Ethereum has been great. Consensys has been a powerhouse in the community and continues to invest into good development, across the whole stack, from development tools, to protocols to end user apps. I haven't seen that replicated in any altcoin yet though I don't claim to be an expert in altcoins. I know Tezos, for instance, promised $50m to startups using Tezos, but it's still a far cry from the Consensys team.

ethereum has many variations of altcoins and more and more celebrities are willing to advertise for altcoins so the ethereum is getting more special for coin business
Etherum blockchain has mostly developed itself. because almost all other altcoins used ethereum themselves so ethereum is the founder this ecosystem.

We've see so many things in cyrpto land that nothing amazes me anymore.
If bitcoin is the progenitor of cryptos, then ethereum is the progenitor of many tokens that makes up the majority of market activity. I'd also rather trust eth than waves since it is more established and more popular. It's kind of sad though that there has been many issues with it now like the parity attack.
if there is any other coin next to Bitcoin , it is only Ethereum, second it is still in reach of ordinary man for sale and purchase
Like Bitcoin, it's a trend setter. The first of its kind. A big plus is the great leadership and devs. I'm still wondering why Vitalik chose to create solidity instead of implementing multiple languages like neo did, but regardless I have a great deal of faith in eth. Buterin will probably the one to deliver crypto into mainstream.

It may become "so special" in Future. Vitalik Buterin and his team announced that they are planning to burn some of ETH. In plans to take fees from app based on ETH blockchain. 
If they do this - the price of Ethereum will start to be an Adjustable and Controlled. Good for Ethereum in total but bad for creators and founders of projects who chose Ethereum blockchain.

I think that ethereum is the most really demanded crypto as of now. So many projects are based on ETH platform, so many partners even at governance level. Buterin is a genious. This all makes ETH special imo.
The price should rise due to this statement.
