Also, some of these projects are not sure of their market acceptance and some have not hit their soft-cap, just because Investors are Skeptical about the value of the project.
Extending bounty campaigns really hurts the bounty hunters as the longer the campaign the more the participants and the more stakes and the more division of the rewards, i have seen such campaigns end up only pennies worth of tokens to the thousands of bounty participants wasting all their time and effort, i think if the campaign extends the reward should also be increased proportionally.

Bounty manager may deem it fit to extend the bounty campaign if ico has not meet any soft cap and since the purpose of bounty campaign is to create awareness about a project, they have no option than to extend the project for more investors

What ever that is a good source of income, will attract scamers. We have lots of scammers in the crypto world. And it's making people scare of investing big, which is also affecting the period of ICO to last longer. You tired of the bounty, some bounties are up to 16-18 weeks.
well, audience and funding. They both are first need of successful bounty. Recently, i join scidex and it's audience is big in part. It's really a good project and recently it completed it's community program with huge success.

ICO is now extending the fund-raising period, not only because too many fraudulent projects have appeared, and investors have lost interest in them because of this. A lot now plays the general fall of the crypto-currency market. The price of bitcoin and ethereum fell and it became simply not very profitable to spend these coins and buy new tokens. Because of this, even good ICO projects can not even collect a minimum amount. 
Now it's really not the most favorable for investing in ICO projects, but it's all because of an unfavorable market situation. I'm sure when the market will recover, investors will again start actively investing in projects.
