Actually I don't think the price is high. BTC is undervalued now and the price is going to increase during next year and we will see the price over 20K$ again
Yes I believe it is the original, so to speak the gold standard of crypto. It is what will always get most coverage in media and always get ETF futures etc. first. Think 50% of market cap is were BTC will stabilize...

interesting opinion. high bitcoin prices not because of the original coin bitcoin. but bitcoin is the first coin created in the digital world, the popularity of bitcoin in the world to make the price high. bitcoin can be said to be the king of all altcoin present in crypto and as a role model for other altcoins. so no wonder if the price of bitcoin is higher than altcoin. if i'm not mistaken the price of bitcoin is high because there's a lot of investor investing to bitcoin. and it is in demand in the market. usually altcoins rises because of the investor.
