I guess everything in this life is a gamble. You get into university for four years without any certainty if you will become successful, you gamble those years. You enter a corporate job, without the certainty of being valued or promoted. That's a gamble. You leave your job to start your own business, that's a gamble. Everything is a risk and gambling experience.

Then you introduce a person into the gambling industry. Which is basically a representation of one's life. Instead of fulfilling their career, they just want easy money from gambling. Because what, everything is like a casino, it's all gambling. You take risk without any certainty of the result.

Don't mind those society that sees you bad when gamble because those are the people who does not enjoying their life . because they missed the happiness and thrill that only gambling can provide.

I think the question is the opposite. Why shouldn't they continue to gamble? For someone who has a problem with gambling, yes, they should stop, but the vast majority of people don't, and I don't share your assumptions, especially the one in bold, which would only apply to problem gamblers.

Gambling has been with humans since the beginning of civilization, and today it is a multi-billion industry only in the US. Where it is banned, it is not eradicated, but only sent underground and dependent on mafias.

Therefore, it is normal to assume that people are going to continue gambling, especially considering that the vast majority make good use of it, contrary to how you paint it.

There are no mistery behind it. You can't even sure if those who have been called as successful person in their society was not gambling as well. None know what they were doing.

People have so many reasons why they were gambling their money like these :

- Enterintaining purpose
- Money machine (try to double or triple their money in a short time), etc

I think that most of people were seeing gambling as easiest way to make money. that's why they were spending their time on it. Even though you were going to school and you can't be guaranteed to be a successful person.
People can see that for entertaining purpose only. Why so serious, mate?

It can also become a way for people to leave from their pressure caused by their work. Anyone has a different motive why they were doing it.
People are easily to judge it before knowing the fact.

There are two types of people who gambles. One who is rich gambles for entertainment or recreation purpose while another person who is poor , gambles to earn some extra income for their family. The things that is mentioned in the OP mostly suits to the person who gambles to time pass. Yes elder people says gambling is bad,as they have more experience that us in life and have seen many people becoming bankrupt for gambling. But a poor person gambles in limit with calculating all the possibilities and outcomes.

I feel the majorities reasons are financial gain. Many people are drawn to gambling because of the chance of winning money. The promise of winning a large money can be enticing, and it might motivate people to engage in various gambling activities. Others, including myself, are tenacious even though we know we will lose more than win and I won't deny it. I'm just waiting for a large win and then stop gambling.

It's not that gambling is not good, rather it should be instead addiction to it is not good (or to anything really). The idea of spending money to enjoy something isn't new, that's literally what we do to enjoy anything else really, so why should gambling be wrong?

In the end it's simply the negative connotation of society about gambling, especially if you consider how there were a LOT of addicted gamblers in the past since there was no, well, therapy, advice or something similar done or given to gambling addicts. Maybe if they enforced some sort of medical certificate from psychiatrists or someone who deals in that field that shows proof someone is not addicted to gambling, might fix the negative connotation about gambling.

And there's no mystery to it at all. Just like how there's people who enjoy farming, fishing, etc., there's simply people who enjoy gambling as well, simple as that.

Why? Everyone wants money, that's why. Gambling is believed to be a shortcut to being rich, by some people. But in reality there's no such thing. There's no certainty with winning and before you achieve such thing, you'd be experiencing huge loss first unless you are really lucky not to. But going back, no matter how aware all of us on the risks of this industry, there'll be still people playing and losing because of the idea that there's a chance to win the 'jackpot'. That's how powerful money is as an inspiration or motivation wherein practicality is often not being considered.

No matter how bad we view this, cycle will just continue wherein a player would be desiring huge returns, no matter what happen withoyt realizing how huge the loss already is. Some are just playing for fun indeed but majority are playing as if they are betting their own lives or fates into it.

Anyway; It is a situation that occurs with other things, for example, it boys who only think at play the sport they like, they do not know how to do anything other than play basketball, soccer, and any other sport.

I know friends who, when they were young, became obsessed with music, singing, art, painting, being sculptors and they insist on continuing with that, and their parents oppose them dedicating themselves to these professions or activities...

Gambling is just one more on the list of things some people obsess over and parents will complain about.

So, the gambling is not the problem, it is the individual and his environment who fails.

Their is nothing bad with gambling, the only thing I will say is bad is when addicted to gambling, addicted gambler’s are the once that makes the society see gambling as bad thing, because addicted gamblers are the once that will have to do illegal things just because they want to make money to gamble, if everyone is gambling responsibly then people won’t have been complaining about gamblers.

No matter how much the society tries to stop gambling it won’t really be possible, gamblers will look for ways which they are going to gamble, and also I don’t stop or discourage people from gambling, but I always advise people not to get addicted to gambling. Gambling is not bad, but gambling addiction is really bad and am always discouraging people from being addicted to gambling.

Gambling is not a criminal activity, especially in nations where it is legal. Many responsible individuals are gamblers in society. Sometimes I don't blame people for seeing gamers as idle and lazy people this is because most people have turned gambling into full-time jobs. The majority of their time and money is spent on gambling. Some even go to the extent of selling their belongings or even engaging in crime to feed their addiction. Others attach cultural or religious beliefs to gambling making it look like a crime.

I don't think anybody that relies on his parents for survival should engage in gambling. If a youth has not started working and earning, he shouldn't be gambling because he is still dependent. Gambling shouldn't also be the reason why one will abandon your studies or other important activities. Gambling should be seen as entertainment and not as a major source of income or an occupation.

The allegations against gamblers you discussed are not totally true because if you control your gambling life, all these misconceptions will not relate to you. So people still gamble because they are having fun and some are also winning games.

It is so because gambling is one of the places that promises money that seems free because I see them as a place where you make money by just being right and I'm sure that you know most persons want to make massive money with very minimal efforts and that's one thing gambling seems to offer.

I'm not sure if everyone in the world sees gambling or gamblers as bad because there are countries where gambling is fully legalized as long as you're of age and such country wouldn't have the time to look down on gambling.

Gambling has caused people more harm then good and that's why everyone seems to kick against it especially in Africa countries where gambling seems almost like a taboo even for women as well.
