In the past, yes some of the bad boy attributes you mentioned are known with gamblers and that is why it was labelled as bad habit to gambler. Many families don't like their children to associate with other children who gamble but these days we know some people only gamble and not involved in other illicit attributes.

The answer is not far from what you know but based on different jurisdiction or country. I think for some countries that the youth find it difficult to get employment, the reason is basically because of no jobs but although you still find those that have job who still gamble and if you ask them why, the response is that their salary is not enough and so it is taken as another means to shoot at income.

Currently now, if gambling for gamblers is for fun is debatable because higher percentage of gamblers do that purposefully to ncrease the money they have.

It's exactly the same with other bad habits which can and do bring people and their physical health to states of complete and utter ruin. Such as alcohol and smoking. People always tell you to avoid it, yet they still do it.

I guess it's about making a sacrifice to enjoy something that you like. Either way, nothing lasts forever, so why not indulge, as long as you don't overdo it?

Gambling is not entirely wrong but the excessiveness of it is what is discouraged to avoid possible addictions that could lead to a devastating outcome in the life of the addict, but then if gambling is done with moderation and every limit being followed then it becomes easier for all to see that the effect of gambling will be greatly minimize at the end.
But the issue with gambling stigmatization is that the gamblers are condemned even before their motive are understood by society.

It's easy to su this, to follow what the society says or thinks and they even go the length of making you believe when you don't have your own firm take on the course.

Perhaps if people get to understand it as just any lucrative business that could be rewarding as well as damaging, the typical profit and lose, one won't get to understand that, its just a business between two parties.

Else, where would you hope to get $100 out of $10 in matter of just hours.  Some might say trading but, I hope you do get the point.

Gambling isn't a vice but, it could lead to people being vicious when, your not a responsible someone and don't stick to the rules or unwritten principles surrounding gambling.

Gamble only what you can afford to lose!

I know that people see these gamblers in different ways. Personally as for me gambling is not bad because they are sometimes we gamble for fun while there are sometimes we gamble to win money to buy things and eat or wear and all depends on the motive of the gambler at that time of the gambling process.

Those same people who says " Money can't buy you happiness" is running to make money for their entire life.

Gambling isn't a bad thing but it's addictive like many others so ancestors attached it with religious beliefs then people won't do it but now we are developed and evolved also have the knowledge of what is good and bad for us so if you can handle it then you can do anything you want.

There are casino sport stations around my area and people went there to play gamble and people see them. Yes mobile phone make things easier for gamblers but they can not use the mobile phone to print out the tickets of games they have placed (played), so they have to move out the game station to bet games and print out the tickets. So when they win big they took the tickets to the hall claim the money. So sport betting halls in my locality is still very much important for gamblers. Mobile phone is to track the games and to play small games but big amount of money are played in the stations. Though that is what I discovered in my area.

Gambling is addictive, especially for the peoples who have tasted big wins or are inspired by other people's big wins, so gambling will never disappear and many people will always play it. but the thing to note is that gamblers who are responsible will always win but it's different from gamblers who are greedy and stupid, they will only accept defeat as a result of their greed and stupidity, so control yourself, train yourself to be a disciplined person and don't want to fall into a gambling addict.

People still gamble because they have always gambled since the early days of primitive society. The thrill and excitment released by the body when playing is really rewarding and pleasing for the person involved on this activity. That is the dopamine produced by the organism. And once you feel it, you will want to feel it over and over again. It's even in our biological genetic system, passing from generation to generation along the time.

Indeed, there is no mystery, it's purely biological and psychological!

Gambling is just a Choice to do. And the way one visit the gambling hall can also tell people about him. Some guys place gamble with a coded mind or way and they dress well, eat better food and live good environment while some of them dress like a unhealthy person. That is the way you present yourself in the public is another way to judge you. What you give to the society is what the society will still give you back. So gamblers should present themselves well in the public so bad name will not come to you. The way you dress also attract police to stop your vehicle. I believe the bad names are coming from the way they present themselves. If they dress well and be a responsible persons in the family and the society. Nobody will call you names.

Gambling itself isn't a bad thing but what makes it bad is how some people handle and deal with it. People have different goals and purposes why they gamble. Some of them do it for fun and to seek comfort while others do it because of having hopes of winning which might change their lives. People will continue to gamble as long as there are winning testimonies around which gives us hope of gaining a better profit through it as well.
We can't blame parents who are scolding their children who gamble. That is our responsibility as adults since we already know the effects of gambling addiction to young people since they are still fragile when it comes to handling their emotions and controlling their urges. It is important that we'll educate them on how to get rid of gambling since they are still unable to handle it responsibly because of their age.
As long as gambling exist, there will always be people who will try their luck on it. We can't blame them for doing that because we all want financial freedom in the future but we should also accept the fact that not everyone will find their luck on gambling.

There is no mystery in gambling,it is not everybody that gambles that have that mind of winning,gambling is fun and it is based on luck. Gambling is for adults and I don't think that there is any adult that is still under his parent and if there is such,that person shouldn't gamble because he might end up using his parents funds for gambling. You work and earn your money by yourself,nobody can tell you what to do. If you are fine with gambling so be it,even if there are no casinos,people will still come up with a means to gamble. I don't see gambling as something bad from my own side and the mindset of staking is in human nature.

People still gamble because it's the easiest way to wealth, if you want to quit immediately you'll see a news about someone just using cents to win thousands of dollars. Gambling isn't as bad as our parents say it is, then they had no way to preventing addictions but today there is.

When gambling started during their time, it was only for the poor that were gambling and the rich studies in school to get good grades and get hire in high paying job but today we have more graduate then better paying job so everyone is now gambling both poor and rich.

Gambling gives us hope that we can taste wealth with the little money that we have, we have gamblers that have successfully won life changing amount so we're hoping that we'll achieve the same results in the future and that's why people keep gambling with hopes of winning.

Even though it's addiction or not, gambling is still risky and can damage people's life financially and emotionally because our bets involve money. The moral story of the thread is why people keep coming back to this kind of source of entertainment when there are a lot of things to do to have fun.

As a gambler myself, I get my entertainment from the risk because it gives me a thrill every bet. This unexplained entertainment is the reason why gamblers keep coming back.

People still gamble because they want to and they can.

Gambling has earned negative connotation over the years. Even way back, gambling is considered as a bad habit because most people don't see the sense of gambling and how it will add value to someone's life. Hence, they label it a bad thing. I can't really blame them from doing so, because I also agree that gambling could bring hell to you if you aren't careful. It might bring harm than good especially if you lack self-discipline, gamble can ruin someone's life. But this all boils down on how a person will utilize gambling to his own advantage and how he will built his gambling habits that could either make or break him.

If a person know his limitations in gambling, there's a small percentage that he will be lost and be addicted. But if it is the other way around, then it should be expected that gambling can potentially bring harm such as losing funds, being addicted, and even being buried with piles of debt because of the uncontrolled urge of gambling. As long as a person is responsible of his actions, is aware of the consequences, and is ready to be accountable of whatever the result of his decision, then we must let them be. After all, these gamblers are already adult that knows how to discern which will be good or bad for them.

I think you are confusing it with gambling addiction and thats bad because it has its own  bad consequences and should be avoided at any cost but if you are under control then it's not bad but depends on our personal preferences wnd how we see it.There are many of us who gamble on different platforms and enjoy it so we don't feel it bad but can't say anything about your experience.

Why do people still smoke ciggies? Despite so many claims of lung cancer.
Why do people still drink alcohol knowing it's dangerous to their health and especially their liver?

That's the same reason why people still gamble even after knowing the allegations against it.
It's called addiction. And it's happening in all the 3 cases I mentioned here.

It only became not good if your intention is to became rich as quick as you think. But if you came here just for fun and it didn't affect your life then all is fine. Actually its fun to gamble its just some do this in wrong way that's why they god addicted and their life became miserable. If they just control their life and balance all especially on risky situations and other things maybe they will not say gambling is bad but rather they say its good entertainment source if your bored.

That's a misconception government supports it because of the taxes it contributed and people have something to turn to if they want to escape from the boredom of their job because casinos whether online or offline offer a different ambiance that excites you and thrills you, and its a breather from boredom.

Gambling should start when you are mature and making your own money if you are still in school the parents are right in castigating their children, parents should educate their children on the harm of gambling but do not treat it as a work of the devil.


These are irresponsible gamblers, not those who gamble for entertainment


There's no mystery about it, it's human nature you have to understand that we all gamble in our lives taking risk are considered gambling, it's within us, and even in a country where gambling is forbidden, they understand that gambling is inherent to human.

Gambling is completely banned in the country I live in. People of this country see gambling as cursed. But I have seen people around my area who indulge in gambling have a very hard life. It is still seen that people who used to live a very good life are now living very hard because of gambling. Although I have occasionally participated in online gambling, I have never been addicted to this gambling platform. I always take part in gambling in moderation. I think people participate in this gambling out of excessive greed. I have seen more money lost than profit from gambling platforms. There is no mystery behind gambling, it is a completely luck based platform.
