Or more likely, make a statement without thinking and then fail to follow up on it.

So far, AJ hasn't showed up to spar Tyson Fury, probably because he realizes it makes him look like the beta versus Fury.

Also, AJ would have absolutely nothing to gain from sparring fury, except a small amount of experience should they ever need to meet in the ring.

Hopefully, he does follow through though, there's still more than a month before the big fight so there's still time.

I think it was just a publicity stunt. Anthony Joshua doesn't need to spar Tyson Fury, and vice-versa. However, they do need to begin hyping up their inevitable fight. It's always good to start early!

Whatever the case, I think Joshua will follow through on his offer if the fans really push for it, though I doubt enough people will since most boxing fans are casuals.
of course that is an obvious publicity gimik, because why a prospective opponent will be a sparring partner ?does it sounds stupid when they can both learn and experience each other before going up the ring together in the future?

if this is the case then why not each boxers that will have a match may have a fight first for sparring before the final bought?nope AJ wont go to this for sure, and at least successful publicity because it seems that people react to this one.

Well even if they both get experience of one another in sparring, this doesn't give anybody an edge per-se.

After all, both Joshua and Fury will be able to feel eachother out, and will definitely be able to take something home from their sparring. It could also give AJ a good way to stay in fighting condition throughout the year, rather than taking a lay-off until he finally gets another opponent.

This will probably take at least 3-4 months considering that Joshua usually only fights a couple times a year, or three at most.

Find out recently, that Fury had changed his coach. As I understood, he expects, that new coach will teach him how to KO Wilder (as he said, he could have done it in first fight, but don't have enough strength to do it)

And now that this fight is already set in stone, we will be seeing a nice showdown of great fighters this early in the year. I will not be predicting at this stage. I am torn 50:50 on both fighters. Both are obviously capable enough to defeat each other. Wilder is a strong one-puncher, as proven in their last battle, but we also saw how Fury proved that he is man enough to withstand it and make a draw.
This will be as good as the fight one, or even better, if the fight out turns out a draw, probably we will see a winner here as for sure Fury will adjust and he will make sure he will not be rob again, while Wilder is looking for a one time kO.

I thought Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder would be a great boxing match before the Andy Ruiz fight but not anymore and we know how he won the rematch against Ruiz and to expect Anthony Joshua to knock out Deontay Wilder is a fantasy as he does have a good chin and he even took some good shots from Luis Ortiz and did not go down and if he can take shots from Ortiz then he can probably take from Joshua too and i am expecting Wilder to knock Joshua out silly  Wink.
I'm thinking the same thing too Grin. After I've watched the first Joshua - Ruiz fight, I already realize that AJ was still far from Wilder's capacity lol. I mean, Joshua find a hard time against Ruiz so what more if  he is going to face a more dangerous opponent? No way! Wilder got a very high knockout power, I don't think AJ can survive all 12 rounds with him.

After this fight even Fury loss as long as the loss is not so devastating(I hope), AJ and Fury would still be an exciting fight, however, it's not as exciting as Wilder vs AJ as we could potentially see a knock out on this fight, I predict coming from Wilder of course.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will be a great fight to see the baddest boxer in UK and it will be a successful PPV fight.
The numerous knockouts of Wilder proving that he is ruling the heavyweight world in boxing. If the rematch is on, my chicken will be Wilder; I'll bet on his side because there is a high chance that the history will repeat itself. It is obvious that wilder has a lot of odds in terms of skill and power. They are both arrogant but the important thing is only one of them who can become champion again.

Fury accepts Joshua's sparring offer ahead of Wilder rematch

Tyson Fury says he is willing to take up fellow Briton Anthony Joshua's offer of sparring to prepare for his February rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

https://sports.yahoo.com/fury-accepts-joshuas-sparring-offer-040944351.html

I don’t see why not. It’s probably perfect preparation for Fury, there probably isn’t a more perfect sparring partner. Prepare for the best by sparring with the best.

It is a great gesture by Anthony Joshua if he really spars with Tyson Fury because none of the fighters would do that if they see a potential fight with them in the future as these sparring sessions will expose the weakness they have and if he really does that it is great. I am waiting for the match as the hype is really high and it will be one of the biggest PPV in boxing for a long time.

And for those who have doubts about the awkward statement made my Anthony Joshua, I dig youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDc9JPrzvs4

Go forward 0:40, and you will hear it straight from Joshua's mouth.

Here is Fury's response though,

Quote

Tyson Fury Holds Nose at Joshua's Win, Rips Apart Sparring Offer

"They offered hot air as usual. I accepted, they haven’t turned up, take what you want from it, that’s it. Joshua’s nothing like Wilder but I’d like to bring him over and give him a good hiding anyway. But they’re not going to come, let’s face it," Fury told BoxingScene.com.

"They’re not going to come over and get beat up in sparring. It was just a stupid offer at a stupid time - wasn’t thinking, I accepted straight away, me being me, and that was it. I don’t read into it too much, he ain’t coming, simple as. He ain’t got the bollocks to turn up and spar, end of."

https://www.boxingscene.com/tyson-fury-holds-nose-joshuas-win-rips-apart-sparring-offer--145960

Clearly, he doesn't like the idea, and I like him saying that he is going to beat up Joshua in the sparring. They might cross paths in the future, so it's better for them not to really spar as no one will really get the benefits of it. The rematch is just about a month from now, and as we get closer, I'm sure a lot of media are going to cover and it will make the fight more exciting with trash talking.
Firstly, i believe none of them (Anthony or Fury) like the impression of the two being a sparring partner when there's a huge chance for them to face each other in the future but the sparring invitation was just a test from Anthony side which is the reason Fury don't get any response back.
Meanwhile, if i were you i won't buy all the statements made by Fury in terms of beating Anthony cause it just a hype statement.

When we talk about natural power and skills, Wilder I'd the best among the rest, we have seen what played out at the first match and hope to see a replay in that will show more of Wilder. Hopefully to see Wilder still defend his title as the best in the business. This will be the best of the best fight in the history of heavy weight championship.
There is a slight change in that phrase, Wilder has natural crazy power his size and he is weighing around 208 pounds but you cannot call him as a skillful boxer as he knows his weakness and strength and that is the biggest thing you need to be a world champion, if you are able to identify your weakness and strength you can go a long way while on the other hand Tyson Fury is a skillful boxer but not having the knockout power, so the fight is always how Fury will mitigate the power of Wilder and whether Wilder is able to land the knockout punch.

Fury is going to win in this match if this will reach in round 12.
Fury is a better boxer but wilder should use his power in this fight and knock Fury which he was not able to make in the first fight.

Sure thing, this fight will draw a big crowd and a big PPV as well, hopefully I'll be able to watch this in PPV as I like how fury bullying the bully in the ring.

Two months to go and the build up is great I just hope fans and bettors will not be disappointed just like what happen to the Joshua Ruiz rematch, where it did not live to expectation, because Ruiz has been busy eating all he can going to the match, and some people call him scammer for not going to the fight well prepared.
When you have Tyson Fury in the mix then you will have an entertaining pre match build up as he is good in the microphone and he will elevate the opponents as well, the pre match built up of Joshua and Ruiz was not that entertaining and we all know the reason as Joshua was coming back after his first professional loss and everyone will make excuses after a defeat and it is not a new thing.
