Everyone has their own reason to sell their coins especially in Bitcoin. When bitcoin price is high maybe after several all time highs people has the tendency to sell it to make profit. Some others, they do not want to loss all their money especially when there is a negative news about bitcoin. A lot of people rush to sell of their bitcoin as soon as possible.
One of the most important reasons Bitcoin exists is for this very reason. So many countries have unstable currencies that trap their citizens into a wealth stealing death spiral. Or they just don't want the people to have power over their own financial futures.
I say buy Bitcoin even if your government says not to. Especially if your government says not to. Just be safe about it.

People sell bitcoin to earn profit. They sell bitcoin when its price is high and they buy bitcoin when its price is low, as simple as that. Some newbies buy bitcoin then panic sell when its price suddenly drop. Others sell due to emergencies.
So many reasons no comfidence to continue or need money and can't wait money. or somebody share negative openion to change her or his mind. lot of reasons. there is some campaign need to take several month that's why need to wait and trust and be patient to wait and keep participating campaign.

People are selling bitcoins depending on their needs, there are a lot of people who works on the market and monitor the charts to earn even just a small amount of profit just to have an income either monthly or daily because in this way, they can earn more money rather than working on the corporate world.

People panic yes but there will still be a huge number of people who sold in the recent crash even though they knew it was a mistake, you cannot discount the personal circumstances of each person, they may really need a certain amount of money out of bitcoin for one thing or another and do not want to risk losing that if the price falls further.

So that's the time that you want to sell your bitcoins.

They sell Bitcoin as a transformation. For the purpose of supporting their life, they may need cash for an emergency purpose. I think someone can sell their bitcoin without a valid reason because it has a bitcoin solid.
